Lululemon Upload! The Lululemon new product upload is live!
I’ve been away for the past few days without wifi, so fewer blog posts this past week, but still lots of great stuff to share. Last weeks posts: Best NSALE Shoe Picks, The Lululemon Upload, Fitspo Bloggers I love, Carbon38
Upload Intro
Well, this is a rather large and colorful upload! I’m loving it! Nothing I’m coveting for myself at the moment but I do love the purple Street To Studio Tank, and the Rally Your Heart Tank. The Exposure Multi Print is great and I like the rainbow stripe on the Spectrum Wunder Unders but not the print overall.
The Upload Shoe Game
What I’m really loving on upload day is spotting the shoes that Lululemon is using to style the new products. It’s become a fun (and almost obsessive) game for me to try and identify the shoes so I can feature them at the bottom of this post. There are around 3 that I have yet to identify but I seem to be able to find most of them. If you want to play along with my obsessive little upload game, let me know in the comments if you’ve identified something I’ve missed. Aren’t you impressed I found these ones today?

I have loved these shoes (shown above) and coveted them for years, but man, I hate how they are styled here with the Street To Studio Pant. I dream of wearing them in this outfit, with these jeans.
I don’t mind them the way they are styled here though. Still, not how I would style them.

The prints are rather hideous. Was so hoping for Camo.
I completely agree. I don’t even want a hand towel in these prints.
Haha!!! Yes exactly my thoughts. Not even a hand towel.
Spectrum Wunder Under are quite eh…. , eh….., eh…..(BLANK) print.
Cristina, do we have a list of lulu most questionable print? like a top 3 of the best too that could be fun?
hihihi hand towel comment!
Oh that would be such a long list but definitely something I could cook up one day (maybe soon). I used to do a best and worst of list on January 1 every year.
I use to love your best and worst list, that’s how I originally found your blog a few years ago when I first started buying Lulu and wanted some recommendations on older things to look out for
That’s so funny! I had no idea that the best/worst list drew in new readers. I’ll definitely do it again.
I’ll add that I loved your best/worst posts too. I’ve often consulted them while looking for older gems off ebay and poshmark.
I can’t believe that finally they are showing which size the model is using!! Or is that old news?
There used to be a little blip if you clicked or hovered on some of the photos but they always said that the models were wearing a 6. I found that very hard to believe.
Why? The models’ height was usually listed at 5’9”-5’11”. I’m 5’9” and a little chunkier than the models and I wear either a 6 or an 8.
Not all of their models are the same size/build yet they had everyone listed with the same size. So yes, I find that suspicious like they weren’t actually focusing on accuracy.
It does seem unrealistic that every model is a size 6 in every size though. I’m 5’10”, 140 and muscular, and I wear a 2-4 in leggings. The models appear much slimmer, so I think that is where RunRunYogi is coming from. My guess is they just put in size 6 for everything.
I agree about the questionable sizing. I’m 5’9” and just under 150lbs. I wear a size 4 in the Fast and Frees. And I definitely outweigh the slim models.
Yea that is odd that they list them all in 6s. yet many different body types. They can’t all be a 6.
Haha, that’s funny. I made a comment (on this blog I think) back in the day when they started putting size 6 for every model and how unlikely that they were all size 6 on eerything and I got attacked for it lol. Most of these models are incredibly thin. I am 5’6″ and 145 lbs and wear a size 6 so I find it VERY hard to believe that these models do too. The more plausible theory is like what everyone has said and that LLL is too lazy to actually put the real sizes that the models are wearing. I don’t understand why. American Eagle does it and they have much more merchandise than LLL does.
Yeah I don’t get why this is hard. Revolve, Shopbop, etc. all share the size the model is wearing and they have thousands of products across hundreds of brands…
What is this Ultralux fabric?? Anyone know?
I still want to purchase the True Navy in the Fast & Free Tights (they’re restocked) but nothing else is appealing to me right now. I finally tried the Love Tank Pleat on in the store, it is a much nicer fit than the Love Tank, not as boxy. They’re tempting, but I’m still not 100% sold on them as they don’t seem quite as long as the Yogi Racerbacks.
I love the hooded define, but not the colors offered. Hopefully, there will be more in the coming weeks. I’m interested in the exposure print. I’ll wait to see IRL.
I bought the hooded define jacket in black from my local store this past weekend. The nulu fabric is so soft and makes for a perfect lightweight layer. I also like the added hood. I figure it’ll work for traveling as well as to/from workouts. Also I had to size up in this jacket. I’m usually a 4 in tops, 6 in bras, and I went with a 6 for the jacket.
Nothing again for me this week. Not into these prints. I can’t get over how different these prints and colours are in person or from other photos versus these stock photos. Take a look at Lululemon Addict posted pic of the print Spectrum. Also I saw the Open Tie Back (tank style) today and the olive green is much darker and nicer in person than shown in stock pics. I seriously cannot trust what I see online for colours. What’s with the all the rain jackets that look alike? The Rain Rules looks like Cloud Crush and Rain Haven, come on LLL get back to your creative roots with jacket designs. They are so basic and plain now, nothing like what they used to produce.
I did spot a few new items from stock photos that we should see in the near future. Look at the baller hat pic and you will see a plum colour down jacket, the upper portion only. The colour looks nice and will hope it’s not a cropped jacket but the odds are that it will be. Also some new navy pants shown with the olive green bomber jacket. They look a little weird with the the fabric from the knee down a narrower cut unless they pinned them back for the photo, like they do tops!!!
You’re right, the colors are totally different in person. I’m always ready to be surprised when I order online!
So before seeing any of the posts, I had just ordered the spectrum print in luxtreme and two pairs of shorts to see which would fit better. I haven’t ordered any shorts before, but I loved the light blue in the print and thought I would chance it if it was too much in the pants. After seeing the real life print, they’ll all be going back. Lulu needs to do a better job because my constant returns due to color inconsistency must be costing them big bucks, not to mention my ire.
oops. OMG. I meant the exposure print. God. So glad I posted as anonymous. DID NOT order the spectrum…. 😀
ANON 2:54, I think the jacket you spotted at the baller hat picture is the Pack It Down Jacket. We will probably get it in another, Black Cherry-like, colour. The pants on the model featuring the olive green bomber jacket (assuming you mean the Flip It & Reverse It Jacket ) are the City Trek Trouser (they look more black to me on the picture than navy). It is interesting to see how the same item looks different on people. I think LLL should bring more curvy models to their website, so there is no need to pin clothing back.
You are right, it is the Pack It Down Jacket. I saw it on the UK site in the plum colour.
It’s called Cassis, so I guess it’s more raisin than plum. 🙂 I’m curious to see what the actual color looks like, since the website’s colors are so messed up.
I bought the Pack It Down in Sage, and really like it. No idea how it’ll do in cold weather, but it stood the test of air conditioning. It’s long and lean, true to Old Lulu cuts. No thumb holes or elastic cuffs, but the arms are long, so I don’t miss either of those features. The fabric is nice and soft. The color, of course, bears little resemblance to the website. It’s much darker in person, but I actually prefer the real thing to the bleached out version you can see online. The hood zips out. I like that the inside pocket is the same latitude as the outer pockets, rather than higher up. My Patagonia down jacket’s inside pocket is chest-level, so when I put something bulky like my phone in there, it looks really odd. The Pack It Down seems to be better thought out.
I wish the Camo had uploaded. Don’t like the prints at all, none of them. The shoes are also not cute and styled with the street to studio pants is very funny. Not sure what’s going on with Lululemon but I will admit this upload gave me a good laugh.
Oh i love the prints…colour and prints…yay. But in small doses.. Maybe shorts or bra. I didnt think i would like them but in person they are pretty. A bit late in season but still its colour and fun! The culture print does remind me of a mix between culture clash…which had white as background rather than black and the new seawheeze print. I found the teal in the fabric of the bra to be more light Caribbean green side and shorts it was more pacific teal. I preferred hues in bra than shorts so i left it to see if the fast and free are similar to bra. The lily pattern was pretty with the lilac colour mixed in but i would prefer shorts. The white pattern with water cokours caught my eye too but hotty shorts are way too poofy for me….lol my legs look like sticks with a paper bag on my torso.
Im curious if the flamenco red is a true red red. I could go for a swiftly in that.
Love that we all have varying tastes. I respect those who like neutral and solids…. I did get the ugly garden spped shorts but just the waistband had the print and i got the matching bra but the straps are black white patterned…which i love. I neutralize it with solid dark crb or white.
Bought the rainbow pants! Just kidding. Lol
LOL getting lots of laughs here today
I’m another who likes the prints in small doses. I much prefer some prints to mix with all of my solids.
I need to sell some old Lulu in order to buy new though!
What was the stylist thinking pairing those boots with Street To Studios, definitely not a good look, but a good laugh.
Christina, I agree with you about the rainbow stripe on the spectrum Wunder under. Just imagine how cool that rainbow stripe would look on a solid colored background instead of a floral background.
That stripe would look much better on solid. And it would have more impact. As it is, it gets lost in all of the flowers (or whatever that print is supposed to be).
I would totally love it in a solid. The rainbow side has a bit of a retro feel but smudging it down the side would make it really modern. I bet you it would be amazing on a navy background.
I came to the same conclusion. I was initially thinking black, dark gray, or navy. But I think navy would look the best, too. Their design team needs our help! ?
dude. i actually snorted sparkling water out my nose when i saw those booties with the street to studios. that is just so wrong and embarrassing for them. the skirt outfit is better but it is still NOT OKAY to wear $600 leather booties with a poly-blend athletic miniskirt EVER no matter what. its also shameful because someone might see these photos and think it’s “cool” and actually do this IRL. omg, I’m blushing vicariously just thinking about it.
i do love your shoe focus though – so much more fun than LLL these days!
i have a three-strap-sneaker obsession i think. i actually had a dream that i was wearing them… not a good sign.
hihihih your craking me up @BUGGIE. : dreaming of them!
I am so with you. Poly blend pants go with Adidas slides or flip flops or cute converse sneakers, not $600 Chelsea boots. The end.
Thank you Cristina for the Shoes hunting, it is indeed the best part of lulu upload lately!
Waiting the Tuck and Flow Long Sleeve to arrive in North America, it seems to be a long journey from Down Under…
Question: could the Spectrum print created right after the customer survey that highlighted a lack of colors and fun print?! Look what “it” gave birth to?!
See this upload was great. Lots of laughs all around. From ugly unicorn pants to boots, offering good entertainment for all. Nothing for me today, this upload was sad.
Ha! Love you guys! Missed this community this past week.
The last few years many have been begging Lululemon for color, so now they bring us the rainbow/flower monstrosity. Careful what you wish for…
Forgive me lulu community for saying so… I signed up for fabletics a couple years ago and have only made two purchases but these prints (minus spectrum bc they’re just in their own category) really remind me of my fabletics emails. They’re pretty… but I think it’s going back to the question of whether or not women’s athletic apparel has just become too big of a market and it’s hard to get excited about much any more. That’s my experience anyway. I’m seeing some really awful “slimming” photoshop attempts again in this upload too, which is annoying. And an interesting side note, I’m not sure if anyone else noticed but the baldish model that got a lot of attention when she first popped up is also a Hurley model (owned by Nike). She was featured in my last Hurley emails and just seems strange that two huge activewear companies would have the same model. Good for her!!! Lol but weird to see as a consumer..
The photoshop slimming really pisses me off.
This is so interesting! I’ve never noticed slimming photoshop work with Lululemon (but I’m not perceptive on these types of things generally). Can someone point out a picture where I can see it?
It is most obvious to me on the purple tank tops. The white in between her arms and the tank are a different color than the background and the edges of the tank and models arm are blurred where they “slimmed” everything down. It is more or less noticeable/obvious depending on your screen size I think.
She is also in the new athleta catalog.
Not into the prints, but loving some of the fall colors: antique bark, moonphase, savannah, and black satin. I’m super tempted to get the in movement tights and crops in those colors, but I feel like I’d just be asking for swass! Maybe for upper body / yoga days…
I must be a minority again but this rainbow print got me interested in Lulu again. But I prefer luxtreme so does anyone know if it’s coming out in luxtreme?
I think it’s cute, too. It reminds me of The Upside’s style.
I’ve posted this before, but I’m just not sure who their target market is anymore. This stuff manages to be overly twee while also being dowdy…not sure how that’s even possible, but my money is being better spent elsewhere. I just don’t identify with LLL at this point.
Nothing for me this upload but it was interesting indeed to see all the fun prints and colors, even if they’re not my cup of tea.
I’m probably the only one excited for Lulu’s fall sweaters. I checked my local Lululemon this morning for the cardi but they aren’t stocking it yet. I’m trying not to jump on this, because I’m hoping that they roll out more sweaters as fall progresses and I don’t need more than one or two.
I wonder what ‘Cashlu’ is—I hope it’s not a fragile fabric because the sweater on the model looks a little thin?
