Run Dash Pullover Fit Report & More

by Cristina November 8, 2010

I got a chance to try on the Dash Pullover and many, many more new items so keep checking here for add ons.

Run Dash Pullover: I tried on both a size 10 and a size 8 and ended up brining the size 10 in Wish Blue home for a visit  -let me know what you think. I love the solid Wish running luon but I’m not enamoured with the pullover itself. One thing I noticed and pointed out in the second picture is that the scoop seam detailing hangs down quite low and draws attention to my Flow Y bra which is showing through. the second thing I didn’t like is the zipper guard on the collar pictured below. It’s quite a huge piece of fabric compared to the Inspire pullover zipper garage (which is slightly folded over in this shot) so this prevents me from wearing this unzipped slightly the way I wear my Inspire. I find the collar to be a lot like the Define Jacket in it’s unfinished look.  Also, the issue we found with the pockets of the first run of Inspire Pullovers (not sewn in all the way around) is again an issue with this top. Now I don’t understand why, if they were able to make the change for the second run of Inspire Pullovers why they wouldn’t make that change to these before releasing them.

Run Dash LS in size 8.  A better fit in my opinion.

And a shot of the pocket detail.

Run Dash LS Very Violet (also saw Static Persimmon -didn’t dig it).

I liked the color of this one but I want a soft non static running luon LS so I may end up getting the Plum LS or just not getting one at all. Hrmph! Static is nice in small doses such as in a tank but I really prefer a warmer softer feel for a long sleeve.

Alignment Tank – Luon light. Built in Bra, moderate support

Haze Swiftly (also saw Persimmon and Wish)

Outward Bound Pants, Coal size 10

These pants were Luon in the back and Glyde in the front with an inner layer of technical fleece. Quite thick and slightly stiff so I do recommend trying on the size up for comfort, but they were comfortable enough that I would wear these for a run if need be. These were roomy but because of the thick double layer of fabric it felt slightly constricting. The rise was a mid rise and comfortable for me. I’m not convinced it will get so cold here in Vancouver that I will need these. They were very, very warm so I think it’s perfect for somewhere like Saskatoon but just not for Vancouver. I think I can make do with some fleece lined luxtreme tights if they ever make those.

And currently  (now vanished) on the Canadian side of Lululemon.com is the Wish Blue Poncho Stripe Scuba (thanks to Megan for pointing out).

The Outward Bound Pant

New winter running pants!
Glyde on the outside and technical fleece on the inside. These pants look promising! I like that they aren’t a tight but an actual pant. Hopefully they aren’t a low rise pant although judging by the picture they do look like a low rise pant.

Podium Jacket

written by Cristina

Now this one really reminds me of the Vancouver Olympics Medal Volunteer Jackets (i’ll add a picture when I find it) mostly because it’s a white mid length a-line coat. I like this one a  bit better then the Pinnacle because it’s a bit shorter which is a good thing for us shorties. I also like that the belt closure is a bit hidden. Not much information is given on this one.

Vancouver Olympics Volunteer Coat

Primaloft Insultation ‘perfect for Vancouver winters’.  probably means it’s not super warm,

Run: Dash Pullover Hits Ebay

by Cristina November 8, 2010
written by Cristina

The Run: Dash Pullover has hit ebay sooner then in some stores or Lululemon FB albums so we don’t yet get to see a modelled picture which is disappointing because I’ve really been wanting to see how that scoop seam detail looks on over different busts. My guess is that it will be way more flattering on larger chested (gifted) ladies as apposed to smaller chested women. So far, from what I see in these pictures I’m liking my Inspire pullover better for the ruched feminine neck line and the hip contrast detail which is ribbed luon and helps with the fit around wider hips. Although I do like the pretty ruffle on the sleeve and the placement of the reflective strip for the sake of running, I probably wouldn’t like it for street use as those two elements are quite obvious.  I’m tempted a little bit by the Static Lilac as it is so soft and amazing in the Run Inspire that I’ve been greedily considering scoping up anything and everything that may come out in that exact fabric/color. I’m like a greedy cheshire cat these days with running pullovers.

When I first saw the Product Notice pictures (sorry for the misaligned persimmons picture below) I noticed the seams on the back were not lined up properly at the bottom and it looked uneven where the pocket is. I figured it was just because this was a mock up picture. But now that I see the real life pictures I notice some puckered seaming in the same area (noted on the lilac picture) and I wonder if it’s in fact caused by the pattern not lining up properly. Lately I’ve noticed items in stores that have uneven seams on design elements that are supposed to be quite symmetrical. In the same items, some are perfectly symmetrical and some are not. Now I take care to double check all these things before leaving the store because I know if I catch it later, after I’ve torn the tags off it would drive me bananas. I’m curios to see how that particular seam in the back looks in real life as it’s hard to judge by a few pictures if this is the case with this top or it’s just how it’s been spread out on the surface.

Here you can see the seam detail comparisons between the Inspire Pullover (bottom) and the Dash Pullover (top).

Dash LS In Static Blue

by Cristina November 6, 2010
written by Cristina

I LOVE! Awe. SO pretty! Glad I waited for it.

Word on the street is that it’s also going to be available in Static Very Violet. This excites me because the Static Very Violet seems to have the same static luon recipe as the Static Lilac Inspire Pullover (less Polyester fibres?) and so feels different to me and much nicer then any of the other static colors that have been out (Lolo was close). I have fallen surprisingly in love with Very Violet and so will probably be more tempted by that one then I am by this Wish Blue one.

** upon further thinking about it I’ve decided I like this but don’t love it. I prefer it to be the Matte Static Wish like the Power Y and not the Cool Racerback Silky/shiny Static Luon. I also don’t love the ruffle as much in this color. My preference would have been just a plain old LS running luon shirt with no circle mesh, no contrast details and just matte static wish in color.  Just a plain old long sleeve running luon shirt in Static Blue. Oh well. Perhaps in person I will love it more.

Fast In Flight Bag Detail

New in lululemon tote bags and women’s gym bags! The Fast in Flight Tote

A few shots of the purple plaid and wooly Fast in Flight bag. I love lululemon tote bags so much! The lululemon gym bag designers where pretty amazing creating so much clever storage, and all the practical features they always think of.

This was one of the best tote designs for lululemon that worked so well for to-from work. they always include a laptop pocket, with an additional shoe bag. You are lucky if you can score one of these beautiful bags on the retail market. People do not like to give them up!

The Fast in Flight Bag came in many different colors and textures. My top favourite was Ivy, and also the Zap Green in the silky nylon. They also had Oasis in a quilted puffer material, and these lovely wooly winter versions in the plaid.

I really like this bag in the black/white/ghost/grey plaid as well. It looks really sharp with her outfit here.

What is your favourite lululemon bag of all time? Have you checked out some of their older styles? Where you a customer when some of these where available? Let us know in the comments!

Stand Strong Tank and New Scubas

by Cristina November 5, 2010
written by Cristina

Stand Strong Tank in Black. I like it in black. I tend to stay away from black cottons of all kinds but in luxtreme and luon light it always stays crisp and dark and doesn’t fade so it always looks quite sharp. I’m in want of a Black and Coal Cool Racerback to add to my collection eventually.

New Scubas. I like pictures like this one that show all of the new colors together and modeled.

SE Heathered Charcoal/River Rock, Teal Zeal, Wish Blue, SE Lolo, Plum, Lilac, Tooty Fruity.
