The Best Platform Wedge Sandals Find For Summer

by Cristina

You guys! I found The best platform wedge sandals for this summer and they were such a steal on eBay. I’ve been having so much fun exploring eBay using current fashion trends as my inspiration. Over 80% of the items currently on eBay are brand new, which I didn’t realize. I’m so used to eBay being my go-to for selling and buying Lululemon. I was actually given a coupon to use for eBay (I briefly met with the eBay team at the blogger conference) but unfortunately, the coupon code didn’t’ work for me for some reason (maybe a Canadian thing?) so I just got these for full price, which was a huge steal anyways so I wasn’t mad. I also got a few other summer items that I’ll show you in another post soon.

Platform Wedge Sandal

I’ve been eyeing up all the popular platform wedge sandals that are trending right now but my feet are super fussy. I need leather soles and straps because otherwise, my feet blister pretty bad. Leather just molds to your feet and is breathable, which is essential for a summer shoe. I also can’t do a tall pitch if I plan on wearing them for any length of time.  In order to do a wedge this tall, it pretty much has to be a platform. This is a 3 and 3/4″ heel, but because of the platform, it’s actually a bit less than a 2″ heel.   Another thing I’m picky about is the ankle strap. Because I have short calves, I need the strap to sit on the top of my foot and then around to the back (the way these are). A strap that goes around my ankle really chops my leg proportions and makes me look really short. All of the sandals I have (flats and wedge) have this exact same strap design. Most of the platform cork wedge sandals out in stores right now have the ankle strap design.

These platform wedge sandals are incredibly comfortable and cushioned in the sole. I also love how soft the leather is on the straps. They are really tall so they are perfect for wearing with maxi dresses. I plan to wear mine with this Aritzia dress I got last summer in black and grey. Why did I pick Salvatore Ferragamo sandals? I think because the brand had a pretty good variety of wedge sandals during the time that these had gone on clearance so there is a good selection on eBay at great prices. The brand has a total 70’s vibe that I’m loving right now, and the quality is impeccable, and the designs are classic. Having looked at a ton of sandals, I prefer this 70’s glam vibe to the shipwrecked on the Maldives look.

My overall experience with this purchase was great. I ordered them from a newish seller  (this one here) that has some inventory in a variety of Salvatore Ferragamo wedge sandals. I know that she got them from one of the Nordstrom Rack Clear The Rack events because I saw all of the shoes she has in stock had been on clearance at Nordstrom RackNordstrom, and Neiman Marcus Last Call and this is how a lot of eBay resellers get their brand new inventory. They are in mint condition without a single scuff on the bottoms, and they arrived with their box (slightly beat up) and included the dust bag. These sandals retail for $650, and I purchased them for $119, which is cheaper than any shoe I can find at the mall.

I can’t recommend shopping this way enough. It’s fun to research high-end luxury brands and their past collections that have gone on clearance, and fully research purchases for great prices. During this search, I also found Chloe Multicolor sandals that I fell in love with, but just couldn’t find a great deal on them in my size. I have an alert set on them though so as they do pop up in my size, I can consider them if the timing and price is right.

What do you guys think? Do you venture outside of the Lululemon category for eBay purchases?

By the way, many of you ask me about these jeans all the time. I got them at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last year so they are not available online anymore but I did find one lone listing for them on eBay. They are called the AG The Legging Step Hem in ‘Beatnick’ if you want to hunt them down in another size. As y0u know, I love a splatter print so these are right up my alley. Here is the eBay link for them in size 29.

I’ve been obsessed with eBay lately! Finding so many great luxury items from clothes to makeup to handbags and wallets — some new and some slightly used in great condition. I have to say I’ve only had one bad experience with a seller that was misleading. eBay resolved that issue in my favor! I initially started using eBay for electronic accessories, then Lululemon, then by chance found something I wanted and now I’m getting deeper and deeper into the rabbit’s hole searching for items I wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford with my budget.

You found a gem of an item! Congrats!

I love eBay. I just remembered it’s one of the best places to get bras for me. The ones I like are incredibly marked up in Canada so it’s great to shop the dead stock on eBay.

I never thought about bras! After your post, I found some Feragamo mules and slides that were such a great deal. I made best offers and the sellers accepted (for what I thought was a ridiculously low price).
So for both shoes (one tan/brown and one black), I spent $70! I fiure if they don’t fit, I can always resell.
Since it’s open back, I went with my TTS 9. Are your sandals size 9? I found another pair of them on eBay because they looked so cute on you. Would you say it’s TTS?

Yup, I discovered my favorite bra in store in Vancouver and after I purchased it I decided I needed more colors in it so found them on eBay brand new for a fraction of what I paid. I also scour Nordstrom Rack at times because they carry that brand.
Are they the flower heeled mules? Those are really in right now. I need to see what’s available in my size. I’m a TTS 9. These fit perfect but I suspect I could have easily also done a 9.5. The seller had this 9, and a 9.5 in another style I initially wanted so I opted for this pair.

What bra brand? I’m always looking to venture out. No, but now I’m interested in the flower heeled mules. One is a pony hair tan mule. The other is a black patent leather wedge. When I went on Nordstrom’s website, it recommended going 1/2 size up. Now, I’m worried they won’t fit. I can’t remember the size I tried on a long time ago. Do you wear a size 9 in Stuart Weitzman? I wish clothes and shoe size would be consistent! I have shoes anywhere from 38-41 . . .

Hmm. I’m not sure. I can’t remember what size I’ve tried on for SW. I think you should be fine though. I rarely size up in shoes. If the sizing is in US sizing I’m always a 9. If it’s EU sizing I’m a 39.5 (which is equivalent to a 9). 40’s are usually too long on my foot.

My favorite bra brand is Chantelle. For an in-season Chantelle bra in Canada it would be around $140 CAD. I buy them at Nordstrom when they are on markdown around the $80 range. I really love the Rive Gauche tee shirt bra (not the lace soft cup one) which is an old model, so those I get on ebay.

I love that bra too! I have two of them but sadly didn’t buy anymore before it was discontinued. There’s also a Natori bra I love but was discontinued. I never thought to look on eBay.

Wow! That’s a ridiculous price for Canadians.
