This is a Moncler vest so don’t get your hopes up. I just posted it to illustrate the style Lululemon may be (totally is) trying to emulate. Word on the street is that tomorrows product drop includes a long knee length puffy vest. This will have major appeal for those of us that are 5’5 and shorter. Ha! right. I do really like this mid hip length Moncler vest though.
I’m still curious to try on the Florence Print NULUX Speed Wunder Tights, but I’m losing interest by the day on chasing them down and waiting for them to ‘land’ in stores. I’m also not loving the sheen on the NULUX. I’m loving really matte prints in the new nylon based Full-on luxtreme prints. The Shibori print on the left intrigues me.

Here is a sneak peek of a couple new prints from one of those events that actually had new product to share. I’m not loving the 70’s inspired florals and colors.

The Wander Pant was completely off my radar until I learned in the Lululemon Product Review Group that they are actually ponte material. It was a big mystery on the website what the material was since it only says it is sweat wicking material while the City Trek Trouser specifies ponte. I think these pants are great for wearing ‘leggings’ on the weekend while still having the structure of a pant material. It’s thick and smoothing and really warm. I was very tempted to purchase these but I reminded myself that I have a really great pair of ponte pants I got two years ago from Kit & Ace and I think I like the tailored detailing on those better.

These fit like a very slim straight leg jean but because they are extremely long on me the material pooled and bunched up at the ankles. They absolutely need to be hemmed at the perfect length. I’d consider hemming these for a dressier pair of shoes like a ballet flat, or heels vs having them hemmed for running shoes. I’d mostly wear these tucked into boots, or with my ballet flats. These are weekend pants that are more pulled together than leggings or faded jeans, but not as fancy as dress pants. You would not wear these for working out in. I really liked that the rise was high and smooth but I wish it had the dash pockets at the butt for a more trouser look, vs the run pocket in the back waist. You will not wear these running or for any type of workout so I think the athletic pocket is strange.
I like the side leg seam which makes it more ‘pant’. My Kit & Ace pants have pin tuck seam details on them which are slightly more fancy than these.
Here you can see a detailed photo of what the material texture looks like. Also as you see it has reflective dots on the reverse side so you can fold up the cuffs if you are riding your bike to work in these. Because the ponte material is thick, the cuffed hems are pretty bunchy so I would prefer hemming these to a 7/8th length.
My store didn’t have my size in these. I take a 10 in the regular City Trek Trousers and almost every other pant but I wanted to compare the two pants since they are similar function wise and material. These are an 8 and too small but the 10 is perfect. These are a way better length on me at 7/8 and I would not have to hem them at all. I like that it’s a zipper front closure with side dash pockets and back pockets. It’s much more dressy with these features than the Wander Pant. My City Trek trousers (and my Kit & Ace pants) came with me to Paris last winter and they where the best for sight seeing and dressing up for dinner. These are a really nice business casual style trouser.
Last week I wrote a post about Lululemon reviews being deleted off their website to inflate product ratings, and since then many of you have come forward to say your reviews have been deleted throughout this week. In the discussion in the comments of that post (thank you for such a lively discussion!), it was suggested that a new review system could be created where you could feel free to post your honest reviews on products without fear that your well thought out feedback would be deleted, and where people seeking honest reviews could trust that the review are actually genuine. I’ve created a Facebook group for us that you can join and find the latest upload products, and share your reviews. I would love it if we could still keep product discussion in the comments of this blog, and use this group as simply a place to leave and read reviews. What do you guys think? I wanted to give a shout out to a few items I’ve recently purchased that I’ve been loving at the gym, with a focus on function, not streetwear. There have been some great finds for me despite the generally drab and plain lululemon lineup and overabundance of mesh in all the run tights.
Speed Wunder Tight Deep Sea Print
I got these Deep Sea Print Speed Wunder last week when they restocked a few sizes on the website. I had ordered them in the summer but then returned them out of fear of the crazy print but I really regretted it and had been stocking eBay for them when the website restock happened. I love this new version of printed Full-On Luxtreme which is 69% nylon and 31% elastane. This is a huge improvement over the primary polyester based printed luxtreme. The prints are now matte and the material is much lighter and more breathable. They feel so nice on, and they don’t trap heat like printed luxtreme used to. I never wear full length tights to the gym because I get so overheated, but these where fantastic. I wish I’d tried on the black version of these tights as well. I wonder if the none printed Full-On Luxtreme is this same matte nylon based material.
Sorry for the blurry pictures here but I grabbed snapshots from my gyms instragram stories, and quick snaps I took on my way out. I first got the Muted Mauve Essentials Tank mostly because I loved the color so much but I really love the way this tank fits. It’s so flowy without being matronly and the back pleat detail is really pretty. I love that the entire back covers my bra straps (I hate having to coordinate so many outfit components!). One negative thing about it is these lighter colors do show a darker bra or print thru the fabric, but I am not bothered by that. I love both the Tonic Sea and the Muted Mauve and they’ve been on regular rotation for the past 3 weeks. I may even like them better than my 105F singlets because they are more modestly cut and cover the armpits area a bit better and it has a wider racerback.
I am not a huge Define Jacket person but I had to have this color. When I received it I new I’d be keeping it because the luon happens to be very soft in this color, and because it’s so streamlined with the lack of contrasting colors, textures or contrasted zippers. It’s so soft that I can easily wear this for warmup or runs at the gym. This is my to/from jacket to the gym and as it gets colder I’ll start layering a jacket or puffer vest over it.
I’m really liking this Rush Hour Jacket. I have a weakness for these RULU/Glyde to/from jackets.
