Cool Racerback Special Edition (ruffled). It’s a little bit hard to see on the black Cool Racerback but this one has large ruffles on the back starting below the shoulder blades.

Cool Racerback Black Roses | Upload Thursday

Cool Racerback Black Roses

So far a few goodies have been uploaded. Nothing I’m dying to have but I really love the Heathered Pig Pink Scuba. I’m sticking to my new rule of only buying things in special prints so I’m eagerly waiting for the Waterwall print to show up.

** Update! did some of my Christmas shopping online instead of going to the malls and I knocked my mom and sister off my list. I wish there were more companies like lululemon that offers free overnight shipping.

Did you get anything today?

Cool Racerback Black Roses Print. It looks like it only goes up to size 10. Love this print but didn’t love the polyester in this. It just doesn’t have the cotton feel that luon is known for. I ended up getting the Live Simply in Black Roses Print on upload last week and got a really great distribution of roses so you can see little individual roses instead of the blobby patches or bad logo placements. I’m really happy with that one and glad I finally found the black roses item I’m happy with.

Scuba Hoodie Heathered Pig Pink/Very Violet I love this one, it’s adorable. Black Roses Print would look great under this.

Sparkled Scuba Hoodie Heathered Casis, love the twinkles in the picture.

Waterwall Print Wunder Unders Organic

by Cristina December 16, 2010
written by Cristina

It’s so funny that I had the Waterwall print on my mind today (posted earlier today) and low and behold an Australian Product alert comes in with a Waterwall print. These Wunder Under Crops Organic are quite fun but I really want this print (HVR MUWW) in a tank like the Cool Raceback Tank, Modern Racerback Tank or the Candlelight Tank.

I’m super excited about seeing this print finally and I suspect we will see it on tomorrows upload or maybe next week. My reasoning is that we’re all consumed now with Christmas shopping so the product release this week has been pretty small compared to the weeks before. Most of us probably wont be ordering anything tomorrow unless it’s something that is really special, so Lulu probably pulled this one back during the original product alert emails (after seeing how popular the multi state of mind print was) and decided to release it during an expected slow period. This is all just a hunch but I have been told by an educator that sometimes products they expect to be released on a certain date can get pulled back on very short notice.

And last week I gave you this sneak peek (here) of the Dip Dye Modern Racer Tank photographed by a reader but here it is on a product alert.

A Year In Review Series – Day 4 : Outerwear 2010

by Cristina December 16, 2010
written by Cristina

Last year I was really disappointed that I didn’t get to buy the tweed bomber jacket because I was pretty pregnant at the time and had no idea what size I would need for this winter so I reluctantly passed on it and regretted it. Early on this fall I decided that I would jump when I saw a jacket that I loved. I got the Audrey Jacket on the first day it was released and have loved it dearly and used it, even on the coldest day we had (so far) back in November. I had kept the tags on it for such a long time even though it sold out in stores the week it was released because I needed to be 100% sure I loved it more then the bomber jacket in case it came up on ebay or the exchange.  The more I’ve used it now the more I love it. Lululemon really makes great trench weight jackets that look so great with luon pants or dressed up with jeans so I’m really glad I splurged on this jacket. It may not have been a versatile jacket for the weather in most places but for Vancouver weather it’s really quite perfect as it can go from fall to winter to spring.

I’ve also seen a lot of girls around town wearing the Community Jacket in Coal and it’s looked cute every time I’ve seen it, I sort of regret not getting the Coal one on markdown at the Factory Outlet when I came across it. The other jacket I’ve loved this year was the Plum Shale Hustle Jacket (and the other colors as well). I thought it was such a pretty design, had great reflectivity and an awesome fit. Sadly, although the Run: Inspire Jacket was quite lovely as well it had an unfortunate tightness in the arms, chest and shoulders which made it a pass for a lot of people despite loving the design. The Inspire Jacket ended up going as low as $69 on markdown in some places in the US and I almost almost got one but decided to pass on it since I use my Running Room Jacket with gigantic reflective strips on it. It’s a very utilitarian looking jacket but my husband got it for me on my birthday and so I’m attached to it despite it’s un-Luluness.

A Coal Pique Stride just popped up in a product notification. I still haven’t seen this in any local stores yet but have been wanting to check it out.

Repriced! Lift Your Spirits Jacket (Brushed Power Luxtreme)

by Cristina December 16, 2010
written by Cristina

Thanks to a reader for letting me know, the Lift Your Spirits Jacket has been repriced from $148 to $118 which is the same price as the brushed strides. Once again, thank you Lululemon for listening to customer feedback. I hope the Brushed Power Luxtreme can be used to make Strides because I would love a Stride in this fabric.

Upload Thursday Eve

by Cristina December 16, 2010
written by Cristina

We’ll the only thing I’m hoping for tomorrows upload is a glimpse of the new Black Sailor Stripe Stride, Sailor Stripe Power Y and Relaxed Fit Pants in Sailor Stripe that have been spotted in various showrooms and I wrote about that over here. There is also a Black Sailor Stripe Live Simply Tee and a White Sailor Stripe Live Simply Tee coming.  None of the local stores have gotten these items yet so I don’t think we’ll see them tomorrow but it may be a ‘surprise items’ kind of upload tomorrow. I really love the print so even though I don’t plan on getting these items I’m really curios to see them.

I think what will tempt me tomorrow is if I see a new fabulous print. Prints always feel special and one of a kind so I feel the need to not miss out on them when they do show up. The Multi State of Mind print was a pretty gorgeous surprise print that I’m glad I jumped on. If I see this rainbow Waterwall Print Candlelight Tank tomorrow I’ll jump on that for sure. This tank appeared in many product notifications (one locally) but has not actually been spotted in person yet. I’m bored with the colors out now and what I need instead of a new color is variety in the form of a great print. My closet is now stocked with the run gear I need and casual wear to boot so I need to modify my collecting to only prints.

What are you planning on getting tomorrow?

The Rejuvenate Jacket

by Cristina December 15, 2010
written by Cristina

The more photos I see of the Rejuvenate Jacket the more I feel it’s not actually bad. Not something I would wear but I would certainly admire it on others. It looks like the inside of the jacket is lined with Casis.

Lululemon Stock

by Cristina December 15, 2010
written by Cristina

An amazing must read post from My Superficial Endeavors analyzing Lululemon stock. Very insightful, especially since she’s an analyst by day.

“But I also find it strange that with all the popularity, Lululemon does not trademark any of their performance fabrics.  A big part of their selling point is the quality of their performance fabrics such as luon, luxtreme, silverescent, etc.  In fact, they don’t even have long term contracts with raw material suppliers which is pretty risky as the suppliers can 1. increase the price unexpectedly and in turn increase cost for Lulu, and 2. umm stop supplying under short notice and disrupt Lulu’s inventory flow.  As much potential as this company has, they really need a solid senior management team in order to stay afloat with their rapid growth rate.  Brand loyalty will fade if they lose quality and reputation.”
