Sneak Peek: Australian Upload

by Cristina May 15, 2017
written by Cristina

Some new pieces tonight for the Lululemon Australia Upload. I’m liking this new Deep Mystic color, but I’m not sure about the Salt Alpine Print. I do like that we are seeing more prints released in the Fast & Free Crop. Does this mean the Fast & Free Crop is a core item? I hope so because it’s become my new favourite pair of crops for Crossfit and oly lifting.

I was at the Robson St. Lululemon today and they had some new Essentials Tank in Viridian Green and a heathered blue. I think these where a few months old based on the colors and unreleased stock for some reason and when I spoke with an ed she told me they where likely a one off release and she didn’t expect it would show up online or in other stores. Who knows. Maybe we will see them uploaded this week as well.

This Mesh On Mesh Jacket is intriguing. I’d actually wear this casually – but definitely not as weather protection. I wonder if the mesh is soft.

OOTD: Quicksand Define Jacket, Black Grape Fast & Free 7/8 Tight, Barkberry If You’re Lucky Tank

Quicksand Define Jacket, Black Grape Fast & Free 7/8 Tight

I’ve been hemming and hawing about keeping this Quicksand Define Jacket and to be honest, the fact that it’s sold out was playing into the decision quite a bit. Today I pulled the trigger  after I put together an outfit with the jacket. Since I loved how it all came together I decided to rip the tags off. I’ve paired it with the Heathered Barkberry If You’re Lucky Tank and I really love the two colors together. Barkberry is just a touch lighter and cooler than Quicksand, but not hugely different. I purchased this If You’re Lucky Tank several months ago on ebay because I was madly searching out anything Barkberry. I love it! I had to choose a size down in it since that one was available at the most reasonable price. Had I had my pick I would have stayed TTS for the more loose relaxed fit, but this one is fine too. Definitely looser than a Cool Racerback Tank, and on par with a 105F singlet. As you know I was a bit nutty with all the purples that came out this month and I actually got two pairs of pants in Black Grape – these Fast & Free 7/8 Tights, and the Pace Rival Crops. I’m also considering the Invigorate 7/8 Tight in Black Currant.

Fit Review: Sun Setter Bra

by Cristina May 12, 2017
written by Cristina

I ordered all three colors of the Sun Setter Sports bra knowing that I would probably only get to keep one, but I really wanted my pick of best colors. and although I really like this bra and I like all of the colors I’m pretty sure I am just keeping it in black.  I’ve been reading some initial reviews and it seems that some people are finding the straps too long, which is also causing some boob sagging and lack of support. Because I have a long torso and long bust to shoulder span, the straps are just right for me. If you are a true hourglass, beware of the straps – they will be long on you and likely unsupportive.  I find this bra extremely comfortable in the traps and back area and although it’s not a high impact bra at all, it’s comfortable enough for me to wear for a moderately intense workout such as weightlifting, or some cardio, or even just casual wear. I don’t like or need high compression bra – I mostly need lift, moderate support and something modest that doesn’t flatten me or give me weird boob shape or that I spill out of. I love that this bra is sexy, but still is very modest in coverage. I definitely wouldn’t wear this for a long run since I do have some movement – but it’s only slightly less supportive than an Energy Bra as long as the straps fit well. Below I have some photos of the bra layered under a tank so you can see how the neckline looks. I like that this bra gives an new layering option for tops, oversized muscle tanks or off the shoulder tee shirts.

Guest Fit Review: Speed Shorts Aerial Drift, Deep Forest Hotty Hot Short II, Cardero Tank

Amazing reader ‘Mrs. O’ has shared with us some fit reviews with the help of her awesome husband taking photos for us. Huge thank you to the both of them!!

Mrs. O’s Fit Review:

Speed Shorts Aerial Drift, Cardero Tank

Aerial Drift Speed ShortsAerial Drift Speed ShortsAerial Drift Speed Shorts

I really like this pattern in the speeds.  I think it’s a bit much on a full length tight.  In the speeds, the pattern had greenish tones to it.  So, it really brought out the blue rather than the grays.  I was wondering if any of you ladies have noticed the speeds are bit tighter than the older version.  Or maybe it’s just me.  My TTS in shorts is 6.  I sized up in the speeds and liked the fit better.  So, now, my TTS in speeds will be an 8.  I noticed online that they have high-rise speeds.  The store didn’t have them so I’m going to wait until next week to check again before ordering them online.  I think having the high-rise waist will solve part of my speed problem.  Let me know if any of your stores received the high-rise speeds.  I’m curious to know if it’s only going to be an online option.

Cardero Tank  The eds convinced me that a size up in the cordero tank would be ok (they didn’t have it in my TTS) but it is going back tomorrow.  I purposely wore it wearing a white bra (and exposing more skin in the front than I usually wear things) so that you could see how low cut it is.  When I tried my TTS in white, the straps weren’t as long.  So, I’m undecided on the cordero tank because if I want a pima cotton tank, I really like the love tank.  Just so you know, the cordero tank is long like the love tank.  A definite plus.

These are the redesigned Hotty Hot Short (without the tie in the front) in Dark Forest.  The legs in the redesigned version is slightly narrower.  I feel like my other hotty hot shorts are a bit looser in the legs.  But it could also be because they have stretched out a bit after wearing them.  These were TTS and comfortable.  The waist band seemed softer and had a bit more give in it.  The Swiftly Tech T-Back is TTS, although because of the t-back, the arm holes are bigger and the tank is looser across the chest than the swifty tech tank.  It also seemed a bit looser around the waist than my other swiftly tanks.  I’ll have to try them on back to back to make sure.

Sun Setter Bra, Sun Setter Crops

I posted a photo of my new Sun Setter Bra on instagram (icon links below this post and on the sidebar, or click here ) and I really love this little sports bra. If you are a C/D or DD this bra is nice and high at the sweatheart portion so there is great coverage, and the band is nice and wide and supportive. I tried this on under an off the shoulder tee, CRB, 105F singlet and a few other options and despite the high mesh neckline it looks really cute! It’s a really great way to create a layered look with your sports bra. Definitely a keeper for me. I still haven’t tried on the Sun Setter Crops, have any of you?

More Blog Help Required

by Cristina May 11, 2017
written by Cristina

Hey lovely readers, I have another bloggy favour to ask of you. This past weekend I had comments issues and I really appreciate you guys helping me out by testing the comments so I could get it back up and running. It’s now fully fixed, and I also don’t have to pre-approve comments which is great!  Today my request is, would you kindly re bookmark *** https://thesweatedit.com/  *** into your browsers and on your mobile devices? I have come across another issue which was a slow loading page for some readers and the ‘fix’ was that she had my old URL (which is identical to this one, but directed to my old platform) bookmarked, so although it was bringing her to this correct site, it was taking a non direct route here and loading very slowly. I did major investment in back end upgrades primarily to page load speed for you guys so if you are having slow loading issues, it’s because you haven’t updated your bookmarks for my website…and I think I didn’t make a blog post about it so that is completely my fault. Oopsies! Anyways, so sorry to be a pain in the butt, and if you can spare a few moments to update the URL by clicking the link above in this post ^^ and bookmarking that one, that would be so appreciated.

Guest Fit Review: Train Times Crop and Wunder Under Hi-Rise in Transition Midnight Multi, Untight Tight

Mrs. O’s Fit Review:

Train Times Crop

Surprisingly, I really like this print on.  I wasn’t sure if I would because the last few prints LLL put out have started to lose their luster, i.e., aerial drift.  After having tried these on, I will be returning my aerial drift WU.  I find sometimes where the pattern repeats (especially if it’s a light and dark pattern) the placing is awkward.  For instance, the concrete jungle kept hitting at my knees and it looked like I had knee patches; same with the aerial drift.  So, I usually order multiples to check out the pattern and see how they land on my legs.  This pattern did not hit at awkward places.  Probably because it is more geometric than swirly or squiggly with the colors fading from light to dark and vice versa.  This print is printed on light gray but is really opaque.  It was not sheer at all in my TTS.  The only thing you may notice is the light gray slightly coming through when you bend your knees.  But you really have to bend them a lot.  Normal walking and slight bends won’t show the light gray underneath.
I like the new train times crop.  The mesh is placed at a flattering angle so I think it makes your leg seem slimmer.  It was just enough mesh to break up the pattern.  There’s a nice bit of compression to this crop so you feel really held in.  It is snug but not too snug.  The waist is high and hits at the narrowest part of your waist (at least it did for me).  It did not dig in like some of the other crops that have come out lately.  The waist is smooth and is not sewn on the top.  It was a bit snug to get over the hips but once on, it was fine.  If the train times crop came in royal or dark forest, I would get another pair.

I tried on the WU to see if I would like this pattern on a full length.  I did like the patter but I preferred the train time crop in this pattern.  Partly because I think the full length in this pattern made my thighs look bigger and the pattern was solid (rather than having mesh break it up).  I’m also partial to crops.

Again, these were not sheer in my TTS.  It had a nice compression.  The WU were not as difficult to get up over my hips as the train time crops.  But I liked the fit of the waist of the train time crops better.  Honestly, I’m not sure why.  It might be just where the waist hit.  I find that high-waisted WU hit slightly too high for me and sometimes roll down on me.

Simply Bare Untight Tight
Simply Bare Untight TightSimply Bare Untight Tight
I’ve been meaning to try on the untight tight for awhile.  I’ve been looking for a pair of looser fitting casual pants with a straight leg.  Lately, it seems like a lot of the joggers, and the like, have cuffs.  I wanted something that didn’t have a cuff.  Generally, I like to size up in LLL’s looser fitting pants.  It’s just a preference because I like them to be loose everywhere, especially my thighs.  I was told by the ed to get my TTS (she said that’s the way they should fit) but I liked the way the 6 looked better.  I even sized up to an 8 but it was way too loose in the waist and I knew I’d be pulling them up all the time.  But I did like the looseness of the legs.  These tights are very long.  I tucked them under in the photos.  I would probably have to cut off 3-4 inches.  The simply bare tight is made of nulu (same as aligns) so it felt like I wasn’t wearing much and the fabric was super soft.  But I prefer a slightly thinker fabric for pants like these.  I didn’t get these because I think the legs could have been a straighter cut.  Because I have big thighs, tapered pants (unlike tights) make my hips and thighs look wider.  I would have preferred if the leg started to widen right above the knee rather than below the knee.  I think that would have given a straighter leg.  I also tried on the Sun Setter Untight Tight.  (I realized I forot to take pictures when I got home).  I preferred the cut of the sun setter untight tight better and even though it is made with nulu, it seemed thicker.

Any of you ladies have suggestions for an untight tight you love?  Doesn’t have to be LLL.

Mother’s Day

by Cristina May 10, 2017
written by Cristina

Here are some pretty flat lays from Lululemon to inspire you for Mother’s Day. I’m getting my mom a Define Jacket since she loves Lululemon but never ever treats herself to it, and I’m getting her another magnolia tree for her garden. I actually don’t get ‘gifts’ for mothers day and don’t really like the pressure of mothers day gifts , I prefer to celebrate with a fancy brunch out, including mimosas. This makes it easy for me as far as expectations, and my kids can still do the fun crafty things at school that I also love receiving.

Don’t you guys find mothers day is so much pressure? I find the gift giving so easy, but the receiving, or not receiving when the kids are little is so… I don’t know. Then there is the competition on social media as to who gets spoiled on Mothers Day, and who doesn’t. And the other can of worms…people who don’t have mothers, or great mothers, or are single mothers who don’t have a significant other to help acknowledge the day, or who had amazing mothers and grandmothers but have lost them, or maybe you are pregnant with your first child – are you considered a mother? or perhaps you deeply desire being a mom and you are suffering infertility.  Maybe it’s a competition between getting to celebrate your mom, and yourself as a mom, but then your husband also wants to celebrate with his mom, and your siblings want to celebrate with their in laws but also their mom. I kind of hate the imposition that ‘Mother’s Day’ brings. I’m also thinking of two moms in my neighbourhood who lost her daughters last week and I’m feeling very sad for them, the girls where cousins. It’s such a tough day for a whole lot of reasons, and I feel the anxiety about the day creeping up even though I have everything to be grateful for – I just feel the heavy ness of what that day means for so many people. So to that I say ‘treat yo self’. Do something that makes YOU happy on mother’s day and ignore all that other noise. You establish what you want for mothers day as far as spending time. BE gentle with yourself!

How do you feel about Mother’s Day, deep down inside, since you can answer this question completely anonymously. I’m really curious to know if there are others like me who have seemingly no reason to but feel a bit ambivalent about mothers day. I should ad a disclaimer that my husband is great, and if he knew I wanted to be utterly spoiled on Mothers Day he would….I’d just rather go for brunch and not worry about spelling it out, or outlining how I want to be honoured on Mothers Day.

So many new running crops this week. We got the Lean In Crop, Train Time Crop and the Sun Setter Crops. I may get to the store today to try some of them on. I did a fit review yesterday of the Lean In Crop but as I was leaving the store I saw the printed Train Times Crops hidden in the display so I want to go back and try those on, and the Royal Sun Setter Crops. Have any of you tried on the Transition Multi Midnight Navy Train Times?
