Fit Review: Adidas SST Track Jacket and Levi’s Wedgie Fit Jeans

by Cristina

I had an appointment today that took me to a mall I don’t normally go to, and low and behold two items from yesterdays wish list happened to be available for try-on! I ordered the Adidas Jacket and the 501’s last night but they haven’t arrived yet, so I was really glad I got to try them on early. In my wishlist yesterday I showed the Levi’s in the 501 cut, but actually, I preferred Levi’s Wedgie Fit Jeans on me so the 501’s I ordered will go back.

My Lululemon Move Lightly Pants arrived. I’m going to post that fit review later tonight, so stay tuned.  In the meantime, reader Andrea left this try on comment about them:

Dropped by a Lulu store and got a pair of Move Lightly Pant in Blue Tied which is a beautiful bluish grey. I prefer the length of Move Lightly Pant to On The Fly Pant and at 5’3”, it reaches about an inch above my ankle. The rise is higher than I thought and the waist is on the snug side (I’m 103 lbs and wear size 2). The pant looks flattering on my slim figure but two GECs have the same comment that it might not work on someone with a big hip. The material is really silky and comfy. I have two pairs of Lulu tencel pants I got maybe four years ago and they are still my favorite.”

I love this jacket and I’m so glad I ordered it. For some reason, I didn’t expect it to be soft on the inside, but it’s actually brushed and feels pretty cozy and light. I love the relaxed fit and generous length. This is a size large. This jacket is going to get so much use and will get worn every season.

Levi’s Wedgie Fit Jean

The ‘mom jeans’! This is such a different style of jean for me but I really like them. I usually go for AG Jeans or J Brand and I almost always go for a skinny jean or a straight leg.  The Levi’s Wedgie fit comes in both a straight leg and a skinny but both have a tapered fit and a contoured snug hip area and are a much higher waist then the typical straight leg or skinny jeans. They feel really different on, and just so comfortable. I didn’t realize that both the 501’s and the Wedgie fit had button up fly. When I saw them in store today I was so disappointed because I thought I would hate that feature, but actually, I don’t mind it at all.  I love the thickness of the cotton and the dense knit. It’s soft but feels very structured compared to my other denim. I also think that a high waist with straight leg combo is much more leg lengthening on my shape.

I think I like this jean for wearing with a pretty blousy summer top or something really feminine vs. pairing them with sneakers and a tee shirt.

The 501’s were similar in the leg but not as high waisted. Had I not tried both pairs on I probably would have been very happy with the 501’s I ordered but comparing the two, the Wedgie was the winner.

Very cute jacket and jeans! Can’t wait to read your review on the Move Lightly Pant. I love all things Adidas originals tracksuit items. I got an old school tracksuit during Christmas time for a steep discount. I loved how the stripes went around the arm rather than down the arm. I’m really liking this jacket on you. The contrasting white piping on the shoulders is a nice touch and is very flattering on you.

Love the jeans too. I’ve bought a couple of pairs of high waisted (mom-like) jeans with a wide straight leg. I couldn’t get over how comfortable they were. They are Simon Miller jeans in case anyone wants to check them out.

Funny that both you and I tried on Levi’s yesterday. I haven’t gotten a pair yet. I wish I kept the ones I wore a long time ago. They would definitely be vintage! I actually like button flys. No worry that the zipper will fail and keep falling down.

Thanks Mrs. O! I’ve been wanting an Adidas jacket for a while as you know but there are so many styles and cuts and fabrics it’s hard to know which ones fit a certain way. I really love the shoulders on this one paired with the roomy waist. I’m going to keep a look out for the one you are describing.

Yah I’m not sure what the sudden Levi’s bug was for me but for some reason, I had it in my head that that style would look great in the spring with more delicate tops.

I just bought these jeans from Aritzia! I was so glad to be able to try them on in store. I ended up needing a size 28 – two sizes bigger than what I buy in AG or Citizen’s. The material (in this darker wash anyhow) has almost zero-stretch. Just thought this might help someone out 🙂

What jeans are you wearing in the try-on pic with the Adidas jacket? I love the wash!

Hi Jan! Sorry for the late reply. They are these, but the exact color is sold out. This color is very close it just doesn’t have the hip whiskering. https://rstyle.me/n/cwv6whbhjk7

Hi there I was wondering what size I would go for in the adidas jacket? Aritzia has a sale on! I cannot try on. I wear a 4 in lululemon type track jackets.
