No More Phone Orders

by Cristina February 14, 2011
written by Cristina

It’s a sad day for those of you that have relied on phone orders when the online store runs out of inventory. Phone sales are no longer being offered. I suspect this will be a good thing though as that inventory will now be more streamlined into internet orders and the GEC resources will now be freed up for other phone calls. You can still place orders from the online store by phoning in, but the inventory is pulled from the online store and not a separate facility. I think most people that have used the phone order system have also used the online store so I don’t think anyone will miss out on being able to order. Perhaps this means the online inventory system will also have an update soon? Also, those of us that have enjoyed hearing Graeme’s voice will be out of luck unless we can cook up an excuse to call. Please feel free to suggest excuses to call in the comments section ;p

lululemon athletica

Hey everyone,

It is true, lululemon athletica has made the decision to end the phone sale program. Our focus will now be on enhancing our inventory levels in stores and on our website so both in-store and online guests have plenty of products to choose from. Please feel free to still call the GEC if you have any product questions, or if you want to check out store inventory prior to heading into a location. At our Guest Education Centre, we are still happy to assist you in placing an online order. If you aren’t close to one of our stores you may actually be near one of our strategic sales partners, which are yoga, pilates, and fitness studios that carry some of our core products for the season. You can also check out our website to see if you have a strategic sales partner nearby at  Thanks,

~Jenna

Scoop From Down Unda! Sheer Luon Cool Racerback

by Cristina February 14, 2011
written by Cristina

My dreams have been answered! A new Special Edition Cool Racerback Tank from an Australian product alert made of Sheer Luon which I adore. So far I have the Hot Class Tank with Sheer Luon bottom and it’s the most amazing fabric. Super soft, light weight and cool and wicks sweat almost instantly. I can’t wait to get one of these for running. This looks like the top portion of the Cool Racerback is made out of luon light, and below the bust are gathers where the Sheer Luon portion begins. Love, Love! Now I just hope it comes in a color that I also love.

Special Edition ‘Scrunch’ Cool Racerback Tank  “Flush” and also comes in Black

How It’s Going Week 3 ~ Half Marathon Training

by Cristina February 14, 2011
written by Cristina

I’ve been lazy about updating you on the progress of my training but it has been going really well. Last night I completed a 7 mile run and at the end of it I probably could have gone for another 2-3 miles. I hold back with jumping out of the training plan though because I’m paranoid and feel if I go over the 10% increase rule then I’ll immediately become injured.  I’ve found that the hardest part of the training plan is not at all the increased distances each week on my long runs but simply getting out there for a 4th run consistently. 3 runs a week is easy but by 4, it’s harder to make the time and harder to feel motivated, especially if I’m feeling a little achy. I find though that the 4th run really makes the following weeks demands that much easier. The other hard part is that my shorter runs are getting longer. My first two weeks in this training plan had short 2 mile runs but now my ‘short’ runs are 3, 4 and 5 miles. I’ve noticed this past week that I’m also recovering from my runs much faster and feeling much less achy. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m adapting or because I’ve started taking extra protein in. I’ve been making some yummy smoothies with half scoop protein powder, unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, Blueberries and Matcha green Tea powder and my vitamin D drops or if I’m short on time I’ve been having some Chocolate milk (1%, reduced sugar). I’m still mostly doing 10 minute 1 minute intervals, especially if I’m feeling sore, but I’ve done a few runs without 1 minute walk breaks and I think the farthest I’ve gone has been 5 miles.

Here are links to the supplies I’ve been using that are probably not necessary but I’ve found helpful. The protein powder I got was from the brand Progressives Therapies which my chiropractor sells and loves so that’s why I chose it. I like that the whey comes from  a good and reliable source in New Zealand. The natural vanilla flavour is really nice and it doesn’t taste weird or chalky in my smoothies. 24 g of protein, 110 calories, sweetened with Stevia and no unpronounceable items in the label…sounds all good to me. The Trigger Point Foam Roller was given to me by my sister in law who swears by it. I must say that I have a love hate relationship with it because it works, but it’s excruciatingly painful to use in tight areas.  I have tight ITB band so that’s what I use after my runs and so far so good. Also, I have back issues so when I need a good back cracking this does the trick.  Matcha green tea powder became addictive for me in my pregnancy. I was hooked on smoothies made of Matcha and blueberries for some strange reason and recently I’ve been craving them again (nope, I am not) but this time instead of having milk or frozen yogurt I’m using unsweetened almond milk and there is not much difference. Matcha has a sort of sweet nutty flavour and it goes so well with blueberries. I highly recommend it.

Factory Outlet Report

by Cristina February 12, 2011
written by Cristina

I rarely get to the Factory Outlet anymore but I made my husband pull over on our way home from errands this afternoon and the Outlet was chock a block full of people shopping. I didn’t buy anything today (I was on the lookout for Power Purple items and in particular a long sleeve swiftly) but I did see some interesting things. The most interesting was a rack of about 10 Cabin LS tee’s in Sprinkler/Heathered Ash Tropic Stripe size 8 on for $59 (these surprised me), a 5yr Pima (or similar) in Aruba, huge rack of Rejuvenate Jackets on for $59, lots of unlined black Studio Pants for $89. A few Factory Reject (stamped FR) Savasana Wraps, and a sample design wrap in Heathered Ivory that was similar (sort of) to the Gratitude Wrap but the front panel was cable knit. There was also an interesting Black Stride like Jacket with panels at the shoulders and chest of windbreaker material in a bright orange. Black Studio Jackets and an interesting Hot Hottie Bag in puffy nylon neon orange with embossed print.

My temptations today were the Aruba Pima tee, Power Y in Static Wish and Dash Tights (but they only had them in size 2 & 4). In the end I got nothing because I hate ‘final sale’ items with minimal savings. If I had seen something on my need list I may have gotten them but I hate impulse buys at the Outlet, I always regret them.

Spotted! Cameron Diaz in Head to Toe Lululemon

by Cristina February 12, 2011
written by Cristina

Thanks to reader Jennifer for spotting this image. Cameron Diaz looking amazing in her Power Purple Cool Racerback Tank, 50 Rep Bra underneath (I think) and Empower Crops. Power Purple is a color that looks amazing on so many people. It’s girly without being too girly. I’m currently on the hunt for the Power Purple Run Swiftly Tech LS that I missed the boat on and am sad that I passed on this Cool Racerback Tank.

New Image Of The Solace Jacket

by Cristina February 12, 2011
written by Cristina

I found a new image of the Solace Jacket and I’m really liking it a lot. I shy away from black though so hopefully we’ll see this come out brown or some other dark neutral. It comes up to a 12 and priced at $108.

Heads Up! Loot Upload

by Cristina February 11, 2011
written by Cristina

Lululemon has been uploading Loot items today so make sure to check it out. There are a few goodies in there. If the Hustle Jacket gets uploaded I highly recommend it. Although I’ve seen some pretty amazing prices on ebay for the Hustle Jacket. I paid full price for mine but it’s such a great jacket that I don’t even feel bad about that.

New! Run Pace Setter Pullover

by Cristina February 11, 2011
written by Cristina

Thanks to a reader for this tip off. The new Pace Setter Pullover is available in Strategic Sales locations in the US currently. This is Static Flush running luon and it also comes in Static Black. These images where taken from an ebay listing posted today (I’m unfamiliar with this seller).

I’m not in need of another pullover so I’m passing on this one but I do really like the amount of reflective stripping in the back. I usually find most lulu items don’t have enough reflectivity for nighttime running which is why I’ve loved my Hustle Jacket so much. It has the perfect amount of visibility so that I can just put it on and not have to think about what I can add to myself to keep me safe. Sometimes when I wear just my pullovers I have to remember to add reflective snap bracelets or just use the pullovers for my daytime runs, so It’s really nice that they’ve thought of adding this feature on this pullover. Reflectivity is pretty utilitarian but it’s not something you can sacrifice if your running at night.

New!! Solace Jacket

by Cristina February 11, 2011
written by Cristina

Well this looks promising to me. It’s got the element of the Savasana Wrap that I most like which is the buttoned cowl neck (sort of a cowl neck) and it’s much shorter so that removes the fit issues I have with the Savasana.  It seems to have some ruching on the sides and on the arms and the length of this jacket seems like a short crop since you can see her Cool Racerback hanging out at the bottom. This jacket in a heathered brown color would be very tempting for me. So far, it has piqued my interest.

*$108 and goes up to a size 12. No word yet on colors available but as soon as I know I’ll update you.

New Reverse Groove Short Band

by Cristina February 11, 2011
written by Cristina

This is an interesting new Reverse Groove Short Print. It looks like it may be reflective. I see the phrase ‘Choose a positive..” and then upside down is ‘visited  listen thought’. I assume this is from the Manifesto but it’s a little bit scrambled. The images also look like hyroglyphs with a few non hyroglyph yogis thrown in. What do you make of this print?
