I just came home from picking up My Favorite Jeans From The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (and filling up on cheap gas!). You may remember that I tried these jeans at the Vancouver Nordstrom, but that they had a limited size run and I was only able to try on my size down. As luck would have it, my size popped up online when they restocked for the Public Access so I was able to quickly order them and today I picked them up at my PO box. I know a lot of shoppers are frustrated that certain items are sold out from the sale already but I just had a look online and these jeans have a full size run at the moment. The sale ends on Sunday, August 5th so if you are still shopping around for denim, these (and my other favorites) are still available.
I tried on a ton of jeans from this sale (all designer denim) and I liked a lot of the ones I tried on, but these are my favorites for this year and the first item I’m committing to detagging. My tried and true favorites will always be the AG Jeans, but these are a brand new style and brand for me and I can’t wait to wear them.
MOTHER The Looker Frayed Ankle Skinny Jean ‘Thunderstruck Racer’
I have a thing for light blue denim. I think it’s because they suit my casual style the best and pair nicely with tee shirt and sneakers which is what I wear 95% of my life. Not only are these the perfect shade of blue for me, but the blush pink jersey racing stripe on the sides is completely adorable. These are probably the softest pair of denim I own. They are not the stretchiest and they are nice and thick. I don’t know why but I hate jeans that are too stretchy because I don’t feel smoothed out or sucked in enough and they just don’t feel like jeans to me. I want jeans that mold to my body and that don’t bag out. I love that these feel substantial and not flimsy at all.
As far as sizing goes, I float between two sizes but in this pair, I needed my TTS. My lower size fit (you can see the try on here) but they felt snug and I also didn’t like the crease lines at the back of my thigh. This is a 9 1/2″ front rise which is the perfect rise for me as it smooths out my tummy area. If you are on the hunt for a casual pair of jeans to wear with sneakers and a tee, this is the pair for you. If you want a dressier denim, I recommend these AG Jeans which are also still in stock in a full-size run and I also loved.

These look so cute!
Thanks! I agree I think they are the cutest.
You look amazing in those jeans.
❤️ Thank you!
currently it says sold out in all sizes 🙁
so cute, waaaaaaah
I no!!! I checked several times yesterday and it was full size (except for 32). I wouldn’t have posted if the size run wasn’t so full. Must be the last minute purchases before the sale is over.
a size 30 popped up so i grabbed it. I’m usually a 29 but from the reviews the 30 might work. it already shipped, so we shall see 🙂
Ooo I love the racer stripe!! It’s so eye catching! 😀
they’re super cute. i just ordered the AG boyfriend jeans–my fourth pair of new jeans (third pair from this sale) but now I’ll be set for jeans for a good long while. planning to consign my old jeans that are not as nice 🙂
Ooops rag and bone boyfriend jeans 🙂
You will love them!
Yup, I pretty much buy all my jeans for the year in this sale, and truthfully the jeans last me 3-4 years in some cases so they are worthy investments.
Exactly! Love it. I used to buy designer jeans, but then I had kids and after my second kid, never lost the “baby weight.” I kept saying “I’ll wait til I lose it to buy nice jeans …” but the truth is, this is me, now, and I am curvy. I can still try to lose a couple pounds, but these type of jeans still will fit given the style/cut 🙂 It makes way more sense than buying cheap jeans but having multiple pairs. I ordered them in a size down like the reviews said … we’ll see! The black Rag and Bones fit me fine in my “actual” size, so I will let you know when they come!
