More Pictures of Ruffled Groove Pants

by Cristina November 20, 2010
written by Cristina

These are really very cute Groove Pants but all of my Lululemon Tanks come down bellow the ruffle on these and would potentially look lumpy under a tank and it would be hidden. Non the less, if I wore Grooves then I would probably get these ones just cause there very cute.

New Scoop Neck Tank in Hong Kong

by Cristina November 20, 2010
written by Cristina

Scoop Neck Tank in Black Micro Stripe/Sailor Stripe. I love the print on this tank and can’t wait to see this in stores. I think this is one of my favourite scoop necks that I’ve seen.

And here is what appears to be a new color for the Relaxed Fit Crop. Is this Snorkel Blue?

Relaxed Fit Pants on Oprah

by Cristina November 20, 2010
written by Cristina

Today Lululemon was featured on “Oprah’s Favourite Things” episode. Oprah’s favourite butt pants are (and mine too of course)  the Relaxed Fit Pants as you see pictured below. Here is the link for the list Oprah’s Ultimate Favourite Things 2010 featuring Relaxed Fit Pants.

Relaxed Fit PantRelaxed Fit PantRelaxed Fit Pant *Brushed

I’ve stocked up on my favourite thing from Lululemon The Relaxed Fit Pants  after trying out the Brushed Luon version last month. I totally fell in love with them, especially after discovering the cinch cord at the bottom hem which meant I didn’t have to get them hemmed. These pants are extremely flattering to the butt area because of the back seam and pocket placement and long strait leg. If you get the brushed Luon version it’s actually quite a lot warmer for the winter and feels like it’s made of flannel on the inside.  I now have a pair of the Coal colored ones and a 2nd Brushed Luon Relaxed Fit Pant and I’m so glad that I got them before this Oprah episode featuring Lululemon because I have a feeling they will be hard to keep in stock now, especially on the online store.

And just for fun, lets watch LLL TSX and see what it does after this episode. Closed today at 51.39

Candlelight Tank Multi State of Mind Print – Try on Report

by Cristina November 19, 2010
written by Cristina

I tried on the Candlelight Tank today in the Multi State of Mind print in store (mine hasn’t arrived yet) and I love it. LOVE IT! It may be too much for me to wear on it’s own in full glory but I love it for layering. As you can see it looks fantastic under the Wish Post Run Pullover. I saw an educator after I left wearing the same tank underneath her Static Wish Dash LS and it looked so striking paired together.  This one is definitely a keeper for me even though it’s a completely frivolous tank and will not be used for sweating in. I plan on layering mine under my Heathered Wish Live Simply Tee and under my Very Violet Post Run Pullover and under my Coal Cabin LS  (Haze side is very pilled).

As for the Heart Tank, I loved it as well in the Organic Cotton. It’s just as I suspected (and posted about here) the Organic cotton clings less on me below the bust making it a bit of a loser fit eliminating my issues with how it made my bust look (boob eyebrows and boob narrowing). I did like it a lot but in the end left without it for now. I think I want to see it in a darker grey on the bottom with the multi print contrast. But I’m sure if it’s still around next month i’ll probably cave. The Wish Post Run Pullover I loved and it is totally Canucks blue as a reader had mentioned. I want it very badly but just can’t really justify (or hide from my husband) a second fleece pullover. Not right away at least.

Guest Post: Review by Cheryl – Ivivva

by Cristina November 19, 2010
written by Cristina

Cheryl’s shopping expedition was inspired by this recent post by Luluaddict and this one.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m addicted to running luon. I could fib and say that it’s because of it’s incredible wicking properties, it’s ability to keep you warm, and it’s amazing stretch retention but the truth of the matter is I love how soft it is. Since the chilly weather has started I’ve been wearing, treasuring, and petting a Vinyasa Scarf much like LOTR’s Smeagol/Gollum.. You know what I’m referencing right?: “My precious. My preciousssssssssss…..”

Anyhow, I was positively giddy to go and check out Ivivva’s running luon offerings. Ivivva is the ‘little sister’ of Lululemon and from the products offered in store I assume that their target market are the dancers, gymnasts, and ice skaters. There were some ‘court shorts’ which I think are for basketball but other than that there were an abundance of tights, and a lovely offering of skirts. If you check out the Ivivva Facebook pages (the main page as well as the individual stores) you’ll get a better look at their products – I’m only here to give a quick look at the running luon a.k.a “my precious..”

First things first, Ivivva is a children’s line and their current sizes are children’s 4-14. I am certainly not a child, nor am I a Lululemon size 2 or 4 and would not expect to fit into anything at that store except maybe a headband. My daughter is a tall 2.5 year old and we waltzed in looking for a pair of ‘base-layer’ tights for her to keep warm in. A quick glance thru the store brought us to the running luon rack and maybe it’s hereditary but my darling daughter decided that each piece was worth a pet. She didn’t whisper “my precious” but I’m certain that’s what she was thinking!

I brought home a sz14 in the Running Luon item named “Warm’er LS Layer” and laid it out on top of a sz6 Lululemon Dash LS (Lilac) as well as a sz6 Lululemon Inspire pullover (Lilac). The findings are promising..

As you can see from the pictures, the sz14 Ivivva LS top is comparable to a size 4 or size 6 Lululemon Running Pullover. Even the sleeve length is comparable! My sister is a size 4 or 6 in all Lululemon tops and she hungrily snatched the sz14 Ivivva Warm’er LS Layer out of my hands when I asked her to try it on. She measures as a 34B and is app. 5’3″ tall and she found the sz14 comfortable and slightly roomy in the armpit. Later in the day she was able to try on a size 12 and felt that the fit was better for her arm length and more fitted (in a good way) to her shoulders. She intends to use it as a base layer on the mountains this Winter.

When I lay out the sz12 to the sz14 (sorry, no picture at the moment for that.. my sister has run off with the shirt) but the noticeable difference is that the sz12 seems to be 3/4″ shorter and narrower all around.

The price for the Warm’er LS Layer cannot be beat; it’s only 44 dollars and only GST is applied to the purchase here in BC. Of course, it is lacking a few features when compared to the Run Dash LS priced at $78. There are no circle mesh areas for sweat, no reflectivity, no fun ruffle detail down the spine… but then the Ivivva LS Layer is not marketed as a ‘running’ top. The “WHY THIS ROCKS” tag states:

 WARM’ER LS LAYER

  • Hit the slopes of the ice in this perfect under layer
  • running luon fabric is soft and wicks away sweat to keep you dry
  • Thumbholes keep sleeves down and cuffins keep hands warm
  • Preshrunk, so that there are no surprises after washing
  • Pair with the Warm’er Tight for ultimate comfort

If your looking for a simple base layer other then the current wool offerings by Lululemon you would be lucky to check out Ivivva’s Warmer LS Layer..however, you need to be a Lululemon size 4 or size 6.

How did my daughter like the running luon tights? Well, we picked out a completly different outfit for her instead and will save the running luon tights for next weeks visit. She’s already looking forward to it as I am.

Heathered Pink Grey & Multi State of Mind Print.

by Cristina November 19, 2010
written by Cristina

Here is a shot of Heathered Pink Grey (2nd left) right next to Heathered Ash. I saw them hanging near each other in store and couldn’t tell that they were two different colors. Unless you have them side by side you can’t really see the pink in Heathered Pink Grey, but it is a touch warmer and would be more flattering to your skin tone.

I already got the Candlelight Tank in Multi State of Mind Print and love it but The Heart Tank is a tank that I really love but that I didn’t find flattering on me because of the contrast up top above the breast paired with the clingyness of the luon right below the breast. It looked strange on me and I didn’t like how it made my boobs look like they had eyebrows and made them more narrow. I have hopes though that the Organic Cotton version on the right will have less emphasis to the bust area because of the looser fit. I would adore this tank with a Multi State of Mind Print on the bottom with the top contrast portion in black or charcoal or the reverse. I love the design of this tank with the thick straps and scooped back so I very much want it to work for me.

I’ll be trying this one on for sure, especially if the Candlelight tank is too much print for me.

Dear Lululemon, please make more of these and in more colors. I loved mine to death and now it’s ready for the wash even though it’s only a day and a half old.

Worn here with the Post Run Pants.

I love this album of product photos from the  Rush St. Lululemon. So cute with the Christmas and Hanukkah theme. These are just some of my favourites.
