My love affair with the Tadasana pant has been on and off since Cristina first posted a picture of it on this blog. Initially, I fell in love with the straighter leg, and the fact that it was the first black luon straight-legged pant to have a drawstring to turn them into crops. But then, as made their appearance in a few stores, I read some reviews from others mentioning how tight the pants were in the calf area. Then, I wasn’t so sure anymore since I find that the shape of the Wunder Unders does nothing for me with the tightness in that area. Once they finally hit my stores, I rushed out to try them on, and the love affair was back on!
These pants now top my list, primarily because I find them so versatile. However, they are also far more flattering than I thought with the boot cut and the curved seaming at the front of the leg. With our strange weather since I’ve had them, I’ve had a chance to wear them both with flip flops and boots. With flip flops, cinching the drawstring creates a perfect fit. With boots, the narrow leg fits perfectly without any bunching. I’ve also used them quite a bit for yoga at home, and I love the drawstring to keep the pants up and away so they don’t get under my feet. Style-wise, they look great with jackets/tops that better suit a narrower pant. I love my Tadasana pants with my pencil sketch WWA!
I was a bit concerned with the high-waist when I first picked up the Tadasana pant, but honestly, they are flattering , hold everything together, and have a really comfy design so they don’t feel like they’re too constricting with the high rise.
The only real downside with these is the limited colour choice; I’m not big on the lighter static grey and have so much black luon, i’d love to see them in something else so I can get another pair!
I did find that these pants are TTS. I am between a 6-8 for bottoms that are TTS but usually go with the 8 in wunder under crops and groove pants (although, I do have some in a 6 and can get away with that). I got the 8 in these and they’re fantastic. I’m 5’9” with a 34” inseam; most regular length pants are too short but these leave me with plenty of length regardless of the shoes I’m wearing.

Lulu Lab Item

by Cristina October 8, 2010
written by Cristina

The Classic Hoodie. It looks like an update to the Effortless Hoodie which had fit issues in the arms for most people.  I like this new Hoodie and think it was executed in a much nicer style, made of organic cotton with ribbed collar for $98. I love the contrasting hood ties on this one and the smaller hood. Way to go Lulu Lab!

New Stride Update

by Cristina October 7, 2010
written by Cristina

For those of you that purchased the Strides over the summer with the design defect (fraying inner arm seams and pilling ribbed luon panels) and are considering the new Strides, I have taken a picture comparing the pocket zippers details. As you can see the newer zipper (old YKK zipper), although not as cute as the old (new lulu zipper) zipper, has a much lower profile and the ribbed luon has been removed. Hopefully this change solves the problem.

High/Low

by Cristina October 7, 2010
written by Cristina

More High/Low styles from Joe Fresh at Superstore I think this is my favourite find so far and thanks to Cheryl for providing the picture and the tip off. T shirts remarkably similar to 5yr Pimas! The Joe Fresh version that I got is 100% tightly woven cotton, almost identical cut as the 5yr Pimas but slightly longer and it’s a similar luxurious feel to the Pima cotton. They are really silky and thin but without the ‘chafe free seams” and it’s not a Pima/Lycra blend so slightly less stretchy around the hip area. The colors I’ve seen are (and these are Lulu names) ‘Ocean blue’, “Fruity Tooty Pink” black, white and grey and there were two greens, this Kelly green pictured bellow and a deep rich emerald/jade green which is the one I got and it’s my favourite. I really love my Lulu Pimas & Moderns but I think for the price difference I like these ones as well. I find Pima cotton, because it’s so tightly woven (The weave is what makes it a Pima) it hangs on to stains that normally wouldn’t hang around. I like finding these cheap and cheerful tee’s for just $10. Will they last 5 years? Probably not. But for $10 there pretty great and I think they’l last at least a season.

PS. Sorry to all my US and International readers (Porto Rico, Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore etc, etc. Hello, to you guys…can’t believe you found me somehow). These items are too great for us locals to not post about. US I’m sure you have some great High/Low items at Target. If you find any that are very similar to Lulu feel free to let me know.

** if you plan on picking these up make sure you grab the 100% cotton ones and not the 95% blends as they feel quite different and have a different cut.

So what did you guys get today? I got the brushed luon Relaxed Fit pants as I’ve been needing long pants for a while and these sound cozy. I’ll try them on tomorrow and see if I like them.

Notice the price of the non brushed Luon Stride is now $108? If you purchased it at $118 you should have received a phone call by now. Sorry GEC for pestering about it but I’m sure you have some pretty pleased customers now with some hot gift cards.

Can you tell from this picture that the Grooves are an updated version with less of a leg flare? I’m not a groove wearer but may give these new ones a try.

Anyone notice the Relaxed Fit Pants in Brushed Luon that’s been sitting there for a few days now?

This is the Heathered Wish headband I’d been mentioning in posts bellow. I’m thinking we’ll be seeing this in some tops soon  and probably the Inspire Pullover. Hopefully a Gratitude Wrap.  I would love a long sleeve Modern in this actually.

Upload Thursday Eve Musings

by Cristina October 6, 2010

Well it’s been pretty exciting this week with all of the new colors but so far the only thing I got is the Stride in Haze which is brushed luon on the inside. I’m thinking we’ll see all of the new items we’ve been posting about all week uploaded tomorrow but perhaps a few more surprise items. I’ve heard that the Inspire Pullover will be out in the new colors (Plum, Lilac and Teal Zeal) so perhaps that will get uploaded tomorrow too. Not sure I’ll bite if it’s the identical design as the last run of Inspire Pullovers. I’m hoping we’ll see some of the upgraded Gratitude Wraps tomorrow in some great colors like Static Plum or Static Wish. That for sure would make me bite. There have been a few mentions of a Plum Stride on FB but I have a feeling people are perhaps thinking the Haze Stride is Plum. I haven’t come across any pictures of it yet. Maybe someone saw it in store somewhere.

These are my wish list items for tomorrow but I may or may not get them if there uploaded. I think the item I most like is the static plum Power Y. For running, the only item I really need is a long sleeve swiftly to replace my LS Swiftly size 12 Lagoon (anyone interested in it?) but not so sure about the thinness of the new colors – much silkier yes but I think it’s way more delicate. Also not so sure how flattering a pale swiftly will be around my tummy area. Something I want to try on in store first I think and on a brave day.

Swiflty LS’s

by Cristina October 6, 2010
written by Cristina

I love the look of the Lilac Swiftly but when I was in store yesterday it seemed quite a bit thinner and more delicate from my Lagoon one that I got back in April so I hesitated in buying it. I felt the same difference with the Senorita Pink last week. The Teal Zeal is very pretty in person as well and it’s quite a lovely green, almost jewel tone like. Much more green in it than any of the teals that have been out lately (Oasis, Lagoon). So I think I’m going to wait and see on buying these ones despite the lovely and very tempting colors. I don’t baby my lagoon one at all and I don’t want to have to baby these ones.

Static Plum & Space Dye Lilac

by Cristina October 6, 2010
written by Cristina

An even better picture of Static Plum. While I was in store yesterday I saw a headband (the double ones) and there was a Static Wish and it gorgeous. I’m crossing my fingers we’ll see more Static Plum and Static Wish in other items.
This Space Dye Lilac is so pretty paired with the Teal Zeal straps on the Everywhere bag that’s out. I think if I get this top I’m going to need a Teal Zeal Skinny Satin Pirouette headband.

More High/Low styles from Joe Fresh if your not convinced your going to need to invest in a big parka for your climate.

*And here is a link to Joe Fresh Blog post by Jillian Harris (from the bachelorette) that was an interesting read.

Instead of the Pinnacle Jacket

Why Not the Belted Parka for $59 (left) with a very similar style belt clip or the Down Duffle Coat for $89. I love that Joe Fresh comes out with these jackets in a gazilion color options.

Plum, Teal, Wish and Lilac

by Cristina October 5, 2010
written by Cristina

*Still waiting to hear about the price of the New Strides and wether it’s just the brushed luon ones that are supposed to be $118 or a 9% increase on all of them. So far there all marked at $118.  I’ll let you guys know as soon as I hear back. From what I was able to see the brushed Luon jackets are the Teal Zeal, Haze + Coal and possibly the Coal and Space Dye (not the fully printed one).

Power Y in Static Plum. I love this and it’s been wish listed along with the Lilac Swiftly.

Teal Zeal Swiftly and Wish Blue leather Everywhere bag
This is a new inner liner. Would be perfect for a diaper bag to disguise messes.

Lilac Space Dye. Second wish list item

New Groove pants. These have a different cut from the last version of Groove pants. Less of a flare at the bottom which is good because the old style was a little bit dated.
