Thanks to Mrs. O for trying on and reviewing the Wunder Under Tight Sheen. I’ve seen a few try-ons of these and have really fallen for them. Check out Mrs. O’s other fit review posted today.
Wunder Under Hi-Rise Tight (Sheen)
I’ve been wanting a pair of glossy black leggings. I have an Alo glossy black tight in my cart and eventually I’ll have to pull the trigger. Especially, because things keep selling out. In any event, when I saw the Lululemon upload with the Wunder Under Sheen, I was very excited. I had to go in and see it in person.
I liked the Lululemon version with the different paneling. The side and back is matte black. The sheen is only in the front. The front seams around the legs were flattering and added a nice design detail. I wasn’t sure if I would like the fact that the curve around the knee came in so much but when I tried it on, I liked it. The bottom of the tight is a ribbed mesh. I really liked that part of the tight. The ribbed mesh gave more texture to the tight. I felt the length of the tight was slightly shorter than the other WUs I have. They were definitely full length but I felt there was less bunching around the ankles. My favorite thing about this tight was the edgy style. These are TTS.
While writing this review and looking at my pictures, I can’t tell if the tight might be ever so slightly sheer. Or it could just be that my undies were not laying flat and what I’m seeing is VPL. You decide. Based on the pictures, I’d say it was a 9.5/10 in opacity. When I tried them on and stepped out of the fitting room in the bright sunlight, I didn’t notice they were sheer at all. The front picture isn’t so flattering (something about the shadows) but I wanted you to see that the sheen paneling was also on the waistband. Because it’s a black tight, it’s hard to see the contrast without proper lighting and camera. But the in-store photos are accurate in it’s depiction of the tight.
Now my dilemma is deciding if I want all around glossy or the glossy front paneling. I’ll probably get both and do a side by side comparison.

I have the Spanx version and those are ah-mazing!!
I have these in my carts too, I love shiny things lol! I also am a fan of Alo but only their Goddess leggings as they are great for yoga.
I think I will end up getting the lulu version. Thank you for the review
My Alo order is arriving later today so I’ll be able to do a direct comparison of the “glossy” tights.
So, the two tights have totally different looks. I like both of them. Since I got the Alo tights for $54, I’m going to keep both pairs. The Lululemon version is sportier and the Alo version can be dressed up with boots and a sweater. I think the Alo tights would look really cute with the Free People Ottoman Slouchy Tunic Sweater.
I have to say that I can see your undies too! If the front view is just a shadow than it is a panty shadow and not a good look, sorry!
I know! Right? I haven’t had a chance to try them on again outside to really check if it’s sheer. The front view is definitely shadowing from the bad lighting. I didn’t notice it at all when I stepped out of the dressing room. I’ll report back.
I’m happy to report back that the WU Sheen is fully opaque. I tried it on again with proper undies and did numerous bend tests without any sheerness. In fact, the glossy panel on the Lululemon tights are more opaque than Alo’s glossy 7/8 High-Waist Airbrush Tight. Although I feel perfectly “covered” in the Alo tights, there’s a hint of sheerness in a deep knee bend test.
I really like the design detail of LLL’s version but an all glossy pair of tights is really nice too. I’m not sure which one I will keep. The Alo legging was a much better price point at $59.
I have a feeling that we will be seeing metallics on the next upload.
I was at my local store (and fell in love with the electrobeam speed wunder tights) & the shoppers are silver & very shiny 🙂
I heard the silver shopper was a pre-holiday shopper. My store didn’t have it on Black Friday but it arrived later that day. By the time I got there the following week, they were all gone.
I like the shiny, but something about them makes me wonder if there is an optical illusion with different lighting. Shiny lighted areas vs dull shadowed areas (if that makes sense.) I’d like to get something a little edgy/trendy this year. I think I may wait and see how the metallic ones look before deciding.
Slightly off topic…Does anyone have any info on the sit in lotus sweater sizing? TTS for their usual sweater sizing?
I have 2 from last year and ordered 2 this year. It is a loose fit so if you are between 2 sizes I would recommend the smaller size. It has a wider fit across the chest and back so it is easy to size down. It has a nice drape in the back and if it is too large it tends to look a bit sloppy. This year’s version has pockets which is a huge plus. I ordered the black cherry and heathered starlight – both in a size 4. They fit completely different. The starlight fits perfectly and the cherry is 3-4 inches shorter in the body. The arms were much shorter and tighter. I returned and ordered another size 4 to see if it is just that color that fits differently or if possibly it was sized wrong. We will see. I should get it tomorrow. It is a very nice sweater and I would definitely recommend it.
Thank you so much, that is really helpful! I ordered the 4 in black cherry, so fingers crossed it fits on that in between, looser side 🙂
I found it to be TTS but I could have sized down if I wanted a less baggy fit.
