A few weeks ago I got the Heathered Power Purple/Micro Stripe Cool Racerback and really love it, mostly because it’s very soft like running luon. Today I ended up seeing the Black Microstripe Cool Racerback version of it and got it for my new Sister in Law who just announced her pregnancy yesterday =D (I don’t think she knows of my blogging endeavors yet so it’s unlikely she’ll read this) my mom and I waffled between getting her a Swiftly Tech Tee or the Cool Racerback and we ended up deciding on the Cool Racerback because cozy is the # 1 deciding factor for a pregnancy wardrobe. The Swiftly’s are soft and cool but not as cozy and versatile as a neutral Cool Racerback which can be layered with other tanks or tees. If your thinking of getting a Cool Racerback anytime soon I really recommend these microstripe ones as they seem to be softer, especially the Heathered Power Purple one.

Yesterday we were busy with lots of pre Christmas activities such as Christmas Shopping and the Bright Nights Stanley Park Christmas train and so by the time I got home I was too tuckered out to do my Year in Review Post even though I had it half prepared for just that very reason. I fell asleep within the first 5 minutes of turning on the Griswolds Christmas Vacation movie. So, to make up for it today you are getting two Year in Review Posts.
Day 8: Wraps None of the wraps this year really wowed me but I did break down and buy the Iconic wrap as I liked the versatility of a shorter thin cotton wrap that I can wear over top of Cool Racerbacks or other tanks throughout the year extending the life of my tank wardrobe. I loved the colors the Express Yourself Wrap came in but the shape of it didn’t work for me. I also shied away from it because I had heard rumours about massive pilling issues with it. In the end I broke down and got the Chai time pullover (same knit as the Express Yourself Wrap) despite my reservations and so far have noticed a bit of pilling in the underarm which I can pick off easily without a de piller, nothing major or troublesome. If this knit is used again in a new style of wrap and in a color I love I would probably go for it.
The Awareness wrap was much anticipated as we were all hoping for a reincarnation of the Gratitude Wrap which never ended up making an appearance. The Gratitude Wrap from 2009 sold on ebay and the exchange page for well over original retail price throughout the year with many people still lined up and waiting for one to pop up. I think Lululemon really missed out on the opportunity with this wrap and should have probably released fewer colors of the Awareness Wraps and had a few colors of the Gratitude Wrap released. Last year they had 10 Gratitude Wrap colors online as well as special store specific colors, that’s an insane # of colors to be released in a very short time frame for one item. The Awareness Wrap has not been as popular as the Gratitude Wrap or the Savasana Wrap.

Day 9: Tee’s: I reserved this category to just the Pima tee’s. I’m a big tee shirt wearer so I think I have at least one of each category. I loved my Lululemon tee’s for pregnancy and that is really where my appreciation for the perfect tee started. I love a fitted tee that has a longer length and good stretch. My disappointment in this category has been the 5yr Pima in Angel Blue. I think there was something wrong with they dye process used because a few of my cotton angel blue items have had mysterious yellow marks appear randomly. I’ve heard a few others complain about the exact same thing and also spotted a lot of Angel Blue Pimas on markdown early on after it’s release. My Angel Blue 5yr Pima was relegated to pajama shirt early on as it seemed to stain with even water or baby drool so I’ve come to the conclusion that Angel Blue had a bad dye process (maybe it wasn’t fixed properly) that affected mainly the cotton items.
My top favourite cotton tee in this category is the Live Simply Black Roses Print. I really didn’t like it all that much in the pictures i’d seen online and when I tried it on in a size 8 but when I ordered it online I got it in a smaller size 6 and with a great layout of the print and I much prefer this tee as a fitted top instead of a looser fitting tee. It’s now my favourite tee to wear and I think it’s so pretty under my Gratitude Wrap or layered with my Pig Pink Cool Racerback underneath.
I really also liked the Cabin LS a lot. loved the design and color I got and really loved that it was a thicker reversible shirt. I didn’t like that the Heathered Haze side on mine got very pilly all over within it’s first few uses despite proper washing and hanging to dry. I’ve heard several complaints of the same issue on these shirts as well as some who have complained that there shirts have pilled between the two layers. I again feel this is an issue of the heathered fabrics and perhaps the ph level of the dye used. I do still wear my Cabin LS as I love it but I mostly wear it with the Coal side out.

I’m really liking this Power Purple Hustle Jacket as well as the Plum Shale. I have them both on my radar just in case I make some exchange page sales but I’m losing a bit of hope on the Plum Shale as it seems to be sold out everywhere I’ve looked. The Power Purple Hustle is solid Power Purple with no design in it. I think Lululemon really did a great job in the design of this jacket from the reflectivity to the fit as well as the color/print options it came in, I don’t think I’ve disliked any of the colors/prints.
Here is a picture of the new Run: Resolution LS (running luon). I like it much better then the Resolution Pullover pictured below. This to me looks more like a LS version of the Alpine Pullover with the shoulder rouching.
This is an interesting print called Passion Plaid Wish Blue (PRAPwshb) in the Speed Shorts. Please lulu, for the new year can you do more florals and damasks and fewer stripes, plaids and geometric prints. When I saw the Black Roses Print Groovy Run Shorts and Speed shorts I thought those were seriously cool shorts that I would love to wear this spring.
Looks like Lululemon just added the Winter 2010 Color Chart online. I’ve loved Wish, Very Violet, Power Purple and Haze and don’t think I’ll ever get tired of those colors. I’m glad they added the Multi Poncho Print in this group, I don’t think they’ve done prints on the color charts in the past. I wish they would always add in the prints to the color pallets because googling for prints is really the only way to find them and I’ve often wished Lululemon kept a catalog of prints on a Flickr album.
I’m not loving the design of this one (much to my relief). I think I mostly dislike the rouching at the yoke on the bust. This pullover is made of Running Luon and comes in Passion.
Darn it it’s so cute I don’t think I’ll be able to resist this one even though I feel like I have more pullovers then I actually really need. I love the neck on this and am really glad they put reflective strips on the forearms. I wonder if it has a watch hole, cuffins an thumbholes. This is supposed to be a longer pullover with extra coverage and a heavy weight Brushed Power Luxtreme. A reader had mentioned GEC says this is $99 which is a very acceptable price.
Looking back at all the pullovers this year my thoughts are, wow, there was a lot of static. Almost everything came out in many many static colors and solid colors where rare. My first run pullover ever was in early Spring when I got the Run Like The Wind Pullover in White with Wee Stripe. That one served me quite well in the chilly spring air as I was just starting out but the size 12 soon was too large for me and it got too warm out to wear. I prefer the cottony feel of luon to luxtreme for pullovers anyways so I was happy to upgrade.
In the summer we were given a sneak peek video that showed the Lolo Inspire Pullover and we all went mad with anticipation. I think something held those pullovers up in production because it took an entire 8 weeks of many of us stocking GEC after the sneak peek video for it to show up in the US – we haven’t had a sneak peek video since. Later we saw the Dash Pullovers in solid luon and the Wish blue luon was sooo gorgeous. I passed on that pullover after having a visit with it as I didn’t love the fit of it on me and I couldn’t keep it simply for the love of the color. Next came the gorgeous Alpine Pullover. I bought one in Haze and held on to it for a few weeks and sadly parted ways with it when I decided I didn’t need it, although I loved it. I still feel bad that I passed on that one but I really didn’t need two tech fleece pullovers. My current run pullover count stands at 2 Run Inspire pullovers (Lilac and Teal Zeal) and one Spirit Pullover which I won on ebay. I’m considering the new brushed power luxtreme Run Ambition Pullover for early spring running, I love the design of the cuffed hem and neckline and I loved the feel of the brushed power luxtreme in the new Lift Your Spirits Jacket but I’m not sure that running luon wont be adequate and that I actually really need a 4th pullover.
