Confessions: Your Lulu Closets Part II

by Cristina February 6, 2011
written by Cristina

Opponents of consumerism please avert your eyes, we are simply doing our part for the world economy, rescued one lulu purchase at a time. This is the start of a new series of posts showcasing the closets of readers. I’ll be keeping these images anonymous to protect those that sent images from closet looting. I can already see items in there that are making me want to raid your closets. If you would like to participate, I would love to collect your images for future posts. Email me at [email protected].I think we all enjoy the lulu eye candy. Somehow it’s funner seeing generations of loved Lululemon items all in situ as apposed to seasonal items in the stores.

What items do you see in these collections that you wish had been yours?

*These are closets from several different readers.

I love that I got an image from a male reader. His hoodie collection is just as drool worthy and beautifully organized. He mentioned that he forgot to add 2 hoodies in there, his Canada and US ones, so I’ll be reposting his next image on another post.
Love the Live Simply Jacket peaking out in the middle.
The Plum Scuba. I really regret not getting that one. There were so few items out in solid plum and it’s such an amazing color on brunettes.
This closet reminds me of the pants wall at Lululemon. I wish I had this kind of storage. I spy 4 2010 Cuddle Ups!
Lots of shorts on the left.
I love this storage idea. So beautiful and the kind of storage you would use for something really special.
The secret shoe box of hang tags. I know a lot of people keep these for reselling purposes but I’m honestly not sure why I keep mine. There like little trophies I guess.

*These are from 4 different readers.

Love the Snorkel Micro Stripe Scuba and Multi Poncho Stripe scuba.
I spy a Hills Pullover and a Run Spirit Pullover in this collection. I have a weakness for pullovers.
This is an epic pants collection. My lulu collection is pretty top half heavy but I tend to ignore the pants. I think I have 3 – 4 pairs currently with a few more in my lulu graveyard, too ratty tatty to sell.
I spy a Hot Class Tank or Bra, the Lithograph orchid Pima that I missed out on, a lace print Power Y and a Deep V Tank in a black and white print.
I think we can all relate to this one. I have a pretty good stack of hang tags but I scatter them about in different hiding places and I’m nowhere near organized.

Items to Come…

by Cristina February 5, 2011
written by Cristina

Thanks to a few readers inside scoops we can anticipate seeing this Hot Class Tank in Sprinkler as well as Flush. Hopefully both will be solid colors since that’s what I’m waiting to see. I’ll for sure grab the Sprinkler version seen below which I originally thought was last years Bold Blue and possibly Flush but I’m not sure yet if I like Flush. It’s so close to Passion and although I do like Passion I’m not sure it flatters my skin tone. Also, there is a hooded pullover made of stretchy cotton jersey expected to hit store this month as well as a new running jacket and all new running gear. I’m really excited about these items coming soon.

A Note On Leaving Negative Comments

by Cristina February 4, 2011
written by Cristina

I’m finding quite a lot of negative comments being left in regards to images posted to this blog. Sometimes these comments are aimed at me in my personal fit reviews and sometimes it’s towards website models or the educators posing in Lululemon facebook albums. I feel the need to post this reminder of how to leave negative comments because the etiquette and respect seems to have been forgotten by a few, and sometimes one tenacious anonymous poster. Because of this I’m considering wether or not I want to continue to post my personal images with  my fit reviews from now on. My reason for posting them in the first place is to help inform readers that order off the website and are not able to try things on themselves of how items fit on a real person that is not a model. Also, some of you may have a similar figure to mine or are also between sizes and would like to see which fit you would prefer on yourself. I’ve really grown tired of comments left by trollers, or by people who are lacking in tact. I am still undecided whether I’m going to continue to put myself out there anymore and it’s really a shame to the majority who appreciates the efforts because I know most do. Unfortunately, as usual, it’s one person or a few that ruin it for the majority.

Negative comments. I usually go by this rule: If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. No one expects you to agree with what you see or read. We all have different tastes and styles. Constructive criticism and differing opinions are welcome, but there is a nice way to say something and a rude way to say something. If you can’t figure out how to say it nicely, don’t say anything at all. For example: You see someone wearing an outfit you don’t like because you think it’s too revealing. Here are some polite ways to deal with this:

  • Don’t leave a comment at all.
  • Is there anything you like about the outfit? Focus on that. You could say, “Nice color!” for example.
  • Do you simply have to mention the short hemline? Try this: “Wow, you are so bold for being able to wear something so short in public! I could never pull that off myself, but it’s great to see people taking risks like that.”
  • You may be tempted to say, “Ugh, how trashy. How can you leave the house wearing that sort of thing?” Please don’t say this or anything similar. It’s just not nice. You wouldn’t walk into someone’s house and criticise their belongings, so don’t visit their blog and leave rude comments about their attire or opinions.
  • Don’t leave negative, Anonymous comments. If you are going to say something, own up to it. If you are too afraid of saying something that can be traced back to you, don’t say it.

Fit Review ~ Hot Class Tank

by Cristina February 3, 2011
written by Cristina

I got the Hot Class Tank in Aruba/Coal the other day and was a bit torn between sizes so I thought I’d share. I tried on the size 8 (this one is an 8, TTS) in store and thought it showed too much love handles on the sides so I also tried on the size 10 which was bigger in the body but too loose in the bra portion. I decided at the last minute to stick with the size 8 as I’m training for a half marathon and don’t want to be stuck with a too big tank that I love and can’t bare to part with.  After getting home and trying it on again I don’t think the size 8 looks bad at all and I feel quite comfortable wearing it now as is. I find this tank is not supportive enough for any kind of intense work out such as running but as a Hot Yoga Tank or lounging tank I really think it’s fine for small to medium sized busts. I don’t have any cleavage spilling out of this and I’m a 36C (on good days) so I don’t think it’s scandalously unsupportive or low cut.

I really love bras made of luxtreme with circle mesh liners which is what the Aruba portion of this tank is. The bottom portion of this tank which is sheer luon feels amazing and after realizing that the Silverescent Hot Class Tank version in all black uploaded this morning was made out of a circle mesh bottom and Silverescent Luon top I decided that I just really want a solid colored one with the exact same materials used in this tank. There is a Luxtreme/Sheer Luon all black version in some stores but not at my local store just yet. The Sheer Luon is really an amazing material and feels soft like a very worn in thin pima tee.  Solid Aruba, Beachy Green, Margarita or Rubber Ducky would be gorgeous in this tank and I would probably get one more if it came in any of those colors! This is my new top favourite tank and I do plan on actually using it to Bikram’s Yoga on my monthly excursions.

Upload Thursday. Nothing for Me!

by Cristina February 3, 2011
written by Cristina

This is tempting me. But I’m waiting for the Gratitude Wrap!

Silverescent Hot Class Tank

The Online Exclusives..

Oasis Wrap

Passion Crops

What’s the big deal??

Ok, besides there not being a Gratitude Wrap (yet) I’m super disappointed in these online exclusives. Of all the 2009 items they could have brought back that would have made many people happy (Dance Pulse Wraps, Sport Cardi to name a few) I don’t think the Oasis Wrap had anyone wishing for a comeback. Nice as it may be, it’s just not special enough for hype. For the hype up of the Facebook tease you would think they were uploading something not just ho hum but something really exciting. I would have been really happy to see a Dance Pulse Wrap or a Lux Hoodie but the Passion Crops are really something I need to try on and not a must have right now item. I was tempted by the Silverescent Hot Class Tank momentarily but I can just check it out at my local store and give them the sale. I’m really not even tempted to go to the store either though unless I hear of a Rubber Ducky Scuba hitting shelves (Lululemon Coquitlam…please call me if that happens ;p) I need not rush out. The Lululemon Exchange page is now calling my name.

Does anyone feel our chain is being yanked with the Oasis Wrap? Did you buy anything today?

Upload Thursday Eve

by Cristina February 2, 2011
written by Cristina

There was very little new in stores this week so I think we’ll be seeing the Hot Class Items (Shorts, Bra and Tanks) Raw Blue Still Pants and Coal Strata Cool Racerback Tank, Margarita Strata Stripe Power Y and Special Edition Cool Racerback Tank. The mens items have already been uploaded today so perhaps there is more in store for the upload then what we’ve seen in stores.

Just posted by Lululemon!!

Keep your eyes peeled on www.lululemon.com tomorrow morning. Online only products will be arriving soon!

My wish list for Upload Thursday:

-Gratitude Wrap (heathered fox, stitch or ivory). If a damaged Gratitude Wrap in a popular color can sell for $250 on ebay then Lululemon would be crazy not to release these once again. It’s really a Spring/Fall season wrap. If lulu doesn’t do it I’m going to hire a seamstress to whip these up for me so I can sell knock offs. Not really, I’m just joking. but you get the idea. The label would say ‘lulumum‘ ;p.
-A Rubber Ducky Scuba. I don’t *need* a scuba but I would certainly get one in this color.
-More Hot Class Tanks! I’d love a solid Aruba version or even a solid Beachy Green or Margarita Green. I’ve taken the tags of my Aruba/Coal one and really, really love it. It’s a loose fit in the torso without being baby doll/maternityish but more like a loose fitting tee on the bottom. The sheer luon material is heavenly and soft and it’s the most comfortable tank I have ever worn, especially since the bra portion is made out of luxtreme with circle mesh inner liner.
-A Raw Blue Cool Racerback Tank. This is an essential closet staple.

What’s on your wish list for tomorrows upload?
