Heathered Menthol Cool Racerback Tank
This color is really lovely but I think I’m going to pass on the CRB since it’s heathered. I really love Porcelain blue though so I’m sure I’ll get a few items in that color next month.
There is a lot of discussion about the new Jacquard Mesh CRB and wether or not to size up on them. A lot are suggesting that they run smaller than regular CRB’s but I think the difference is really only in the mechanical stretch of the fabric compared to the most recent high poly heathered CRB’s. They just sort of drape differently. The new Jacquard Mesh CRB’s are 94% Nylon and 6% Lycra Spandex and I’m quite partial to them since I loath the use of polyester. The feel like a crisp, soft and breathable cotton compared to the poly ones which range from feeling slick, cool and thin to staticy and I find they also migrate downwards during workouts exposing the top of your bra. I’ll definitely be using these casually as well as for running and crossfit.
It was hard to get a good shot in of the size comparison but they are pretty much identical even in the straps. I was surprised that the straps were the same length since in my fit review the other day I thought the scoop and straps were shorter and the neckline was higher, but I guess it’s just the difference in fabric composition and how they behave and feel. Both are size 10. I think there is a slight difference in hem length though, maybe 1/4″ shorter but not much. You can easily size up in these but I don’t think it’s necessary at all. I’m happy sticking with the 10.
I have a lot of respect for the lovely educators that work in stores with customers and love the products as much as we do. They are the ones that are actually ‘in touch’ with what the brand means to its customers and they are the ones that are hearing our feedback. When an educator from the Palo Alto Lululemon emailed me letting me know about this contest that they are trying to win, I was more than happy to help them promote this contest called ‘Friends Don’t Let Friends Not Travel’
If Remy and her nominator, key leader Kimberly win, they get to pick a trip of their choice to Europe. They are aiming for a trip to the Mediterranean. To win, they need as many facebook friends as possible to click on this picture (click on the link above the picture) and ‘like’ it. I’ve just liked it myself and hope our lululemon fan community can come together and help send these lovely ladies to Europe. Voting ends on Monday April 16th and I’m really looking forward to hearing that they won.
Finalists: Friends Don’t Let Friends Not Travel With Contiki
Nominator: Kimberly Barnes
Nominee: Remy Champion
Story: Kimberly met Remy through work where she was one of our newest and highest performers from the get go! She took on projects did extra work and was on the fast track for a promotion and taking over the Community team! Around December she made a big and brave decision: Remy realized life is too short to not travel! She met with the managers and stepped down from her role in order to take a week or weekend off a month to travel somewhere new! So far she’s only gone on small, local trips to make sure these adventures happen. Kimberly wants to help her make this a year to remember and be a part in giving her one really special gift somewhere spectacular! It takes a lot of courage to take the plunge like she did and Kimberly would love to reward her and encourage her on this amazing journey. She’s inspired Kimberly to take action and not to just talk about life but to participate!
Here is a really good color comparison of solid Rocksteady Luon to Solid Porcelain Luxtreme. We have a few items out right now in Porcelain (this Ta Ta Tamer and the Swiftly Tech SS and LS’s I posted earlier) but Porcelain is going to be out in full force come May. Trouble, trouble! I loved Rocksteady but when it was out this past summer I missed out on it completely and ended up hunting down a few pieces off the exchange over Christmas. I was so sad that I’d missed out on the heathered Rocksteady Sing Floss Travel Jacket and I’m not really sure why I initially passed on it in store but it’s one of my top favorite lulu items of all times and am so glad I was able to get one eventually. Porcelain is a touch lighter than Rocksteady and also a bit brighter, more vibrant.
I quickly just tried on the Ta Ta Tamer and you are able to cross the straps in the back a lot more comfortably than the ones from just a few months ago. I still wish the straps were a touch longer but at least I can get it on that way where as the older Magnum one I have I cannot wear that way at all.

Last night I got a product alert from Australia that had the Menthol CRB listed but below the picture it said ‘color not shown’. I’ve been digging around for similar colored product images and I’m 85% sure the image is actually the Heathered Menthol CRB. I don’t remember ever seeing a darker background like this one on a product alert. I like that they are using that for lighter colors because sometimes it’s a bit ridiculous when they are showing a white or off white product on a white background so you can see nothing of the details.
Did any of you watch Real Housewives of Vancouver last night? Lots of lulu sighting on that episode since it featured two of the characters and their workouts. Reiko was wearing some Run: Cross Train Crops and a Scoop Neck Tank and later a black CRB. Ronnie (wasn’t her workout in her ‘dojo’ so funny?) was wearing an Under Armor Pullover I think with Wunder Unders and then later a black CRB. So boring! I want to see them wearing colorful lulu. You just know they have a closet full of lulu. They must! This past weekend I was in West Vancouver and the amount of full on lulu outfits that I saw was insane. You can always see lulu on any street of Vancouver but this was different. This was 3-4 peaces of lulu per woman. It was like a walking lululemon catalogue.
I’m excited that there is another color in the Special Edition series of Swiftly Techs. I’m quite sad at returning the Porcelain swiftly I got the other day, maybe also the Concord Grape (as part of my editing and self restraint exercise) and I’m hopeful that next month we will see a Porcelain Swiftly Tech LS in Jacquard Print.
Well crap!!! April is turing out to be a dangerous month of product drops. I just received my Rose Quartz Jacquard Mesh CRB and I’m in love. It’s soft but not fragile or overly stretchy, it feels cottony and fits really, really nicely and TTS. If you float between two sizes in the CRB depending on fit than you can safely go up a size. Makes me hate those polyestery CRB’s even more. I think the torso fits the same as most of my other CRB’s but the only difference in fit is that the scoop is a bit higher so less bra showing at the cleavage. I think it’s because the straps are shorter not so much the overall length of the tank. It’s a bit sheer in that you can see my sad belly button but it’s not indecently sheer. I’d probably wear this with a regular nude bra underneath without a worry.
The Concord Grape Studio Crops. I love them. they are gorgeous and not as high commitment to crazy color as the pants are. The color goes beautifully with Rose Quartz, Blurred Blossom print, White… I just worry that these are not as closet versatile as black or coal would be. I know, very boring. I’m going to hang on to them for a bit and then decide if I’m swapping them for grey. What do you guys think??? I definitely need opinions.
Lots of items from this month are going to have to go back and it’s going to be really tough deciding on just a few items to keep.
**Fabric composition of the CRB is: 94% Nylon, 6% Lycra Spandex**
