Store Report: Run: Play In The Sun Shorts in Dune and Concord and Run: In The Sun Shorts
I stopped in at the store today for my typical post upload store visit since lately most items are uploaded to the website before they hit store wide. Thats really kind of a bummer since we don’t get to see a bunch of pictures up online ahead of the upload in order to see how items fit and so I find I order more online to ‘give it a chance’ but then I also end up returning more items to stores then I used to. Ah well. In this case I opted out of the Play In The Sun shorts when they were uploaded but when I tried them on in store I fell in love. The Dune version are much less see thru than the white (I’ll have to get the husbands opinion on that later) and they were really cute with the stronger contrasted buttons. These shorts are definitely made to flatter…shall we call it ‘deadlift butt’. They flatter a more ample bottom with the pocket design however I’ve seen pictures where the pocket design and placement looks really bad on more slender figures.
Anyways, I really liked the Dune. It’s a safe ‘white’ that will go with a ton of items I already have and it’s pretty much as neutral as black/grey/white. The Concord I was very surprised to love. I knew I loved the idea of them in Concord but I figured they were too ‘showy’ and colorful but when I put them on I realized that it’s actually much easier to pull off this color in shorts than it is in pants for me. I was wearing the Blush Quartz Jacquard Mesh CRB and the combo looked adorable together. I found the Concord shorts fit snugger than the other colors but not enough that I wanted to size up. Also snugger than the Dance Studio Crops. I stayed TTS in these as I’m sure most of you will.
I also tried on the Run: In The Sun Shorts and they have so much great potential for those of us that cannot wear most of the Lululemon run shorts designed for smaller thighs. The legs were definitely roomy enough for my large quads but the rise was just a touch too short and so the darn pleats (which I hate!) sat open and it just looked weird. If the rise was just a touch longer then those pleats wouldn’t be hanging out at the widest part of my hips and they could be safely hidden underneath a longer top. I’ll likely try them again at some point but I because of the pleat I just couldn’t love them even though they were perfectly functionable for running.
The Daily Tank on the left is Flash Dune Wee Stripe Daily, and on the right is the Porcelaine Beachy Floral Cool Racerback Tank. These were spotted in Los Angeles. I really want a tank in this print (Porcelaine Beachy Floral) but I almost lean towards wanting it in the Vitasea Every Yogi Tank instead of a CRB.
Porcelaine Beachy Floral is 94% Polyester, 6% Lycra Spandex.
The Latest: Run In The Sun Pullover, Short Sleeve and Long Sleeve and May Wee Are From Space Excel Crops
Run: Excel Crops in Wee Are From Space Deep Coal May Multi
I’m not liking the look of this pullover but I am however loving how Porcelaine looks in this fabric with the soft heathering. I’d love to see a plain tee shirt in this material and color with the cut of the Every Yogi Tee.
Run: In The Sun Long Sleeve with Run Excel Crops
Really not a fan of the doily ruffles on the bottom hem. You know what would have been nice? A cuffed hemline.
I ordered the Dune Dance Studio Crops but I’m eying them in Porcelaine as well. I just know I’d probably not wear bright blue pants like these. Also tempted by the Play In The Sun Shorts in both Dune and Concord but I’m going to make due with the Coal pair I have which will go with everything. Interesting to see the Iconic Wrap make a comeback, although its gone up $10. I had one last year and ended up selling it because the bulky fabric in the front always required adjusting.
What did you guys order?
The Latest: Run Chase Me Tank, Run Silver Bullet SL, Run In The Sun Shorts and Run In The Sun Skirt
Run: Chase Me Tank and Polocross Crops
Run: Wild SS and Run: In The Sun Skirt
Despite the horrible pleats in the front I’m intrigued that these are athletic fit shorts. If I can wear them to both Crossfit and for running in then I think I can live with the pleats.
A new Lightweight UPF Jersey pullover called Run In The Sun Pullover, for summer running. I’ve never run in a UPF long sleeve and am curious for those of you that have last years version, do you find it too warm to wear? I can’t get my head around wearing anything long sleeved on a summer run even if it’s meant as sun protection.
The Chaturanga Tank is back in Porcelaine Blue. Look, Porcelaine Blue Jacquard Mesh on the bottom. Do you think it’s possible there may be a CRB in Porcelaine Jacquard Mesh? I really hope so, those are my favorite CRB’s.
Product Alerts For: Run: In The Sun Shorts, Run: In The Sun Skirt, Daily Tank
In this color these shorts look so 70’s to me.
When I got the Heathered Menthol CRB online a few weeks ago I liked the color but wasn’t sure I’d love it. Now I realize what an awesome color it is and after washing it a few times it’s become even softer. The same as my rose petal CRB actually.
Run: Tame Me Tanks are in stores today in Porcelaine, Menthol and I think Blush Quartz. Worn here with the Run: In The Sun Shorts. I like the length on these shorts.
The name of this short sleeve escapes me. Is it the Run A Marathon SS or Run Silver Bullet SS?
Run: In The Sun Dress, $98 and made of Swift
What are these Porcelaine shorts on the left? They kind of look 70’s retro.
Run: In The Sun Skirt with Blush Quartz Swiftly SL
Run: In The Sun Dress
Run: From Work Backpack. I feel like I need to get this for the future when I want to run to work. I wish I’d optimized my time that way before I had kids. It’s such a useful running item that I feel like I should just get it for when I do need it…two years from now ;-/ Or maybe it would even be useful this summer for trips to the park with the kids.
Run: Silver Bullet Tank with Run: In The Sun Skirt. Does this skirt look a touch longer to any of you? I’m intrigued that it’s a bit fuller and longer.
