Details on the Latest Run Speed Skirt

by Cristina August 23, 2011
written by Cristina

I went in to Lulu today with the hopes of purchasing the latest Run Speed Skirt in this Coal Shale Stripe but I was disappointed to learn that although it is available in a Tall length (my store didn’t have it in) it’s a 2 way stretch and not a 4 way stretch like my other speed skirt. I prefer the 4 way stretch because the 2 way causes creasing in the front of the thighs since it’s a touch snugger and it tends to ride up on me quite a bit. Oh well, sad for me but I did learn that there will be another short coming out soon with a higher rise and wider leg opening so hopefully I’ll like that for CrossFit (the speed skirt I wanted for running, not CrossFit). I’ve been told by my lovely readers yesterday that my luxtreme running bottoms will be a no go for CrossFit which was good to know because I almost did wear my MOM crops last night. I do have some Still shorts I can wear but I found my Still Pants slipped down a lot yesterday while I was doing my sprinting so I’d love to find a pair of modest shorts I can wear. Maybe the Groove Crops.  That, and I’ll be sticking to CRB tanks since they are pretty low fuss. I’ll be sure to post about my CrossFit info session shortly and keep you all updated on how I like it.

Product Alerts

by Cristina August 23, 2011

Lululemon product alerts are starting to appear in my inbox along with the store photos of this weeks items. I’m really excited by the Shale Speed Skirt and the Raspberry Scuba (although I will not be buying at the increased prices. They have far surpassed what I’m willing to spend on a hoodie) and the appearance of the seasons first running luon. I may not get the Run Full Tilt SS but I’m sure Run Full Tilt Pullover and LS are just around the corner and I’ll likely get one of those.

Monday Product Drop (Updating Post)

by Cristina August 22, 2011
written by Cristina

Some new goodies to hit the stores today and a few items to make the cut for my wish list. The boys will be happy to see they finally get some love in the rain coat department with the Wet Coast Jacket.

This Run Speed Skirt will be #1 on my wish list for Thursday if this color/print combo comes out in tall length.

A new pretty tank. This wont be on my wish list but I do really want to try it on. I’ll be starting Crossfit in late September so in addition to run gear I’ll be searching for perfect Crossfit Tanks.

oooh a Heathered Raspberry Scuba. So pretty (not loving the logo though). I got the Lively Crewneck Tee in Heathered Raspberry last week only because I love the color but I am extremely dissapointed to report that after two uses it’s pilled quite badly. I know heathered colors tend to be fuzzier but my new tee is in really rough shape. I also don’t love how much warmer it is then all my other pima tees are and I suspect it’s due to the increase in polyester. Kicking myself big time over that purchase.

It’s running luon!!! Do I need it? Does Running Luon make sense in a short sleeve top? I’m on the fence with this one. On one hand I love that it’s running luon but on the other I think if I want short sleeves I want a cooler tee. Also, not sure I love the Minnie Mouse sleeves.

For the mens running line

Magnum is such a gorgeous color, I think I may want this one for Crossfit.

New Running Top! Run: Full Tilt SS

by Cristina August 22, 2011

A new running short sleeve has appeared (looks similar to Run Silver Bullet SS) in some product alerts. I’m thinking this is the same knitted silverescent material as the Silver Bullet line but since its so similar to the Run Silver Bullet perhaps its something different like running luon.

Spotted: Scarlett Johanson in Lululemon

by Cristina August 21, 2011
written by Cristina

Looky Looky! The gorgeous Scarlet Johanson was spotted wearing Lululemon recently. I think this is the most exciting Lululemon Celebrity spotting for me since I’ve always had a girl crush on Scarlett. She is the only celebrity female that I’ve really thought ‘wow, I wish I looked like her‘ (not just because of Ryan Reynolds…but I do have a crush on him too) ..(not true..I’ve thought the same about Christina Hendricks from Mad Men).  Scarlett is wearing  the latest lululemon swift pant, The Yoga Camp Pants in Wren. Possibly also the Lively Crewneck Tee but I think the sleeves are too long and I don’t recognize the color.

Upload Thursday Eve Refresher

by Cristina August 18, 2011
written by Cristina

Well once again I’m going to have to miss tomorrow mornings upload since we’ll be on our way to Seattle for a nice little weekend trip. Now that we’ve had surprise items uploaded for the past 5 weeks I’ve come to expect that there will be something special tomorrow that we haven’t seen yet that I’m sadly going to miss. Hopefully its not something I will kick myself for not being able to order.

My biggest temptation this week was the Heathered Rocksteady (or is it Royal?) Sing Floss Travel Jacket. I didn’t even let myself try it on because I don’t *want* to love it on me. I tried on the Get Down Vest and it’s just not a good style for me. I’m between an 8/10 (my HuffnPuff Vest is a size 10 and very roomy) and this vest was on the snugger side in the 10. Seeing as this is something you would layer over a hoodie I would have sized up to a 12. The style was just too busy for me and I really didn’t love how it looked on. I had the original version of the Audrey Jacket from last year so I’m not in the market for this years version, however I do love that there are now tweed versions. It’s a really lovely jacket and for mild wintered locations (Vancouver, Seattle, Portland etc) that see a lot of rain this jacket will take you from Fall and Winter to Spring. Another item I’d love to get would be a 3rd (yes 3rd!) Run Speed Skirt in the Tall length in the shale print. I’d like to get it in the Coal Shale Print like the speed shorts that are also out this week but only if it comes in a tall. I really like the added length of the tall version but also I need the higher rise.

What are you hoping to order tomorrow?

Get Down Vest $168

Audrey Jacket $228

Scuba Hoodie

Cabin Long Sleeve

Run Speed Skirt

Sing Floss Travel Jacket Heathered Lavender Grey

Heathered Rocksteady

Get Fit Tank

City Beat Pant

New! Spin Me Tank

by Cristina August 18, 2011
written by Cristina

This is a promising new tank in a color that I love, Rocksteady with Heathered Rocksteady. I can’t wait to see what the September color palette is and am hoping for a lot more Rocksteady and Raspberry. Maybe some deeper Lolo like purples. Can you believe September is only 2 weeks away? Ba-bye summer we never really saw.

New! Audrey Jacket and Get Down Vest

I’ve heard rumours that the Get Down Vest is reversible and that the new Audrey Jacket is coming in tweed! Mmmmm sooo very tempted by these two but so not justifiable for my budget.

OT: Most Excellent Costco Find..Merino Wool Running Top!

by Cristina August 15, 2011
written by Cristina

Today was shopping day at Costco and I had a look at the athletic apparel since I’ve been on the lookout for the Tuffs Athletic Cool Racerback Tanks (none found at the Still Creek Costco) and I spotted these 100% Merino Wool long sleeve tops made by a company called SEG’MENTS and as it turns out they are owned by the same company that owns Tuffs Athletics,   Cascadia Fashions.

I’m really sensitive to wool and when Lululemon came out with their version of a wool running pullover, the Run Balance Pullover I really wanted to love it since it came in a color I loved but it had a thicker scratchier texture then the Icebreaker brand running tops which are the top of the line brand for wool sports apparel and I just couldn’t bite the bullet on it. As I saw others wear the Run Balance Pullover throughout the winter I noticed it wasn’t handling wash and wear very well for it’s price point. I’ve really been wanting to try wool tops for running since trying wool socks and falling in love with them. They have the best wicking and temperature moderation and they’ve taken me from winter to summer.

This top at Costco felt very nice to the touch and very thin and the best part of all was it’s priced at $15.99!! And made in Canada! It wasn’t being marketed as a running top but I will certainly wear it for running once it gets to long sleeve swiftly weather. For $15.99, if the shirt looks worn out after a few washes but continues to perform then I’ll be quite a happy shopper indeed. It came in a few colors for the V-Neck (Royal, Dewberry/Raspberry, a kelly green, beige, black, and this Crewneck version which came in most of the colors with the addition of Light Classic Sports Grey. I would have liked a v-neck but couldn’t find one in my preferred colors and size. I got this in a large so that it’s roomy in the middle and more slouchy and I’m quite happy with the fit. It’s form following but not fitted and TTS so the large is slouchy enough for running. I can’t wait to try this out for a cold weather run!

Upload Thursday

by Cristina August 11, 2011
written by Cristina

Well I had to miss this mornings upload but I did see it from my iphone and decided to behave and not get the Lively Crewneck Tee in Raspberry that is really tempting me (even now it taunts me) or the Modern Racers in Ghost or Heathered Wren. We got a surprise upload of the Run Featherweight Hybrid Jacket but even more surprising is the price point of $108, especially in comparison to the Run Take Flight Jacket which is priced at $178. I think the main difference is that this hybrid jacket has a lot of luon paneling on it.

Did you get anything today? Did you order threw the lululemon mobile site?
