New Items! Run: For Your Life Skirt, Newest Modern Racers, Run For Your Life Pullover

A new run skirt has made an appearance in US stores today called the Run: For Your Life Skirt. I just got my first run skirt today – the Run: Speed Skirt, and I love it so far so I’m excited about this one. I used to think the whole fad of running skirts was just a silly fashion statement and all about looking cute but I so get it now. You get so much more coverage then you do with shorts or luxtreme and the same airyness you get with shorts. I love that I can now run and not show all my neighbours my serious butt jiggle. My only concern now is with chub rub so I got myself a stick of Body Glyde and hopefully that is enough to keep me comfortable. The only thing that would make the speed skirt that much better is if it had a touch more length in the skirt and the inner shorts.

Run: For Your Life Skirt

Run: For Your Life Pullover Magnum

I am crazy about this pullover. I’m more partial to running luon pullovers but I love the neckline on this one and the colors it comes in. I’ll have a hard time choosing between Magnum and Royalty

 Modern Racer Tank Heathered Ghost

I really like Heathered Ghost as a white. It’s a very warm, soft white and a great neutral to have. I’m not sure I can justify one single more MRT but I’d love a heathered ghost CRB or run tank.

Is this one heathered magnum? My favourite grey of all time. I think I love it so much because it’s a mauvey grey.

Upload Thursday

by Cristina August 4, 2011

Big upload today with a few items a lot of you have been patiently waiting for (Royalty Method Wrap and Modern Racer). I’m feeling tempted by the Silver Bullet LS in Raspberry and the Short Sleeve Silver Bullet but I think I’m going to be strong today and hold out for the cooler weather long sleeves. Hmmm, and how bout those Camel Cargo Pants.

What did you buy today?

**Run Speed Skirt Ghost Snowy Owl Dip Dye Magnum**

I surprised myself and decided to order this skirt today since it was available in Tall length. I only ever wear luxtreme bottoms for running and it’s just been too hot so I was browsing the shorts and decided this may be more flattering for athletic quads then any of the shorts currently offered.

Product Alerts: Upload Thursday Eve Refresher

by Cristina August 3, 2011

I’m so sorry I’ve been a very bad blogger lately but during the summer, with the poor weather we’ve been having, it’s hard not to take advantage of every sunny day we get. It’s sauna like 16*c today (note the sarcasm) and so I’m sitting out on the deck trying not to shiver under the one patch of cloudless sky. And I’m also really sorry if I’ve missed responding to your email. I try to keep on top of responding to everyone (I do read everything that comes in) but the volume is pretty big and for some reason my iPhone 4 can’t seem to batch delete emails (something about pop-live servers) so my inbox is an exponentially growing disorganized mess that torments me. Anywhoo, lots of goodies this week. I would have liked to have added both the Triumph Tote and the Destiny Duffel in this lineup but all of the product alerts are dead links for these items. So silly!

Rocksteady Silver Bullet SS

Run Silver Bullet Tech LS

I really love the Silver Bullet LS in Raspberry but it’s just too form fitting for me and too cool for cooler weather running so I passed in favour of the tank version. I may give way to temptation tomorrow and just order it anyways. Just to be in with the cool kids.

Run Silver Bullet Sleeveless Tech Magnum, Royal, Dewberry and Black (or heathered black?)

I got this one in Magnum and I really, really love the color. It’s not a boring old grey but a very warm, mauvy grey. The Magnum and Royal are the ones with the reflective design on the front and the other ones have no design. There are a few details about the design that may make this a pass for some of you, namely the deep neckline and the big armholes, but I don’t mind that since I pair it with my energy bra. While the top portion of this tank is quite relaxed fitting, sizing down was not possible for me because it would have been too snug around my hips and would have caused the top of the tank to bag out funny. It doesn’t have the cinch cord on the bottom and baggier fit like the Run Energy or I Just Wanna Run Tank but I was in the market for a tank this style and I’m quite happy with it. The reflective detailing makes this such an ingenious running tank.

Run Dash Tank

Riding Jacket

Some love this jacket, some hate it. Such is the way with most fashion forward items. I personally can’t see myself wearing it but I do like it on others. This is a snugger fitting jacket and I’ve seen a few images where it was too snug across the back so definitely consider trying on the next size up to compare the fit.

Warrior 1 Hot Tank

The Om Scarf

Massively large scarf. I’m not too interested in the scarf trend but I suspect this will be a sell out fast and markup on ebay item judging by the popularity of past scarves (Vinyasa, Manifesto) I haven’t heard what the lulu pricing on this but I do know that lulu decided to take the opportunity to mark up the second run of Vinyasa scarves based on the first runs popularity and upselling prices on ebay. Great market research I guess.

Scuba Hoodie Ghost

I am a bit in love with the Royalty Wee Stripe (or is it Rocksteady?) Scuba Hoodie pictured bellow. I’m feeling very tempted by it even though I will not buy the newly priced scubas and I also don’t wear scuba’s a whole lot so I don’t need more then what I have.

Solid Royalty

Men’s Domain Hoodie

I was talking with one of my store educators the other day and she was telling me how the Pacific Beach Hoodie was replaced with this Domain Hoodie. Lulu has heard the feedback on the men’s line about how ill fitting the items are for more athletic sized men (ironic?) so the newest items are supposed to accommodate broader shoulders and chests. I will definitely reconsider a hoodie for my husband this year. He doesn’t wear lulu because the fit was all wrong for him (and also because there is a stigma locally for men wearing lulu) so he’s given me the go ahead to buy him some things. He has stated though that he will not go into the store himself to try things on of his volition but if I happen to buy him something and it fits he will wear it. Dork!

Run Speed Skirt Ghost Snowy Owl

The bird/feather, nature theme is really big this Fall across all brands. I really like this Ghost Snowy Owl print a lot but haven’t found the right item for me yet. Maybe a Cabin LS would be nice in this or a scarf.

Wunder Under Crop

Forgive me, but I am so not a fan of these wonder under crops with this print. It’s the sheen of the polyester combined with the print that draws your eyes down and hugs curves which make me feel that this is not a flattering print execution for most people.

Power Y Black Space Dye

Really pretty print! If I didn’t have Coal Strata Stripe CRB then I would be tempted by this in a CRB.

New! Om Scarf Burn Out Print

by Cristina August 2, 2011
written by Cristina

I’m not much of a scarf wearer personally (unless it’s winter and my neck is cold) but I was tempted by last years manifesto scarves and by the Vinyasa scarf hype a few months ago. These ones are really pretty with the ‘message in a bottle’ burn out manifesto and they come in Dewberry, Surge and White. If the price is reasonable I may just bring home the Dewberry one to try out.

Happy British Columbia Day! Kelowna has put out some gorgeous photos of the latest items.

Silver Bullet LS and Royalty Speed Shorts

 Silver Bullet LS

You can really see the fabric details in these pictures.

Super flattering shoulder ruched detailing and neckline.

This pocket actually fits my iPhone but it’s too heavy for this fabric

 Silver Bullet Tank

This is all I want to wear on my runs now. I may consider getting a second in a different color run.

Built In iPod Pockets

by Cristina July 31, 2011
written by Cristina

One of the features of Lululemon run tanks that I like the best are the tanks with built in iPod pockets. Sadly I’ve never been able to use this feature because they were small and designed for Shuffles or other small MP3’s and all three of the ipods I’ve had have been big. First generation mini ipod was pretty big and then I got an iTouch followed by my iPhone so these pockets always sat unused. I’m excited to see two new items that came out this week with big iPhone sized MP3 pockets.  Now I’m wondering how come my new Run: Silver Bullet Tank doesn’t have one of these handy iPhone pockets. Oops, looks like it does. I’m looking forward to seeing if the fall and winter run pullovers have these pockets, especially the Run For Your Life Pullover that is currently on my wish list.

Fit Review ~ Run Silver Bullet Tank (And A Riding Jacket Mention)

by Cristina July 30, 2011
written by Cristina

**Forgot to mention that another product drop is due for tomorrow**

Well I did manage to get to the store tonight for a very speedy shopping trip and still managed to squeeze in my 3 mile run before having dinner and putting the kids to bed. Ta-da!

I got the Run Silver Bullet Tank today and also tried on the Silver Bullet LS in the gorgeous Raspberry. I fully expected to leave with the long sleeve but a couple of things deterred me. One, the top is form fitting and the material is thinner then silverscent swiftly so even in the size 10 I wasn’t totally comfortable with how my lumps and bumps looked. That wasn’t soo terrible and I would have probably purchased it despite that but I also felt $78 was more then I wanted to spend on an in between season layer. I was a bit confused this afternoon with the description of ‘silverscent knit‘ and I expected it to be more like the mens version of the swiftly’s with that thick cottony feeling silverscent material. Instead it’s actually very similar to the Run Energy and the I Just Wanna Run Tank which is more of a silverscent jersey. It drapes beautifully and is really wonderful for hot August runs but a thin cool long sleeve layer doesn’t make sense for me since it’s a lot cooler then the Swiftly LS’s. I may in the end change my mind because it was a really pretty top, I’m just not convinced I need it for $78.

 Run Silver Bullet Tank

The tank comes in Magnum and Royal with the reflective feather print design on it and Dewberry and I think Black or maybe it was Coal without the feather print design on it. I got it in Magnum after initially choosing the Royal and I’m glad I went with Magnum. It’s got a mauvy lavender undertone to it and it’s really a pretty color. So glad Mariah, my friendly local educator convinced me to get the Magnum.

51% Nylon,  37% Polyester,  8%Spandex,  4% Nylon X-Static D Argent

This is me pre run. It was a hot 23* (73*f) today and I was wearing my Energy Bra and Mind Over Matter Crops. I got this in a size 10 (I’m between a 8/10) and although it’s plenty roomy up top I think the 8 would have been too snug around my hips. I think the sleeve opening on this tank is a little big so if you have issues with underarm chafing you may not like that. It showed about an inch of my energy bra in the underarm and at the neckline so that sort of gives you an idea of how big the armholes are. The fit is loose and not clingy but it also doesn’t have that drop waisted look that the Energy SL has with the cinch cord to customize the fit. The pattern on the front is indeed reflective but it’s quite a subtle reflectivity and not as obvious as the old lulu logo.

Post 3 mile run, pretty sweaty although you can’t really tell that here. I am a big sweater and my face was beat red so I was pleased to see that the top was dry and had no sweat marks on it. The top didn’t cling to me while I ran and I felt the breeze move thru it (I was running that fast!) so I would definitely call this a breathable top.

Here is a closeup of the top in the bathroom mirror. I pressed the shirt against my skin to see if the sweat would show and where I have the arrow is the only place it really picked up enough sweat to look damp. I think it will show sweat if your sweating profusely and have a snugger fit but since it’s so loose fitting the sweat evaporates before it even sets into the top which means you are efficiently keeping cool. It was a really comfortable top to run in and if you liked the previous Run Energy SL or the I Just Wanna Run Tank then you will probably love this one.

I briefly looked at the Riding Jacket and it’s actually pretty nice in person if your going for the equestrian look. It looks just like a riding jacket in person and like you should be carrying one of those horse whips. Imagine wearing this with your Wunder Under Crops and riding boots over to yoga class in the fall. Very preppy! The ruffle in the back has an under layer of mesh and a big iPhone pocket which is a nice touch. I was told by  the educator that these are form fitting so some people may size up in this as they may find it small.
