Upload!!!

by Cristina April 19, 2017
written by Cristina

Wow, this was a very long wait for the upload today. I was ready for it at 1pm, and waited for it for it until 8:30. I mentioned in my original upload post (posted at 1 below this one) that I would email you a second time giving you a heads up when the upload was live, but when I went to send the email I was blocked from sending it again. Apparently my newsletter platform has a limit to how many emails you can send in a day, and my second email blast put me over that limit.  Boo!

Besides the major inconvenience of a super late upload with the new time being a complete mystery, this was a pretty exciting upload. Finally, we have some pretty colors!! I love the combination of Black Grape/Black Current/Bosenberry with Fern Green, and then Dark Prism Pink and Pop Orange. Those colors almost feel like a ‘color story’ like what we used to have before this ‘year of darkness’. I also liked the Anew Cropped Long Sleeve, Black Grape Pace Rival Crops, Black Grape Anew Crops. I’m interested to try on the Black Currant Sole Training SS and Black Grape Sole Training LS.

Earlier today I purchased the Black Grape Fast And Free 7/8 Tight and the Fern Low Key Tank. The Low Key Tank was too large in my regular size so tonight I ordered the size down, along with the Love Crew Tee in the same color. I contemplated some of the above items but I’m going to sleep on it and maybe order tomorrow. It’s been such a long drought of not buying lululemon that I splurged a bit today.

What did you guys order tonight?

Upload!!!

by Cristina April 18, 2017
written by Cristina

The upload seems to be delayed, or slow uploading. So far I’ve only seen a few items that I think may be new. I’ll update as soon as the full upload is up.

Sorry, the upload is not up for Canada or the US. I am watching it like a hawk and will send out an email as soon as it’s live – if you aren’t signed up for my newsletter, sign up on the tab above under ‘subscribe’ if you’d like a heads up when the upload is live.

New upload post above this one.

Fit Review|Black Grape Fast & Free 7/8 Tight, Love Crew *Expression, Low Key Tank and More

by Cristina April 18, 2017
written by Cristina

We are warming up to color! Two colors in store today in a combination I loved was this new sage green color *DKFR* paired with black grape. Such an awesome combination.

Fast And Free 7/8 Tight Black Grape, Love Crew *Expression

These Fast & Free tights are must haves. So gorgeous on and so comfortable. I had a hard time taking them off to pay for them. They are definitely spendy but I’ve decided if they also come in cropped version I’m going to need them too.

I didn’t want to like the expression tee just because it says ‘Vancouver’ on it and thats my home, but I liked the fit as well and I liked the combination of light blue lettering on the black tee.

Low Key Tank Size 10 and Size 8

I am typically a size 10 in everything but lately I’ve been floating between a 10 & an 8 depending on the style and cut. This is one of those times where I would easily size down to an 8. I really liked this tank a lot so I purchased the green in my size 10 because the store didn’t have an 8 in this color, but I think you can see from the grey Low Key Tank that the 8 really fits me better. I’ll hopefully order the 8 online tonight if it uploads. It’s very relaxed and loose fitting, and also long. You can see just how loose fitting it is from the side view.

Sun Setter Tank size 10

This is my usual size 10 but because of the nature of this material (nulux) and the tighter fit, I would feel more comfortable getting this in a size up. It’s not that it felt tight, it was just really clingy and the material shows every single lump and bump. These feels downright loose fitting compared to a Power Y because of the extra stretch. Unfortunately for me the built in bra isn’t supportive enough for me so I would need to double this up with a proper bra underneath. I will consider this tank for markdown, but it is nice.

Arise Cropped LS size 10

This is another item I would prefer in a size up. The overall fit is right, it’s just snug where it comes in at the waist, and it hits me at an unfortunate spot. I otherwise really liked this top a lot as a layering piece and I would definitely get it if it comes in a 12. In my store I only saw this up to a 10. I really liked the open neckline and the low cut back – it’s very ballerina inspired.

Really unfortunate spot for this hemline on me.

OOTD|Wunder Under Crop Hi-Rise Arrow Jacquard, Going Places Hooded Jacket, Navy Swiftly Tech LS

by Cristina April 17, 2017
written by Cristina

So this post is a new thing for my blog that I’ve been working on for you guys (and of course for myself). I have been working on getting a good blog photography set-up so I could do better quality fit reviews for you for online orders, and also do OOTD posts. For those of you that are OG’s to this blog you know my old set up of standing in front of the only full size mirror in my home and using my cell phone. That just wasn’t cutting it anymore with my new blog layout that I invested in and so I’ve been stressing out a bit about how to get good selfies without using that crappy mirror. I’m also not a photographer so I’m trying to learn how to properly set up the camera for lighting. I promise you I won’t be doing any photo retouching other than brightening photos.  I’m not there yet as far as photo quality as you can tell, but I’m working on it. I have a few more tweaks and changes for my blog up my sleeve but those will roll out within the next few weeks and months. One of the changes I have planned is a feature that makes my photos load much quicker for you. I know that’s been a huge pain for you guys – it’s just a really involved and complicated back end adjustment.

So what do you guys think? If you have any critiques for me or suggestions, I’d love to hear it.

Wunder Under Hi-Rise Crop Arrow Jacquard, Midnight Navy Swiftly Tech LS

My ootd today is for the holiday WOD which includes some lifting, so I have to bring my lifting shoes. I love my nike metcons but I’ve found they dig in just underneath the lateral malleolus on my foot with certain lifts.

Lululemon try ons of the Arrow Jacquard Wunder Under Crops and the Going Places Hooded Jacket

Going Places Hooded Jacket

I sized down in the Going Places Hooded Jacket on my friends recommendation. I loved this jacket when it first uploaded but when I purchased it in my TTS I just didn’t like how boxy it was on me. I returned it, then went to repurchase it a few weeks later because I was so torn on it and my friend told me I needed to try the size down first. Voila! Sizing down solved the boxy fit issues I was having with this jacket and I love it so much more now. I think it’s the perfect to/from jacket for the gym because it’s light weight, and you can throw it on after a workout when you start to get very cold and it really keeps you warm without overheating you.

Sephora VIB Sale 2017

by Cristina April 15, 2017
written by Cristina

The Sephora VIB and VIB rouge sale is coming up this week! If you are a VIB Rouge the sale starts a bit earlier  on 4/18 – 4/24 and if you are VIB the sale starts 4/20 and goes to 4/24. You need to use the code ROUGESPRING and that gets you 15% off online and in store, or VIBSPRING if you are the first tier  VIB member, also for 15%. Sephora only runs this sale twice per year, once in the spring and once before Christmas. I use this as an opportunity to stock up higher end brands that never go on sale, that are my regular rotation items. If budget allows I splurge on something new I want to try, but generally my priorities are to restock up on pricey favourites.

http://rstyle.me/n/cktdykbhjk7

1. Sunday Riley 2. Estee Lauder 3. Erborian 4. Bobbi Brown 5. Laura Mercier

6. Becca 7. Bobbi Brown 8. Bobbi Brown 9. Yves Saint Laurent 10. Tart

I really love both the foundations I have here. I use my Estee Lauder Double Wear for very dressy occasions, and I use my Bobbi Brown foundation stick daily. I would call them both medium coverage but the bobbi brown packaging just lends itself to quick on the go application. I would say my favourite makeup category is complexion products.

My go too under eye concealer (and I’ve tried a lot) is the bobby brown in baked bisque. It’s the perfect peach to counteract dark circles, and it doesn’t have any shimmer in it. The texture is really nice if your skin is dry or aged. The eyeliner is great too but I do use a variety of different liners – pen, gel, gel pencil, pencil. This one seems easiest to use with a good flat edged brush – I’m not sure I need to restock it at this point.  An obsession of mine is the YSL lip oil. It is the most wonderful texture and leaves the prettiest translucent color, and stain. This is my go too daily when I don’t feel like doing a proper lipstick. I have it in both cherry and rose and my rose is running low so I definitely want to get that one.

Sunday Riley Good Genes recently came out in a 100 point perk sample so I got to try it, and I really liked it. I’m a huge fan of lactic acid. This is a very gentle but very effective exfoliant. I love that it brightens my skin and retexturizes, and allows my subsequent skin care to absorb much better.

New to me in this list is the Erborian Solid Cleansing Oil. I love a cleansing balm and I’ve used a few different ones this past year – Clinique Take The Day Off, The Body Shop Chamomile, Beautycounter – all have been fantastic. I really love this texture of cleanser and from what I remember from checking this one out in Toronto, the Erborian one smells fantastic. I am running very low on my Body Shop balm so I definitely need to repurchase a cleanser, so although this is a new product to try I think I’m going to get it.

Do you have a shopping list going for the Sephora sale? Let me know in the comments what you use and love from Sephora. I’m always very curious about what other peoples beauty product selections look like. This is a working list for me that I’ll be playing around with for the coming week. I definitely can’t get it all so I have to be very choosy about what does make it into my shopping basket on Tuesday night.

Easter Product Drop

by Cristina April 14, 2017
written by Cristina

Happy Easter to those of you that celebrate! Lululemon has done a surprise product drop today (likely because Monday is the stat holiday/non delivery day). In today’s product drop, the Fast and Free 7/8 Tight in Black Grape have appeared! I’m racing to my store this afternoon to pick one up. I’m also liking the Namaste Vancouver tee. Huge thank you to Ms. K for her store photos – this is a Canadian store FYI.

*I checked my local store and they did not get this product drop yet. This should all be uploaded to the website on Tuesday.

Black Grape Fast And Free 7/8 Tight

This is cute!

I kinda like this crop top. Lululemon did one of these years ago in 2010 and they where very popular. I wonder if this one is nulux.

Is this beautiful green color code ‘DKFR’ Dark Forest?

Fit Review|Fast And Free Crop, Mind Over Miles Short Sleeve, Wunder Under Hi-Rise Arrow Jacquard, Freshly Pant, Loop Back Hoodie

by Cristina April 13, 2017
written by Cristina

I may have made a few purchases at Lululemon today.

Fast And Free Crop *Nulux TTS 10

In love with these!! What was I thinking? I had been complaining for years now that the item I most need from Lululemon are luxtreme run tights without any mesh, and here they where right under my nose. This is what I most like to wear for Crossfit and especially for lifting so I had to snatch these up. They are very soft and opaque but with slight compression in the waist. I found these flattering and comfortable and a great length for me.

http://rstyle.me/n/ckmdrnbhjk7

Mind Over Miles Short Sleeve with Fast And Free Crop *Nulux TTS 10

I would have really loved this top a lot if it wasn’t for the top to bottom mesh in the back. This tee has really great design details on it with a nicely edged neck, cuffed hem and flattering yet loose fit. I really liked that this didn’t look boxy or short on me. I’ve learned to really appreciate doing olympic lifting in these technical material tee shirts because the higher neckline means I’m not completely exposing my boobs in the chest over bar position. I’m definitely going to consider this one for markdown but to be honest, that mesh back really makes me cranky because this tee is otherwise perfection. The amount of ventilation you get with a fully meshed back is minuscule on an already light weight top like this – it’s so unnecessary.

I even liked the cut of this tee with my jeans for casual wear.

http://rstyle.me/n/ckmdtkbhjk7

Wunder Under Hi-Rise 7/8 Tight Arrow Jacquard TTS 10

Oh my!! I fell in love hard with this print. I really didn’t think much of it with the online web photos but I’ve seen a few try-on photos on Facebook and the print is so much more flattering and dimensional than it’s portrayed online. This morning I saw an especially great photo of them so I decided to give them a chance today and I’m so glad I did. The jacquard luon is a knit but it’s a really soft stretchy knit, not one of those really stiff itchy jacquards that lululemon has put out over winter. I was surprised to see so much blue in the print in person – online the print looks really faded and washed out. I might have passed on these if they only came in the longer length but because they come in hi-rise cropped I had to get them.

http://rstyle.me/n/ckmdzibhjk7

Wunder Under Crop Hi-Rise Arrow Jacquard TTS 10

These are the ones I ended up with. I liked both the 7/8 and this one but the cropped length is more versatile for me for working out in.

http://rstyle.me/n/ckmdw8bhjk7

Freshly Pant Black Grape TTS 10

These are a nice light track pant for spring, and I love the black grape. Unfortunately they are too long on me and I would probably hem them to 7/8 length. They look fine with folded hems but I think in this style of tapered leg I prefer a cleaner edge and a shorter length. I also really liked the smooth wide waistband on these. I don’t need track pants for casual wear so these are not on my want list, but they aren’t bad at all.

http://rstyle.me/n/ckmd2xbhjk7

Loop Back Hoodie size down – 8

I tried this hoodie on the other day in my TTS and it was definitely too big. This jacket looks way better sized down, and it’s still roomy, it’s just much less boxy. Because I purchased Fast And Free Crops and the Arrow Jacquard WUC’s, this is off my ‘maybe’ list.

Guest Fit Review|Mind Over Miles Crop, Wunder Under Hi-Rise Kindred Spirit, Mind Over Miles LS, Swell Chaser Short, Quicksand Hotty Hot Shorts

by Cristina April 13, 2017
written by Cristina

Amazing reader ‘Mrs. O’ has shared with us some fit reviews with the help of her awesome husband taking photos for us. Huge thank you to the both of them!!

If you’d like to share fit reviews, you can email me at [email protected], or if you’d like to share or read fit reviews on the Lululemon Reviews Group on facebook, click on the link to join.

Mrs. O’s Fit Review:

Mind Over Miles Crop White

I love the style of this crop because of the mesh on the sides (sorry I forgot to take a side picture).  I was hopeful it would not be sheer because it was double paneled.  But it was.  Sheer in my TTS and one size up.  I purposely wear dark undies when testing light colored tights.  I don’t think the sheerness is as evident in the “bend test” pictures.  In person, it was definitely sheer.  I suppose if I wore nude undies and tore off the tag, the sheer factor wouldn’t be as noticeable but I don’t feel that I should have to alter what I wear underneath.  If LLL is going to produce white tights, then they must make them opaque.  I haven’t tried on any white tights from other brands but I wonder if it’s just the white color factor.  These fit TTS.

Mind Over Miles Crop Marvel

These crops fit TTS.  The deep color of Marvel fixed the sheerness factor.  I really like the look of these crops.  The waist band is thinner than the white pair because it is not double paneled.  However, in Marvel and Black, the uppermost part of the waist band is tighter than a plain Luxtreme waist band.  It appears to be made out of a slightly different, less giving material.  So, while the tights fit fine everywhere, it dug into my my waist at the very top.  If you look at the store photos LLM posted (the brunette wearing the Marvel crops), you can see what I’m describing.  The white pair didn’t do that.  I took a picture of both waist bands side by side so you can see the slightly different fabric.  LLL used the same fabric on top of the outside hidden pocket as well.  The waist band was too uncomfortable for me.  I would constantly be sucking in so I didn’t have a muffin top.  I’m sure it would work for the really toned, lean ladies out there.

http://rstyle.me/n/ckjwisbhjk7

Wunder Under Hi-Rise 7/8 Tight Kindred Spirit

I ordered (and tried on in the store) the Kindred Spirit Black WU (Luxtreme) because it wasn’t made in the Fast and Free style.  The GECs didn’t think this pattern would come in Nulux in the Fast and Free Tight or Crop.  I won’t be taking off the tags for awhile in hopes that the GECs were wrong.  This tight is NOT sheer like the Kindred Spirit Alpine White.  The pattern was screen printed on light grey so when you do the bend test, you see the grey undertone but it is not sheer.  I double checked throughout the store in different lighting.  So, if this print never comes in Nulux, I will be keeping these WU.

http://rstyle.me/n/ckjwj2bhjk7

Mind Over Miles LS

This LS fit TTS.  I really liked the laser cut ventilation panels and I like Luxtreme.  I bought this LS and the white Swiftly LS Breeze.  I feel that the Luxtreme doesn’t drape as well as the Swiftly Breeze.  And it’s $10 more than the Swiftly Breeze.  I took them home to decide.  But I may end up returning both because of the draping issue of the Luxtreme, and the thin cuffs and no thumb holes on the Swiftly LS Breeze.

http://rstyle.me/n/ckjwp6bhjk7

Hotty Hot Short

I know all of you know how the Hotty Hot Short fits but I wanted to see the new color, Quicksand.  None of the stores received the Anew Short in Quicksand, which was what I originally wanted to try on.  I’m really interested in the Anew Short because it is not lined and has a feminine touch to it.  The Hotty Hot Short is not a short that fits me as well as Speeds and Tracker Short IV.   I really like this new color.  I hope it comes out in different items.  I was told the Anew Short should arrive in stores sometime next week.

If you’ve never tried on Hotty Hot Shorts, these shorts are TTS.  This pair was the 2.5″ inseam.  I tried on one size larger but the proportions were off.  Hotty Hot Shorts also come in a 4″ inseam but those shorts sit on my thighs funny like the Run Time Short does on me.

Do any of you ladies have an issue with the liners in the shorts?  I find that the leg hem is too thick and creates a line causing a double butt or horrible VPL.  The educators in the stores complained about it as well.  I just learned that certain stores (depending on the tailor the store uses) will remove the inner lining from shorts.  I was specifically told that the Santa Monica Third Street Promenade store (which has a tailor in house) will remove the liners.  I also think Brentwood will also do it (but I need to confirm).  I’m going to test it out on a pair of Speeds to see if I like it better without the liner.  If I do, I’m taking all my shorts in.

http://rstyle.me/n/ckjyb9bhjk7

Swell Chaser Short

I have never tried on any Lululemon swim wear so I decided to try on the swim shorts because I liked the lipstick color.  These shorts are TTS.  Because the material is very thin (probably for the fast drying factor) and clingy, I didn’t think it looked that flattering.  There is no liner and the shorts are short in the back (not like speeds where the back is a bit longer).  I also think that this type of swim short is not flattering on my body type.  It would look great on slimmer ladies.  Also, because there is no lining, I’d feel self conscious if I went in the water and came out of it dripping wet.  I would be afraid that the shorts would ride up and show my “secret” parts.  LOL.

Wistful Sneaker Shopping

by Cristina April 13, 2017
written by Cristina

I’m calling this post ‘wistful’ sneaker shopping because not one of these sneakers are locally available for me to try on easily, some of them are selling out the instant they hit retailers shelves (and being flipped), and some of them are ridiculously priced once you factor in conversion rates, duties and shipping for us Canadians. The #3’s have been teasing me on the lululemon website pictures for some time, so if you are curious what the models have been wearing, here they are.  I’m getting a gift card from my parents for my birthday and I’m hoping to maybe, possibly score #2. I’m just loving this blush pink and soft peach sneaker trend.
