Yesterday, Lululemon shut down their Vancouver office locations after one employee tested positive for COVID – 19 and mandated work from home for their office employees. Today Lululemon has taken a further step and sent the following email to customers, informing of new reduced hours in all North American stores.
This measure helps Lululemon mitigate some of the economic burdens of employee hours during drastically reduced shopper habits as we all self isolate and tighten our wallets during the inevitable recession. This action keeps Lululemon in business during a very scary economically challenging time. Those shift hours saved will likely provide for the Global Relief Pay Plan, depending on how the next few days play out for closures. Look to Italy and Spain as examples. Expect these decisions from companies in all sectors rolling out over the next few days and weeks. ??
