Product Drop Monday!

Two things I was really hoping to see today were not in, the Wee Are From Space April CRB and my hoped for Concord Grape Ebb and Flow Crops (only rumored to be coming). I was excited to find Porcelain Blue Swiftly Tech SS and so I grabbed that but I will probably return it in favor of a v-neck version. I loved the Special Edition Swiftly Tech LS but it’s already to hot to wear. Do I really want to get something that I wont wear until next year?

This is the Power Class Tee. From afar I got really excited at seeing this style of tee in Concord Grape but when I got close I saw that it’s sheer luon jersey and I didn’t like it very much. The overall design is quite nice with side cinches to customize the look but I want something like this in cotton. This is size 10, my TTS and I think I could have sized down. The sleeves were quite long and wide and the shoulders were slipping off. The back is super open so you’d have to wear a pretty strapped sports bra with this and not something like what I had on.

New Bra! Centred Energy Bra. I wonder if this bra gets two spellings, one canadian ‘centred’ and one american ‘centered’.

Embrace Crops in White Slub Denim

 Drishti Pants

Porcelain Blue Swiftly Tech SS. I LOVED this color. If you missed out on Rocksteady you will love this. I think it’s actually prettier than Rocksteady, slightly lighter.

SE Swiftly Tech LS in Concord Grape – $68

Run: In The Sun Crops – Concord Grape

It’s too bad the lighting is so bad in the fitting rooms and you get a lot of the orange tones from the walls but these are Concord Grape luxtreme running crops. There were also Excel Crops in this color. They were nice enough but I didn’t like the pocket on the hip. The pocket is entirely circle mesh so not durable enough to put anything in them really.

See? Small pocket and entirely circle mesh.

Excel Crops. Really liked these but wish they had the holster pocket.

My store didn’t have these in today (or unpacked yet) but there are Dune and White Dance Studio Crops and Concord Grape Studio Crops

Play In The Sun Shorts

Adjustable hem to make them longer or shorter. Didn’t try these on today but I’m intrigued by the longer length option

Easter OOTD: 3 Mile Run

by Cristina April 8, 2012
written by Cristina

This isn’t really my Easter outfit but I did manage a 3 mile run today so I thought I’d dress in easter eggy colors. My new to me Surge Wee Stripe CRB which I’d been on the search for for months finally arrived to me the other day and I love it. It’s one of my top 3 favorites, possibly my #1. I’m also wearing my Run: Chase Me Crops in Deep Indigo Wee Are From Space dye and they surprisingly go with 90% of my closet. I was quite surprised that a stripey patterned CRB would go so well with it but I think the blue in it plays well with the Indigo and it’s tone on tone so easy on the eyes. You can feel free to let me know if I look ridiculous in this.

I’m still in my base building stage of my training and I think May is when I’ll start ramping up miles beyond 4 for the Sea Wheeze training. I was impressed with today’s run because my first two miles were 10 minute miles and my third one was around 11:45. I know that seems really slow but I’m a 12min/mile+ runner so that was impressive to me. I think it’s thanks to my shorter double stroller runs. It definitely encourages me to keep up with the stroller runs even though they feel miserable and are quite short but they definitely have an impact on my overall running. Next time I’ll remind myself that even 1 mile runs with the stroller are worth it.

Fit Review: Meditation Pullover

by Cristina April 6, 2012
written by Cristina

I tried on the Meditation Pullover this afternoon and quite like it. On the hanger I looked at it and thought it was quite plain but once on I really liked the details of how the back is longer than the front, and the neckline on it. Definitely size down in this top as long as you don’t mind snugger fitting arms. The lower sleeve in the wrist and forearm are a bit snug. This is a loopy cotton french terry so it’s quite thin compared with the Rest Day Pullover or other sweaters that have been out in this material, it’s also stretchy and really soft. I’m waiting to see if this comes in Concord Grape or some other exciting color before I full decide but it is nice that you can wear any CRB or Every Yogi Tank underneath it. Check out how long my Every Yogi Tank is underneath. I sized down to an 8 and it still can be pulled down all the way over my badonkadonk.

Don’t shoot me, but I’m kind of loving the Meditate Pullover. Particularily in this picture of the white over concord. If I hadn’t gotten the Run: Rest Day Pullover I’d definitely consider this one.

Special Edition Swiftly Tech SS

by Cristina April 5, 2012
written by Cristina

Our favorite model from Los Gatos Show Room is back to model the Special Edition Swiftly Tech SS. Man she has awesome arms!! This swiftly tech is so gorgeous with the jacquard floral print but I wasn’t planning on getting anything in flash. If this comes in a long sleeve or v-neck and also in a different color I will definitely consider it. I like the back over the front on this one since the back is covered in the print, the front just has the print around the logo.  I wonder if it will be in all stores or just select stores.

Fit Review: Dance Studio Jacket

by Cristina April 5, 2012
written by Cristina

I managed to find a Dance Studio Jacket in my size yesterday, size 10, and I decided to bring it home and think about it as a birthday present option. My husband never usually gets me lululemon for my birthday but he agreed to this year probably because I wasn’t giving him any other good ideas. Anyways, I’ve been eying the Dance Studio Jacket in all the pictures I’ve seen so far and really loving it on others (particularly in this color) but I just couldn’t decide if it was a style of jacket that would fit into my daily wardrobe. I tend to wear either knit wraps and cardigans for a bit of a more stylish look or my Sing Floss Travel Jacket or Gratitude Wrap for more casual days. My Stride jackets have always gone unworn since they don’t fit the cozy factor that I need when I dress casually. I decided that I could take more of a risk with a birthday present than something I’d get myself. This jacket is surprisingly cozy thanks to the sheer luon jersey on the inside but it’s more structured and sliming than a hoodie. My husband really liked it on me when I tried it on so I definitely think it’s a keeper. He’s a hard critic of lululemon clothes afterall. The sizing is comfortable in TTS and the arms and chest are roomy enough. The bottom portion is fitted and can show muffin top but not enough to make me not want to wear it. I think since it’s so fitted it’ll look fine if I lost weight where as a 12 would look perfect now and then be too big. I can wear this over top of a cabin ls comfortably but the arms lose it’s looseness. Most people are sizing up in this jacket one or two sizes and I can definitely see that if you have a large bust, muscular arms or broader shoulders but I don’t tend to feel restricted in the arms with lulu clothes generally so I’m fine sticking with this size I think. I maybe wish there was a touch more length to this though and maybe slightly more a-line at the hem.

Meditate Pullover, City Practice Pant and Real Houswives of Vancouver

by Cristina April 5, 2012
written by Cristina

Some great shots of the Meditate Pullover and City Practice Pant. The Meditate Pullover is looking a lot cuter than I expected it too based on just seeing it hanging but I’m definitely not in the market for it. I’m finding everything else is being eclipsed by Concord Grape, Blurred Blossom and running gear right now. Favorite purchases so far (to be in hiding until my birthday) is the No Limit Tank in Concord, Dance Studio Jacket in Concord and the Every Yogi Tank in Blurred Blossom. Blurred Blossom is much more vibrant and fun in the vitasea cotton.

Oh! Have any of you watched The Real Housewives of Vancouver last night? There was a bit of lulu spotting but not a ton. One of the characters was wearing a Scoop Neck Tank. I bet you we will see more.  I initially thought, when I saw early write ups of the cast, that these women are so not the typical Vancouver elite that you would normally see, but in fact they are so very familiar. Right down to their phony voices. Thats the first indication of phonyness is how someone speaks I think. That long comical drawl that exaggerates and emphasizes how important they are. So funny! I thought it was really funny that these millionaire women were dining at places like Cactus Club and Earls. I know it’s probably product placement but still, those are places I ate as a teenager with my friends and now it’s the cheap dinner out with the kids kind of place, not a fancy happening place for middle aged millionaires. The Real Housewives series is so vacuous but it’s sort of stress relieving to watch something so light. I’ll definitely continue to watch it but honestly, the draw for me is more the location and not the characters.
