The Lululemon Upload

The Lululemon Upload is live! For the men’s line there is a new Lululemon X Robert Geller collection that uploaded last night.

Yet another little itty bitty upload. I’m surprised there isn’t more in this upload. Nothing for me this week but I have been eying up the In Depth Jacket *Lace. Have you tried it? I’d love to know your thoughts. Last week the Above The Clouds Jacket I ordered arrived and I absolutely love it. I haven’t loved a Lululemon Bomber Jacket until this one. It’s definitely a light, warm weather jacket but such a great style piece.

I’m also really surprised at the timing of these light uploads. The men’s line gets an awesome collection this week with the Robert Geller capsule (right before Mothers Day?), and there are rumours that Lululemon is planning a shoe line created by them (alo yoga already does this) and that is why the APL shoes got discontinued from the stores. Why are they putting so much focus away from their core customer and core product lines? They are really missing out on Mothers Day shopping with this upload. Half a year is already past with week after week of small cobbled together uploads. How long do customers wait for the product to ramp up back to normal before completely losing interest?

The Lululemon Upload is live!

Lots of great travel/commuting gear options today with the Wander Line, the new Get Going Dress and the light weight Hood Lite Jacket today. I fell in love with the Above The Clouds Jacket and I can’t remember if we saw that in last weeks upload, or if it’s new this week. Regardless, I love the evergreen one and I’m going to try that one out.

My trip to Disneyland last week was so awesome. I had such a great time with my family. I don’t normally travel with a lot of Lululemon stuff since I rarely get to a workout on vacation, but since I knew we where going to do a ton of walking (we did 12 miles everyday for 3 days) and very little occasion for fancy nights out I packed zero jeans or dressy tops, and only Lululemon clothes this time. My favourites where my Align Joggers and crops, Love Tee, Everywhere Belt Bag and my Seawheeze Gather Me Slightly Jacket. It was literally the most comfortable vacation I have ever taken. I’ve always appreciated that Lululemon is great for travel but I’ve never taken full advantage of it before outside of my airplane clothes and my carry-on backpack.

Do you guys wear Lululemon when you travel? What’s your favourite?

The Best Distressed Hoodie | Alo Yoga Ripped Hoodie

by Cristina April 27, 2019
written by Cristina

I found the best The Best Distressed Hoodie this past week while in California. It’s way cheaper than that Givenchy Distressed Hoodie that keeps selling out. I had some time to shop on our trip to Disneyland (besides my new Bing Bong elephant) and I stumbled upon an Alo Yoga store in Santa Monica. I had been eyeing this Distressed Hoodie for months now but we don’t have an Alo Yoga in Canada. Luckily, the store I went to had it in for me to try and I absolutely loved it.

The Best Distressed Hoodie | Alo Yoga Ripped Hoodie

I was really drawn to this color Gravel but I was a bit worried that it would wash me out. All of the colors are great but I would have played it safe with the black had I not tried on the other colors. This Gravel color is perfect combined with the distressing and paired with black leggings. I love that the distressing is so nicely balanced througout the hoodie in all the right spots. It’s so casual and cozy, but kinda sexy and edgy. I also really love the neckline on this hood. I know distressing isn’t for everyone but for those of you that love ripped jeans this is going to be right up your alley.

They also have a few other pieces in the Distressed line. Sweat pants, tank tops, crew necks and tee shirts. I know the Ripped Warrior Leggings are super popular as well.

Distressed Tee

I picked up this Distressed Tee in black. It was a size down from my usual while the grey one is my TTS

I love the fit of this tee so much. It’s 100% soft cotton (made in the US) and the sleeve length is so great. It’s a little bit of a boxy shape, but narrow and long enough that it’s feminine. I would have preferred staying with my TTS in this but the black was sold out in a large and I prefered the black over the grey.

The Lululemon Upload is live!

So sorry for the late upload post. I’m in Disneyland with my family this week and I wasn’t sure when I’d get back to our hotel room in time to post the upload. Lots of great colors uploaded today. Loving the Bali Breeze Define Jacket, and the Hyacinth Love Tee, and Fantom Fuchsia

By the way, I purchased the Everywhere Belt Bag for this trip and it has been perfect for Disneyland. It carries my phone, wallet, sunscreen and a few other items for my kids in there and it’s much better than carrying any type of over the shoulder handbag.

Lululemon Store Photos | Golden Lime

by Cristina April 18, 2019
written by Cristina

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a good variety of Lululemon Store Photos. I’m so glad they are back. Here is a great example of why they are so awesome. Golden Lime seems like a potentially tricky color but here we see it on two different complexions. Not a large sampling by any means but at least we are seeing it on a cool tone dark hair, cool tone blond and warm tone blond.

The In Movement Tights (and crops) still remain my favourite run tights, Crossfit and lifting tights. I love them a lot more than Fast and Free Tights/Crops simply because they are thinner, cooler and more sweat wicking and most importantly they stay up better. I love the unfussy design too. They’ve been a dream for my Seawheeze training.

Finally! The Swiftly Tech Racerback in Honey Lemon we’ve been waiting for finally uploaded. I ordered that of course. It’s been years and years since I’ve purchased a Swiftly Racerback Tank. Hoping we see a short sleeve and long sleeve in Honey Lemon soon.

I know a lot of you have been waiting for the Golden Lime Fast & Free Tights and Crops we’ve been seeing in sneak peeks. Today was a Golden Lime parade of new items. Also new today are the Into Something Good Tights and Into Something Good Pants and Jacket. I’m just really not a fan of cupro. I think I object to renaming polyester something fancy. I love this disclaimer that comes with the cupro items: “To revive it, wear your garment. Warmth and humidity will help restore its natural texture and drape.”

Did you order anything today? Do you reject Cupro like I do, or do you love it?

Guys, thanks so much for all of your Apple Watch recommendations! I got my first apple watch over the weekend and have been really loving wearing it. I didn’t take out out for a Seawheeze training run yet. I did a long run on Saturday and then got the watch on Sunday. I can’t wait to see how it performs as a fitness tracker. Maybe today while my kids are at dance I can get my short run in. I am excited to get the heart rate info tracked on my runs. I’ve already learned through the sleep tracker that although I get enough overall sleep, I’m not getting enough REM sleep. I definitely want to improve that since interupted REM is linked to health problems.

I ordered the On The Right Track Pant so far. I love the look of them with the ivory piping on the side. Considering the Love Tank Pleated in Honey Lemon but I want the Swiftly Tech LS/SL and Racerback in that color instead so I think I’m going to hold out for one of those. The Heathered Coral Swiftly LS is stunning but I am going to hold out for markdown since we are heading into warm weather.

By the way, now that I’ve gotten into running again (training for Seawheeze) I’ve been thinking about getting an activity tracker for my birthday. Do any of you use the Apple Watch Series 4 for running and other sports like crossfit or lifting? How do you find it for multi purpose activity. Also, do you prefer the aluminum or the staneless steel?

Drinking Enough Water | Your Self Care Hack

by Cristina April 8, 2019
written by Cristina

Drinking Water Is Self Care

Self care is big in my world this year, and the number one thing I’ve done in the self care department has been commiting to drinking enough water. This new habit of mine has changed my life. At least 2 Lt. of water per day, and that’s in addition to any other beverages. I know that this is so basic to a lot of you but I think many people are like me in the hydration department.

Why I Needed To Up My Hydration

Old me drank water during workouts, or when I felt thirsty. The truth is is I never felt thirsty until it was way too late and by that point I was dehydrated enough to have headaches and dry mouth. Drinking water when you are not especially thirsty or you don’t like water is a chore. Water was bland an boring and I would usually resort to carbonated water, or flavour enhancers just to get an extra cup of water in.

I had no idea the myriad of effects chronic dehydration was having on my body until I started seeing the positive effects of abundant hydration, and that was enough for me to change my ways. I don’t use any enhancements now to drink water, I simply equate that glass of water with feeling really good. Actually, I treat my hydration like it’s the most luxurious $500 La Mer skincare routine, because it’s had that great of an effect on my skin.

How Much Do You Need?

The right amount of water is different for everybody, and there is absoultely a danger of over hydrating. The idea of hypernatremia was enough to help me justify not drinking enough water, or convince myself that since I wasn’t thirsty I was getting the right amount. The truth is, the longer you are chronically dehydrated, the harder it is to actually feel thirst.

Health authorities generally recommend 2 liters or 8 80z glasses per day for the average adult female.

Chronic dehydration puts so much stress on your body that so many bodily functions are compromised. Your body just gets used to being in water scarcity mode and that creates a hyerachy of orders for bodily function. when your body is in stress mode it’s worrying about maintaining basic functions, not growing strong nails and hair.

I started drinking 2 Lt. of water about two months ago simply because I was getting headaches. I purchased a couple of bottles I liked that would fit into my daily routine seamlessly and just decided to make it a habit. My favourite is a Starbucks tumbler I use with a lid and straw and I can fill that up with tons of ice and take it with me everywhere. This big bottle holds my water ration for the day in the fridge so I can see how much I’ve had. If I’m traveling for the day, I take both with me. Frequent bathroom trips are definitely a thing I’ve had to get used to.

Here Are The Benefits I’ve Had By Drinking 2 Ltr. Of Water Everyday

1. Better Complexion

My skin has been glowing and what used to be really transparent skin that showed every discoloration, blood vesel and inflammation under the surface is now even, white and bright. Dark undereye circles are now gone and my undereye area is now less puffy and tired looking. Rosacea that I have on my right cheek is now gone somehow. I’ve read that when your skin cells are dehydrated it allows space in beween cells where damage occurs, and inflammation which is expressed as rosacea in my case.

2. Better Hair

My hair has been falling out significantly less and is much less brittle. My daughter noticed the other day that my hair looked different and shiny. It feels healthier and less greasy.

3. Skin

My skin has always been ashy and dry looking. I always have to slather a ton of moisturizer on my legs and arms after my showers. Occasionally I dry brush and use different exfoliation methods but my skin never looks great, it just looks less dull. I noticed my knees the other day are looking glowy. The skin on my knees…. is glowing.

4. Appetite Suppression

I have not lost any weight from drinking water but I have other complicating factors in that department. What I have noticed is my appetite is way down and so is my snacking.

5. Reduced Bloating

I am someone that retains water extremely easily thanks to my hormonal imbalances. The scale fluctuates so much for me at varying parts of the day. Eat a carb (any carb), up 6lbs instantly. Eat salty foods, up 10lbs overnight. As soon as I started drinking enough water, this kind of bloating really evened out. I’m way less puffy and my stomach area is much flatter. If I’ve had a lot of my water in a shorter amount of time, I sometimes feel really bloated, but I don’t look bloated.

6. My Skincare Is More Effective

Skincare products are kind of useless if your body is stressed out nutritionally. Nothing you use externally will remove dark circles or bags under your eyes, puffyness, ashyness or uneven skin tone. Hylaronic Acids only work on your skin if it attaches to moisture.

7. Energy

I’ve been feeling a lot more energetic and clear since I’ve started drinking water. I’m not racing around like an energizer bunny on crack, but I have had better focus and attention, and I don’t feel so tired.

Benefits of drinking 2Lt. of water everyday

Tell me, how much water are you guys drinking per day?

Mail Day! Lululemon Honey Lemon

by Cristina April 5, 2019
written by Cristina

It has been some kind of week over here at my house so this Lululemon Honey Lemon delivery could not come soon enough.

This week I had to suddenly change all of the code that creates the look of my blog after quite a lot of drama in the blogosphere about the developer I had been using, who up until now has been very well known and regarded. When you don’t know how to code yourself, this type of change comes with quite a lot of anxiety.

At the same time that this blogosphere drama has been happening, one of my kids developed a staph infection which meant tons and tons of Dr. appointments. Five appointments in five days so far. Staph is no joke guys! When you are at the gym, disinfect everything your skin touches. If you visit someone in the hospital, disinfect your hands vigourously. If you go to the dentist, wash your hands immediately after. These places are very high risks for transmission of any number of scary bacteria.

Yesterday I spent 6 hours at my desk trying to figure out how to get the comment counter back on the main page (you guys like that feature because it links you back to the comment section and bypasses my post if you’ve already read it). I haven’t figured it out yet but don’t worry, if I can’t get it myself I will get a developer to help me. It will probably take a few days. If there are any other features from my site that you’ve noticed missing that you really liked, or you have any feedback on my new site, please do let me know. The biggest change I’ve noticed is that my blog is now loading a lot faster. Have you noticed that too?

I’ll spare you the nitty gritty details about what exactly necessiatated the blog change, but basically my web developer was at the centre of some internet controversy and I had to immediately remove his work. It’s fine, my site wasn’t affected at all but I wanted to be extremely cautious. Lots of really big well known bloggers are not changing, but I decided I didn’t want to take any chances and I’d rather make the change proactively.

Scuba Pullover

I love the Honey Lemon color here especially. I noticed after I ordered the the Scuba Pullover was a different shade of Honey Lemon than the Scuba Crew. The Scuba Pullover is heathered and a slightly toned down version of the color while the Scuba Crew is full intensity. I love this color and I think it will look especially nice if I’m wearing a nice bright pink lipstick, and pair it with black leggings and white sneakers (these are my favourite sneakers). If you got those white align pants that some of you where going crazy about a few uploads ago, you need this Scuba Pullover to go with it.

Some of my most favourite Lululemon items of all time are the more unusual colors, like this Heathered Peach Plum Swiftly I purchased years ago. This yellow is kind of oddball and loud but depending on how you colour pair it, it can work even on trickier skin tones.

Honey Lemon Scuba Pullover
Scuba Pullover, Honey Lemon

Define Jacket

While I love the color here, and love it in the Define, I’m not happy with how this Define is fitting me so I’m returning it, or I may try a size up in it. I think I’m just feeling this color in a more relaxed style like the Scuba Pullover. I would definitley get a Swiftly Tech LS in Honey Lemon though. We know that at least a Swiftly Tech Racerback is coming so hopefully we see a LS and SS as well.
