Two interesting new articles from Chip Wilson from today, and from June 1. The normally media shy Chip Wilson has hired on a PR advisor and has been making some interesting media statements as of late, namely, waging war with the Lululemon board of directors and cleaning up his public persona via big plans for the city of Vancouver (!!! ask me another time how I feel about this, especially about landmark for the DTES). I can’t help but think this is very interesting strategy that at face value seems like Chip is swooping in to save Lululemon. As I wrote earlier last week, Shannon Wilson is launching a new brand called Kit & Ace in the fall who’s focus is a niche luxury athletic market, technical cashmere.
Chip Wilson has been in talks with Goldman Sachs in regards to exploring a buyout of his shares or selling his holdings. I am very interested to see how this all plays out.
