The Lululemon Upload!

The Lululemon Upload is live! Nothing for me today so far but I did order the Principal Dancer Corsetry Tight the other day on early access and they arrived yesterday. I had ordered them ‘just to see’ and expected the seam details and the corsetry waist would be unflattering on my body type, but I really love them and am debating keeping them. The Soot color is just perfect and I love the detailing on it and the gold reflective logo. It comes with really beautiful hangtags (which doesn’t matter to the design, but it’s a cute touch anyways). If I can I will do a fit review for you tomorrow. I’d love to also order the Principal Dancer Hoodie but I have to show restraint. If I hadn’t just received an invoice for the next three months of server hosting I probably would have ordered.

Sweater Weather! Free People Ottoman Slouchy Tunic Is Back!

Brrrrr! It is officially sweater weather in Vancouver. This morning was garbage day so I had to get out there at 6am to put out the garbage bins and the ground was completely frosty, and the temp was 3*c! Today was the first day I officially reached into my closet and picked out my favorite coziest sweater, the Free People Ottoman Slouchy Tunic. You may remember I went on and on about this sweater last year and purchased it in black and pink. Unfortunately, I was late to the party and when you guys went to purchase it it was almost fully sold out. I was on pop-back duty for a long time with this sweater.

It was such a funny coincidence that I wore this sweater for the first time this season today and my friend just messaged me on facebook to let me know they have been fully stocked online in 6 new colors! I love the royal blue, cream and sky. Last year I thought for sure the pink would be my favorite but actually, I love my black one a lot more. The pink is fun though and that’s the one I grabbed to wear today.

These are big and oversized so I sized down one size and still have plenty of room and length. I don’t love how it looks sized down twice though as it really loses the swingy oversized fit. I’ve washed these a million times and they are still perfect. I love that it’s a hybrid between a nubby sweatshirt and a sweater. Wear with booties, tall boots or flats. Don’t love it with sneakers but that’s just because I’m short.

The Lululemon Royal Ballet Collection is live! Click here to access the private shopping page if you didn’t get the email. This collection is available to shop for the next 12 hours. The limited edition capsule was created in collaboration with Principal Dancer Francesca Hayward, of the Royal Ballet in London.

Initially, I was more interested in the cashmere and merino sweater and long sleeve but after looking at all the items one by one I fell in absolute love with the Principal Dancer Corsetry Tights so I ordered those in soot. I also really love the Corsetry Bra in Soot and the Corsetry Jacket. The pretty gold elastic waist on the Golden Lining Tight was also tempting as was the Principal Dancer Hoodie. Did you order any pieces?

Last year in July, Lululemon did a collection with Taryn Toomey. I think I like this collection a bit more since it’s more fall, and has some beautiful merino and cashmere items.

Lululemon Upload! New Lululemon Drops

Lululemon Upload is live! Nothing for me today but I am wanting the City Trek Turtleneck in my size up. I ordered it in my size down last week when it was mistakenly uploaded and showing as ‘sold out’. I realized that actually, I wanted it in a size up, not my TTS. TTS would have been fine but I think I want a loose fit in the middle. I just can’t decide on the color I want.

This was a weirdly small upload with some strong 90’s influence with the zip up wide-leg track pants, satin patchwork track jacket and track shorts. I love that trend but I prefer it from other brands. Lululemon to me is streamlined, modern, functional and feminine whereas some of these styles are a bit too street style/edgy for Lululemon. This style needs iconic branding to be right. Also, the iconic brands I have in mind for this type of look is cheaper by a long shot for such a polarizing trend which you probably don’t want to spend a fortune on. What do you guys think?

Adidas Originals Windbreakers

This week I found two windbreakers that I just had to bring home with me. It helped that I had earned a $20 gift card at Sportcheck where I did most of my kids back to school shopping. I spotted this windbreaker, really wanted it, and then I remembered that I had this gift card in my wallet which expired the following day. This first windbreaker in black I actually caught my eye at Nordstrom first, but they only had one size left and none online so I went to Sportcheck to see what they had. After having purchased two windbreakers, I got another email from Sportcheck letting me know that I have another $20 coupon that I could use starting tomorrow, so I have a track jacket in mind for that discount. I did a review here of my favorite Adidas SST Track Jacket.

adidas Women’s Sport ID Woven Anorak

I love the embossed floral print on this windbreaker. It’s really simple with a small Adidas logo on it, and this pretty tone on tone floral print. The material is incredibly soft, silky and stretchy and very breathable and it’s matte. It feels like really nice swift material with the bottom half being a stretchy swift. I took a large in this and find it really comfortable and relaxed fitting and long while not looking oversized. The torso is nice and narrow and it has a really nice feminine cut. My friend who is a bit larger in the bust than I am found it too tight across the chest but for me I have plenty of room. I’m a 34DD but I don’t often have issues with fit over my bust.

I’ve been wearing this jacket non stop since I got it and I just love how comfortable it is. It doesn’t seem to trap heat at all and just feels like second skin. I’m pretty certain it’s not waterproof or even water resistant so consider this just a light layer for to/from or as a warm-up piece. The pocket in the front has been so convenient too for carrying my keys and my cell phone. They are deep pockets that you can zip closed so it’s secure, and they are the perfect angle for just keeping your hands in to keep warm.

adidas Originals Women’s Court Windbreaker

This windbreaker I loved for it’s 70’s preppy sporty vibe. I love that it’s navy with the white preppy 3 stripes around the hem. It also has some trefoil embossing all over which is nice and subtle (although not as subtle as the one above). This windbreaker definitely has more of a street style vibe than the one above but I love it just as much. The fit on this one was trickier for me since it’s quite a bit more oversized and it doesn’t have that narrow torso/feminine tailoring to it. My TTS looked too large in store so I purchased my size down, which looked good (still roomy in the chest and arms), except that the three stripe hem was snug around my hips. At home, I decided I wanted it more oversized and loose around the hips so I exchanged it. You can really go either way with this one and it just depends on your preference but once I saw several photos online of this windbreaker styled oversized I realized that that was the look I preferred, especially when wearing over tights. This will very easily layer over a thick bulky sweater.

The material on this windbreaker is not as soft, thin or matte like the black one above, but it is still soft and really comfortable. This one feels more substantial so it may be at least water resistant.

Lululemon Upload is up!
I have been eagerly awaiting the merino wool items to hit and immediately fell in love with the City Trek Turtleneck. Unfortunately for some reason, it was uploaded and already partially sold out. I took a chance and ordered it in my size down in the hopes that it’s an oversized fit, but if it’s cropped it’s going back. The last two years the Lululemon merino items have been really nice quality and my favorite fall/winter purchases.

The Like Nothing Bra and Not So There Bikini is Lululemon’s newest ‘intimates’ category. These don’t seem to be marketed as sports bras but as everyday comfort bras in technical fabrics. Seamless, reduced hardware, made of ultralu and ‘powerfully supportive’. I’d love to try this one on. I’m a big traditionalist when it comes to bras so not sure it will be my cup of tea but for those of you that love sports bras but want something in between a bra and a sports bra, this may be the niche product you’ve been waiting for.

APL Shoe Review: Athletic Propulsion Labs Phantom Leopard Running Shoe

My Athletic Propulsion Labs Phantom Leopard Sneakers finally arrived and I am absolutely infatuated with them. I was a little scared that they would be crazy, and I was right they are really wild in person, but in such a good way. I wanted to try out the leopard print trend that’s everywhere now and this is exactly the type of item that fits my style and life. This way I am wearing the print, it’s not wearing me. They add the perfect statement to a neutral outfit, and they pair beautifully with vivid color outfits like this outfit with my sonic yellow swiftly tech LS, and my black In Movement Crops.

I ordered my regular sneaker size which is a size 9 and the fit is spot on. I haven’t worked out in them yet but I wanted to post these quickly for you as they are limited edition and they are selling out very fast. They are nice and flat so I think they will work really well in place of my Nike metcons for workouts that are varied, and when I need a flatter shoe for deep squats and lifts. These will not mess with my knee tracking in deep squats and will allow me to have a good ankle mobility. I will do an updated review post on these once I have a few different types of workouts in them as soon as possible. Even if these sell out, I think it’s helpful to have a review of the phantom style sneaker since I know a lot of you have been wondering about them.

Originally these leopard sneakers came out in April and I wasn’t fast enough to order them but APL decided to re-release them this month exclusively on their site, and I jumped at them.

The construction of this sneaker is really different with an attached inner sock that forms the tongue. The inside sock is a stretchy neoprene fabric so when you put these sneakers on, you have to pull them on like socks, not slip your feet in by pushing the tongue out of the way.

First Look! Seawheeze 2018 Showcase Store Merchandise

Check out the Seawheeze 2018 Showcase Store Merch! These photos are provided by OG Lululemon fan, Ms. A. I would have loved to have gone this year but just couldn’t make it happen. My favorite part of Seawheeze weekend is always meeting up with old friends. Luckily I did get to do that this year so I feel like I had a little bit of seawheeze excitement. Click here to view all of my previous years Seawheeze posts. They go back all the way to the very first Seawheeze in 2012. I’ve run most years and reported about Seawheeze every single year. This is the first year ever that I’ve not gone to the showcase store. I was reminiscing with Lulu Addict yesterday over dinner that my first year at the Seawheeze Showcase store I was pushing a double stroller with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old. That was before the insanity of camping out overnight, and the out of control resale.

I’m looking forward to running it next year, and hopefully, by then they will be back to hosting it in August when the weather is better, and they will have ironed out logistics issues they’ve had this year. It’s really unfortunate that the new bracelet process and lottery for the store was a necessary step this year. If you are still traveling into Vancouver, rest assured that I was just informed (as of 12 pm) that there are lots of prints and items still available, and even reflective backpacks and men’s reflective jackets

Nothing for me today. This upload is pretty light but I suspect that’s a very good thing for those of you traveling here to Vancouver for Seawheeze over the next few days. I’m really excited to see my friends traveling into town for this race. That’s the best part! Both the race and the showcase store should be a piece of cake this year after all the Seawheeze lottery and wristband stress that’s been going on. I hope it’s better organized next year.

Oooh I almost forgot to mention! My sneakers arrived yesterday. I am so in love with how they look and can’t wait to share them with you guys! I hope to have a post up tomorrow, but truthfully I won’t be able to get to the gym until Thursday (I know it’s going to be burpees that day and a lot of jumping) to try them on for an actual workout and I can’t wait to share them with you so I’m just going to do two posts – one to show them, and then a second to review their performance.

Nothing for me today because I ordered these, and these already so I’m shopped out. I did an order for a friend of the camo festival bag though. She’s been in love with mine since I got it a few years ago and I couldn’t chance her not snatching it up this round so I picked it up just in case she didn’t get my text message. There has been a lot of buzz from the Lululemon educators about this new flannel shirt. As we’ve been seeing, Lululemon is using a lot of men’s product in the women’s line and really marketing a lot of the men’s stuff to women. I’m curious to see photos of how this fits and is styled for women. I’m a lover of Rails for plaid shirts because I prefer a more feminine tailoring, but if you are looking for the oversized boxy fit, this may be up your alley.
