Tried these on today and I love them in this color but am a bit unsure if it’s wiser to wait and see if they come in crop version. If these weren’t as warm as they are with the lining I prefer to have them as pants but I’m just not sure these will transition to fall/winter because of the color. Dune looks gorgeous with the new porcelain items though as well as with Concord and Deep Indigo. I was really quite surprised to like these in this color since sometimes taupes/kakies wash me out but they are a really nice shade and the color makes them more subdued than white. Watcha guys think??
Oooh, also, I picked up a new book. 50 Shades Of Grey. 🙂 have you heard of it by chance? what do you think about possibly doing a book club post for this book on this blog? I can post a discussion topic and we can discuss in comments. It’ll force me to actually get thru an entire book. I used to be such a voracious reader and it’s just so hard to get really engrossed in books since having kids so now I rely on lighter topics and ‘chic lit’ style books. I’ve been told by several of you that this is a quick, weekend read.

I stopped in today to do a quicky return and spotted some new items to tempt me. The very adorable Porcelain Blue Wee Striped Every Yogi Tee and Tank. I really love the tee but going into summer I think the tank is a better idea. I’m such a sucker for the sleeve lenght on the tee as well as the gimmicky inner tag. So adorbs! They also had the Swiftly Tech LS in Porcelain and the Dune Dance Studio Pants which I tried on and was very surprised to love the color

This new In Stride Jacket Wee Are From Space White April Multi was uploaded last night and it’s gorgeous! I’ve been off Strides/In Strides for a while now but this one is very eye catching
Smallish upload today but I’m happy the April WAFS Cool Racerback was finally uploaded. I’m tempted by the Dune Studio Pants but haven’t seen them in person yet to know if they would flatter me. I wish there had been more real life photos these past few days of them from the stores since the white background on these shots is most unhelpful.
What did you guys order tonight/this morning?
The Latest: Rose Quartz SE Swiftly Tech LS, Concord Grape Jacquard Speed Shorts, April WAFS Scoop Neck Tank
I can’t believe these are the first pictures posted today of the latest items.
Loving the Special Edition Swiftly Tech LS in Rose Quartz. Not enough to return my Concord Grape one though. Well ok, it’s super pretty but Concord will have longevity in my closet. I love this whole outfit. These new Concord Grape Speed Shorts look like they have Jacquard Print on them just like the flash.
See? The lighter colored special edition swiftly’s highlight the print a bit better.
April Wee Are From Space Scoop Neck Tank. Can’t wait for the CRB in this print!
And a very nice watch!!!
It’s a Cinch Dress in Blurred Blossom
I stopped in to my local lulu this morning before taking the kids to school but there wasn’t much new in store today. It seemed like just a restock of items and new items that were uploaded last Monday night such as the Power Vinyasa crops in grey and concord grape. Some new Special Edition Rose Quartz Swiftly Tech LSs and SS’s which were quite pretty. The floral print seems more obvious the lighter the fabric is. There were new April Wee Are From Space Flow Y’s but no CRB’s yet, the only CRB was the Heathered Rose Quartz which was pretty soft but less so than Aquamarine. My store finally got the new Porcelain Ta Ta Tamer in which has been online for a few weeks (I got one an love it, you can now cross the straps in the back). New Pacesetter Skirt in Flash/Jacquard Print too. I’m actually kind of relieved there was no April WAFS CRB’s or Porcelain Swiftly Tech LS’s in to tempt me. I have some Paypal ear marked for those items and would rather catch them on the upload.
I’m finally starting to feel my routine fall into place with combining running and crossfit. Although I’m not a morning person at all, I’m finding the most convenient time for me for Crossfit is the 6am class. This allows me to dash out while the kids are still sleeping and my husband is getting ready for work and be back in time for him to leave without being late for work. It’s just way to hard getting to the evening classes when he gets home from work because sometimes that ends up being the 7pm class right before the kids bed time and by then its so easy to say ‘forget it, it’s too hard to fit it in today’. I just prefer the energy of the evening classes overall, people are wired and pumped up from a day of sitting at their desks or doing whatever everyone else does (for me I’m crazed from spending the day with wild toddlers) and I find there is a lot more friendly competition and encouragement and loud music. The 6am class can get pretty full too but everyone is slowly waking up and getting into workout mode and still sort of dragging their feet and bleary eyed. Ah well, at least I’m able to fit it in somewhere. My runs are bit easier to fit in since I can just go whenever, either with the kids in the jogging stroller or after my husband gets home. I like this early part of run training when I’m just aiming to get out there and run whatever I feel like and keep up the routine rather than going for a prescribed distance.
My workout (fitness today, not RX) : For time (20:15):
Run 800 Metres (dark and rainy!!!)
7 rounds of the Couplet: Handstand pushups 10 reps and one legged squat 10 reps
Run 800 Metres
My handstand pushups were modified to using the box to elevate my legs, and the one legged squats were very difficult for me to get a full deep squat so half way thru I switched to just regular air squats.
Today I decided to head out for a trail run which is something I love and hate. Love because its scenic and tranquil and takes me out of my regular route, and hate because I’m afraid of bears and other wild animals which there are a lot of in my neighborhood. I very rarely go thru the woods and if I do it’s just a quick cut thru trail that would be less than 1/2 a mile. Today I opted to do my entire run thru the trails which was 4 miles and a bit. My husband offered me his referee whistle to take for safety and he has since told me that the whistle cost him $40. Crazy, eh? A whistle can be THAT pricey. But he says its a very shrill whistle and could be heard for a very long distance. I also opted to wear my Currant CRB for visibility with my Run: Chase Me Crops. I really enjoyed this run a lot, especially since there were a lot of different sensations under my feet depending on what type of path I was on and I could really feel it with my minimal shoes.
I was wearing my New Balance Minimus WT20 runners which I’m really, really liking. There is adjustment to it and my calves have been tight but I’ve been stretching quite a bit and rolling with my grid foam roller so I’m so far so good with them. Yesterday at the Lululemon Run Club they had an ambassador personal trainer come in with all of his myofascial release trigger point toys and he was showing us how to properly roll specific areas. He said that what you do for recovery is as important as how much you train. He had me focus on my calves and my achilles because of my new shoes and I found that really helped quite a lot. Today my ankles were a bit tight with running the trails but I rolled and stretched really well and will roll again later tonight.
The scary trail run. 4.16 miles of paranoia about bears stalking me made me run fast!
This is what a $40 referee whistle looks like. I would never have guessed it costs more than $10.
