Mens SeaWheeze Shorts

by Cristina May 24, 2012
written by Cristina

Thanks to Eric of Lulumen we have a picture of the men’s shorts for the SeaWheeze registration now starting to arrive. I’m not sure I love them for men but I’m kind of wishing this was the design for the women’s shorts. The longer length I need for running with a color and print that I love. If they could make this in a feminized version I’d totally wear these (and I’m aware I’m probably alone here).

Porcelaine Blue Dance Studio Crops

by Cristina May 23, 2012
written by Cristina

So sorry for my lack of posting today but I’ve been on the road traveling with my family all day on our way to Portland. A road trip that was supposed to take 6 hours, with a four and a two year old has taken 10 hours!  I did get a chance to stop in at the University Village Lululemon today on our way here and saw that the Dune Dance Studio Crops and Porcelaine Dance Studio Crops have finally made it to the store (they were uploaded a few weeks ago and never got delivered to stores) and a few other restock items from previous upload (Manifesto LS’s in Menthol and Porcelain, In Strides). Thanks to the lovely ladies at the U-Village I was finally able to exchange my Dune DSC’s which were coming unravelled at the waist for a new pair so I’m really happy about that. I love my Dune Dance Studio Crops and didn’t want to part with them. I’m really looking forward to checking out the Pearl District Lululemon tomorrow since I’ve never been before. I’m sure I’ll have a pretty good store report for you tomorrow if I can actually try stuff on. I’m also really wanting to check out Powells Books.

Upload!

by Cristina May 22, 2012
written by Cristina

After a few hours of the website being down and quite glitchy we can now access the site fully again and see the upload which is quite small with mostly just a few items restocked. I think this is the smallest upload I’ve seen and I’m now wishing I’d gone to bed earlier. Oh well, happy Victoria Day long weekend. Hopefully next week, since it’ll be the last Monday upload of the month will have a more decent selection.

The SeaWheeze Speed Shorts Are Starting To Arrive

by Cristina May 21, 2012
written by Cristina

If you registered for the SeaWheeze prior to May 1st you will be getting these very cute 4-way stretch speed shorts in the mail sometime between now and June 11. If your bummed you’re not getting these don’t worry too much. I don’t wear speed shorts so unless the design has changed mine will probably be going up for auction on ebay despite the fact that I think they are adorable, I’m sure there will be a few others that will also sell theirs.

Zippy Run Tank

by Cristina May 21, 2012
written by Cristina

The Zippy Run Tank was uploaded two uploads ago but has not arrived in North American stores yet so we haven’t seen any pictures of this tank until now. Australian stores have just received this tank which is why we are now getting some real educator pictures. The reviews on this tank are really poor and I suspect that is why they haven’t been sent to stores. Most of the complaints concern the really large arm holes with a very narrow front which shows side boob, and since it’s a shelf bra you’d have to double up bras in order to keep covered up and keep your boobs from falling out of the sides. There are also no slots for cups in this which is insane, especially on a luxtreme light colored tank.  (there are slots in accessed from the bottom and not the sides) I’m really just scratching my head at this design and wondering how it made it all the way to production without having someone try it on first to tweak a design that had such potential. It seems like they uploaded an unfinished prototype tank. Check out the reviews for more pictures of this tank on customers that have purchased it.

OOTD: Weeks Worth of Crossfit and Running & Eat Clean Diet

by Cristina May 19, 2012
written by Cristina

I haven’t done today’s run yet so haven’t included that outfit, I’ll post it next week. This week has been pretty heavy on crossfit and light on running for some reason. I’ve just really been enjoying my classes and not much in the mood for running so I’ve focused on that.

I’ve also started the Tosca Reno Eat Clean Diet because I feel like my metabolism is the problem more than what I’m eating. I’m not a breakfast eater and truthfully I can easily go till 2pm without feeling hungry at all although I do force myself to get a little  something in besides coffee. And despite reducing calories and working out a lot I haven’t lost much weight at all.  This diet is forcing me to actually eat frequent small meals that are a combination of protein and carbs and I’m hoping it will boost my metabolism. I’m pleased that after two weeks of eating what feels like a ton of food I haven’t gained weight. I was so afraid with this diet that I’d just pack on the pounds but it’s really not so. I feel pretty full most of the time and when the 2.5 hour mark comes along, like clockwork I start to feel hungry for my next mini meal which is odd considering I used to go hours and hours before actually feeling hungry. I’ve lost one pound and that does disappoint me that it’s not more but I’ve also been seeing gains in crossfit so I think I have trimmed down and built some muscles. I also think my spare tire has reduced a bit. My clean and jerks went up to 73lbs from around 53lbs so thats pretty cool. Also, we did a ton of 10lb wall balls on Thursday (around 70 I think?) and it didn’t feel as horrible as it would have in the past. I was able to get thru that workout pretty smoothly so I think my energy is up. Well see. Were going on vacation in the very near future and I’m a bit worried about maintaining this diet while away. I’ll pack some oatmeal and protein to take with me for breakfast and some nuts and dried fruit to snack on but its going to be hard to eat every 3 hours. I will however eat as clean as humanly possible while on vacation. Oh, the things I haven’t been doing very well at on this diet is the 2-3 litres of water requirement, I think I’m getting in about 1.5 litres and also I still use stevia in my coffee. I really want to remove all artificial sweeteners but I’m not quite there yet. I don’t eat a lot of sugar but I do like my artificial sweeteners. Maybe thats what would make the pounds melt off. I think I’m just annoyed at reading all these testimonials of people seeing their weight just melt off week after week while I only lost 1lb which may or may not be a legitimately lost pound. Are any of you doing this diet and seeing the pounds come down slowly, very slowly? I’d rather read about slow and steady success, I think that will encourage me more to stick with this.

Outfits are in no particular order:

Crossfit: Heathered Menthol CRB (LOVE!) and Deep Indigo Ebb & Flow Crops
Crossfit: Concord No Limit Tank, Black Ebb & Flow Crops
Run: CRB Heathered Pigeon Pearl Luxtreme, Run: Chase Me Crops Deep Indigo
Wee Are From Space
Crossfit: CRB Jacquard Mesh Rose Quartz, Black Ebb & Flow Crops

Oooh! Ouch! Lainey Gossip On Lululemon Quality Issues

by Cristina May 17, 2012
written by Cristina

I’ve been a huge fan of Lainey Gossip (Elaine Lui) since her blog started which I think was back in 2004. For those of you unfamiliar with her, she is a gossip blogger from Vancouver. Although I consider her more high brow gossip blogger and probably more of a hollywood armchair sociologist rather than a down and dirty gossip blogger. Anyways, she’s currently also a corespondent for Etalk Canada and so she’s a full time career blogger at this point and quite well known locally and abroad and her opinion is well respected. A couple of days ago she wrote a post in her lifestyles section mentioning (without saying names) her disappointment in the quality of Lululemon clothing as of late. We all know she was talking about Lululemon. She has talked about her love of lululemon in the past and as a typical Vancouverite she is often pictured wearing lululemon clothing. She wears pretty high end fashion most of the time but this girl is not above wearing her yoga pants. She’s definitely not part of  the Anti Yoga Pant Revolution.

And my point is, I can write about the quality issues all day long until I’m blue in the face, but Lululemon,  when Lainey Gossip is writing about what everyone else is saying about your brand you better take note.

Lainey Gossip mentions Lululemon Quality Issues:

“Without naming names, I’ve been having a quality problem with a certain brand of active-wear. The clothes are stylish but they fall apart. They never used to, but they do now. At that price, the falling apart is not acceptable. Especially not after such a short time.  So I broke up with them.” Read rest here

The Latest + A Mini Fit Review

by Cristina May 17, 2012
written by Cristina

I tried on three tanks today that I’ve been meaning to try on for a little while. The Namaste Tank was a bust on me in the bust (ha!). The bra portion was just too narrow for my bust and so it was cutting off at the bottom a little too high, and if pulled it down lower it was way too low of a scoop on me. The straps were also pulling at the back of my neck. What I did like though was how roomy the body was. I also just wasn’t a fan of how the print transitioned to the bust in such a hard line. I do like this tank in black but because of the fit it’s definitely a pass. The other one I tried on which I liked was the Menthol Run: Tame Me Tank. The color is just gorgeous with the Wee Striped Menthol bust and Solid Menthol body. This one is wish listed for another day though and hopefully on markdown. The third tank I tried on was the Porcelaine Blue Chaturanga Tank and I loved this one most of all. A bit surprising since I’ve heard reviews that the bust runs tight and has a bit of an odd fit but I didn’t find that the case on me. I loved how supportive the bust felt and I’m really partial to the Jacquard Mesh material which feels really cool and breathable. I’m definitely considering getting this one for Crossfit.

I didn’t get to see this new Heathered Dune In Stride Jacket Today

Saw this Define, the Flash/Dune Wee Stripe and it’s very striking in person. There were no CRB’s in this pattern which I may have been tempted to get.

I’m really loving these Reverse Groove Crops in White Denim. I’d like to try these on when I see them in store next.

New Lululemon Australian Website Launched

by Cristina May 17, 2012
written by Cristina

Australian and New Zealand shoppers now have their very own Lululemon website to shop from complete with Australian prices (which is sucky) and with free shipping which I believe used to be $30 for international orders. I think despite the higher Australian prices this is a good thing for inventory (silver lining?). Australians now have access to items that are long since sold out on the US site with a smaller chance that items will be sold out overnight for them.

What do you Australian and New Zealand readers think about this change? So far on the various facebook lululemon forums it’s a pretty unanimous consensus that this change sucks.

I love this Flash/Dune Wee Stripe Define Jacket.

I really like the solid Flash contrasted on the Flash/Dune Wee Stripe

Porcelaine In Stride Jacket

Love the Heathered Dune In Stride Jacket. So simple and elegant.

 Blush Quartz No Limit Tank

Flash/Dune Wee Stripe CRB. I’m slightly sad that I didn’t get this one.

Porcelaine Blue Wunder Under Crops.

Reverse Groove Short *Tall. I’m going to check these out in store next time. If they reverse to all black they may be handy for Crossfit. I like that they come in tall length.
