The Stride Saga

by Cristina October 21, 2010
written by Cristina

**Note: I’ll be running new posts under this one today so make sure to scroll down for fresh pictures.

Well now there are a few reports via Facebook of the current batch of Strides (pictured bellow) having seam fray issues which the GEC has not been made aware of. Please take a moment to read through this thread from Facebook and this second one too. If you are someone that has a current batch stride and your having fraying seam issues please post in the comments section bellow my post. If you’ve returned it to a store or have attempted to would you please also post the store you returned it to. Having these issues reported and documented will be helpful in letting GEC know what types of issues are happening and where. I believe the feedback from readers of this blog in the comments section is an invaluable resource for Lululemon. my hope is that this encourages Lululemon to take a closer look at some of the issues we’ve been seeing lately as customers and that they take steps to improve whatever is happening in the production or design stage.

This is meant as a constructive post for Lululemon so please keep comments to just the issue you had with your stride from this batch bellow, the color, the store returned or attempted return. I’m sure Lululemon will make note of each comment and am quite confident that they will take our concerns seriously.

Fridays Post ~ Seaspray, Hot Racerbra, Run: Dash Crops and More To Come

by Cristina October 21, 2010
written by Cristina

Close up of Seaspray inner liner on the plum Awareness Wrap. Seaspray is like white with a touch of teal.

I love Lilac. This is so pretty. Hopefully it fits me. This is the Hot Racer Bra

I just love these crops in the lilac with the pretty little ruffle on the bottom. If it didn’t have the mesh at the back and I didn’t need winter weight running pants I would be snatching these up. Hopefully these become a year round offering.

Upload Thursdays

by Cristina October 21, 2010
written by Cristina

Well it looks like that’s it for Upload. I’m quite surprised that there was not more since many items were uploaded last night without pictures and also there are lots of new items in store that haven’t made it to upload just yet. It was a good upload I would say, just not what I expected. What did you guys buy today? Nothing for me today.

Heart Tank in Black. I think the black one is the most wearable since it doesn’t have the contrast color. I did love the other colors but the contrast band just didn’t work for me.

Cuddle Up Jacket. I like the Lilac one the best.
Awareness Wrap. I saw all of the colors in person and thought for sure my favourite would be the Coal and Lilac one but I ended up loving the Plum with Seaspray contrast. Seaspray is like a Teal tinged white.

Stride in Wish Blue & Coal with Black Roses Print

by Cristina October 21, 2010
written by Cristina

Last week two mysterious Strides were momentarily uploaded to the Lululemon site along with some Plum and Wish Express Wraps. Well it looks like someone was able to purchase that Wish Blue/MOPS (poncho print) stride and post it on ebay for $125. You can tell it’s a newer version Stride based on the thicker hood pulls and the zipper pull. Someone else was able to purchase the Coal With Roses Print one (pictured bellow) and loves it. Both are very cute!

Upload Thursdays Eve Musings

A few of you probably remember my incessant posting of ‘wanted: Ivory Huff ‘N Puff Vest. Well, today thanks to a readers tip off (thank you so much!!) of one listed on ebay I was able to get it for retail price New With Tags. I’m so glad I got it because I just haven’t been 100% happy with the colors out at the moment for the Peace Of Mind Vests but I’ve been quite satisfied with my Joe Fresh $29 Vest that a neutral colored vest is quite practical and useful in my life so I’m happy to upgrade to this one. Since the main item I’ve been awaiting from lulu the Awareness Wrap posted about bellow ,a bust for me I don’t think I’ll be buying anything else for a while. I still have tags on my Teal Zeal Run Inspire Pullover just in case. If the new Dash Pullover becomes available tomorrow and I love it I can return the Run Inspire but I think I’m preferring the one I have. I am quite in love with my Lilac Inspire Pullover since it’s been upgraded so I think I’m pretty set for Running Luon. My exception of course is if something comes out in heathered or static Wish Blue. I love that color so much.

My wish list would be for something I have not seen yet. A long sleeve Pima in Heathered or Static Wish Blue, An Inspire Pullover in Static or Wish Blue or a fleece pullover of some type. These are all unlikely so  I’m pretty sure the wallet will have a rest.

What are you hoping to buy?

Make me a Heathered or Static Wish Blue one of these please!

Awareness Wrap Fit Review #2

by Cristina October 20, 2010
written by Cristina

Sadly I left the store without an Awareness Wrap. I want to start by saying I really, really like the wrap and  ended up liking the Plum/Seaspray one on me best of all (the classic sports grey bellow is my close second). I also saw a black one with whisper grey inner liner. My issue with this wrap is the same I have with the Savasana. The jacket does not close properly on someone with wider hips. Sizing up didn’t help at all for me as I’m small from the waist up. The size 10 was huge on me and looked really baggy but even then because of the narrower body fit it did not sit closed at the very bottom and I could tell as I move around it would just slide open even more as the cotton sort of catches a bit. The size 8 fit perfectly in the arms shoulders, chest and midsection but looked pulled open obviously at the bottom. I say, if you don’t have really wide hips/small upper body ratio issues then you will love this wrap. The hood is adorable and I love the ribbed detailing in the back. Arms were not snug at all just fitted and felt really comfortable. The pocket placement was a little odd as it’s not directly on your sides but slightly farther back so when you go to put your hands in your pockets your looking for them first.

Hot Racer Bra

by Cristina October 20, 2010
written by Cristina

I saw this today in black and really liked it. It’s very similar to the Free to Be Bra but with a circle mesh racerback. If I’d seen it in this color I would have grabbed it. Instead I got a Gathered Racerback Tank in Grey (dark classic sports grey?) for $29.

Guest Post: Review by Vicki – Awareness Wrap

by Cristina October 20, 2010
written by Cristina

Pardon this post if it goes off on a tangent, I am watching the season finale of Teen Mom, and I do like my trash tv J So I headed up to Metrotown tonight to check out the much hyped Awareness Wrap. I’m not up on all the current or past wraps, I have no idea what the gratitude or savasana wraps look like and couldn’t tell you the difference between the two to save my life!

I went in looking for either the grey or the plum and after trying both on, went with the plum.
I normally take an 8, with exception to the strides and remixes, which I size down to a 6 for the tighter feel so I grabbed both a 6 and an 8 to take to the change room. The 8 was definitely too big, it made me look huge! It had a very “sack of potatoes” look to it. I tried both colors on in the 6 and the plum definitely looked better, which I think is due to the fact that plum looks dressier than the light grey does. Unfortunately I was wearing lined DSP’s, which I bought in a size bigger to be looser so I had quite the hobo chic look going on. It was very comfy, the sleeves were very fitted and cute and I can see myself taking fall strolls, arm in arm with my hubby, through town, crunching the leaves, and window shopping. Yeah, thats right, this wrap will change my life! Haha, suuuure! It is very cute though!

Thank you Vicki!

Awareness Wrap

by Cristina October 19, 2010
written by Cristina

Here is a picture of the Awareness Wrap that hit stores today in Canada. The colors it comes in is Plum/Seaspray/Black Roses Print, Coal/Lilac Roses Print and Black/Whisper/Black Roses Print all pictured bellow. First report on Facebook is that the sizing is the same as the Gratitude Wrap. I take an 8 in the Gratitude Wrap but it’s wide at the bottom so I don’t have to make accommodations for my hips. When I tried on the Savasana Wrap a while ago in a size 10 it stayed open at the very bottom because of my wider hips. I really hope this one fits more like the GW for me because I love the look of this wrap. A lot. I was worried that I wouldn’t when I first heard it looked like the Savasana but to me it really looks like a blend of both. Like someone on FB said, it looks like Savasana and GW had a baby together. I love the very large hood, the two tone, The ribbed arms and the streamlined front with no buttons really showing. I think the neckline and pockets keeps the front from looking too plain. I still hope to see a return of the Gratitude Wrap as it has a really lovely neckline and many options for how to button it up. I also love the double breasted snap buttons on it and the ribbing detail at the elbows and back.  But this wrap is pretty cute. I think I’m much more a wrap person than a hoodie person right now.

* The inside scoop is that the Coquitlam store is for some reason not receiving these wraps. Or at least not this run of them much to the disappointment of the educators at that store who were looking forward to trying them on.There may be more colors coming at a later point that they may get but they are not on the list of stores receiving these which means it’s a limited release item. This is something that happened at the Oakridge store with the first run of Inspire Pullovers and some other stores with the Wear With All Jackets in Pig Pink, Clarity Grey and Snorkel Blue. I’ll be grabbing one tomorrow (not sure yet which one) and depending if I love it I may get another color of the next run of colors (if there is one).
