You guys, I have a brand I’ve become really obsessed with. As obsessed as I am with Lululemon. It’s the French brand Sezane! I had heard about Sezane for a few years now in the fashion blogger community but I had never seen anything in person so didn’t know much about the brand. I then discovered one of their cult classic jumpers at my local thrift store no less, and felt like I had discovered a Chanel handbag for pennies. It is so beautiful and such amazing quality. I had purchased it to resell because it was a size down from my usual, but I ended up keeping it for myself (even though it resales for higher than it’s retail). It fits beautifully since it’s an oversized fit. Here is a peek at it from another blog post.
About Sezane
Sezane is a Parisian brand with a couple of stores in Paris, and one store in New York. It is a favourite clothing brand for Parisian women and has a cult following just like Lululemon complete with facebook groups, robust reselling pages and special hashtags for fans. Madewell did a collaboration with Sezane a few years ago called Madewell Et Sezane.
The frustrating thing about Sezane is that they do limited capsule releases every season and once items are sold out, they are gone. From what I gather from the french speaking facebook group, they do a mini pre season release and then the main season release which in this case happened this morning. Items sell out within hours because there are fan groups dedicated to watching the uploads. Sound familiar? Sezane has their cult favourite items which do come back season after season in different colors, but you have to wait for them and snag them when they upload . Here is an article about the Barry Jumper which had a wait list of 30,000.
If you are shopping the Sezane website from the US you are very lucky because you get free and fast shipping. Us Canadians have the very unfortunate issue of userous duties and import taxes in addition to expensive shipping. There are a ton of Sezane shoppers from Canada though and they just hold their noses at the Canadian Shopper Burden, or they somehow get items shipped to a US address and arrange forwarding and pay a more reasonable duty/tax rate. The better work around I’ve found though is shopping consignment for Sezane on eBay.
Have you guys purchased anything from Sezane before? I plan to blog much more about Sezane and I’ll be keeping you guys up to date with when the new product drops happen, and, when the yearly sale happens too.

Here are my favourite Sezane Spring 2019 Pieces
Ethel Blouse
My order from today’s upload. I just got this Ethel Blouse but there are many other pieces I wish I could have gotten. I’m looking forward to checking out the New York Sezane store in July.
Massia Blouse
The Massia Blouse was my first online, none consignment purchase which I made with the pre-Spring mini upload. I really love it. I chose size 12, and worried that it may be a smaller fit since it is a French brand. Luckily it’s a comfortable loose fit. It’s perfect for Spring/Summer because the material is really great quality crisp cotten and it’s very light and breezy.

Sonia Top
I am really tempted by this top but I’m holding off for now.
Andrea Blouse
Caroline Blouse
I love this floral print.
Marguerite Jumper
I love this jumper so much, and if I could justify a sweater for Spring/Summer I would absolutely get this.
Bart T-shirt
Garance Dress

I’ve been buying Sezane for the past year or so. They have mastered the scarcity model and the drop for sure. I probably return about half of what I order, but what I keep feels “special” to me and I end up wearing those pieces a lot. My latest purchases were the Lena dress and the Ninon belt, both in black. I may return the dress, still undecided.
I think the dress is beautiful. Did you get it in the red?
It was the black crepe Lena dress. It’s sold out, which is surprising as it’s quite a “boring” dress, but it’s a very wearable dress that’s slightly elevated. I am returning it as my regular size ran a little large, and my family gave it the thumbs down.
Sezane reminds me of the early days of lululemon, and it will be an interesting brand to watch. I am lucky that I’m in the US and this allows for easy shipping and returns. I do think this is a “must try on first” brand, at least for now. I liked it when Nordstrom carried it because there were online reviews. I am not on Facebook and never wish to be, so am not on any Sezane groups. I mostly check youtube for reviews (and now this blog)!
Personally I have loved their jewelry, belts, summer tops, and dresses. I find their sweaters to be meh. I have on my list to try their denim at some point.
I saw sexane online at Nordstrom’s but does Nordstrom no longer carry it? Or do they not carry it on the Canadian Nordstrom site??
They used to carry it but then stopped. I wonder if it’s just season capsules that Nordstrom will occasionally get in.
The Ethel blouse is gorgeous! I’ll have to check out the website.
ehhh I tried Sezane a number of times, but I wasn’t impressed by the quality. Their shirts are very boxy. I love how their clothes look on the model but I didn’t end up keeping most of the pieces I’ve ordered. wish it worked more for me.
I tried a few of their pieces when I was in Paris last year. I found a lot of their dresses no-go for an hourglass figure. The fit was just never right on me. They were beautiful though. I didn’t like their knits as they felt scratchy. I much prefer Aritzia’s knits.
I like some of the blouses I see in their current catalog but I’m worried about fit on my large chest. I also don’t want to spend so much on shipping + duties to Canada.
I decided through travelling and trying out different clothes that the Italian clothing fit me much better than the French ones.
I’d love to know your Italian brand recommendations if you know of any available in Canada/US. I am pretty certain that French brand bottoms would not work for me, but the tops and knits have been great so far.
Kind of reminds me of Anthropologie when they were great. (2005). I’ll take a look and see if they have anything that might fit a petite person!
Oh I forgot to add, they have very nice looking vegetable tan leather bags as well. I came pretty close on pulling the trigger on their Farrow bag a couple of months ago. I did not look at their clothes back then.
I decided order the Ethel blouse too! I’m looking forward to getting it. It’s my first time ordering Sezane, I hope it fits. Thanks for the heads up on this brand. So many pretty things. It’s the kind of stuff I look for, but feel like a rarely find any more. I agree with Leslie, it’s like Anthro used to be!!
I picked mine up yesterday and am completely in love with it. I’m hoping to have pictures up with my fit review tomorrow.
