Upload Thursday Eve

by Cristina February 23, 2011
written by Cristina

This past week was a bit more exciting for me as far as colors. We saw the Wren Dance Studio Pants, Heathered Poison Ivy Wunder Under Crops (uploaded online and sold out quickly) and Calm and Cozy Sweaters. I’m not in need of anything for tomorrows upload unless we see the Sprinkler Hot Class Tank or the Pure Balance Tank. I’d like to try that out but not sure it would work for me. I easily passed on the Record Breaker Jacket for a few reasons but the top reason was that I just really like my Hustle Jackets better. I think I’m more excited about items that get uploaded that are not part of the current color palette. If I see anything else come out in Heathered Poison Ivy I’ll snatch that up for sure. It’s such a gorgeous shade of forresty green. Run Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve in Heathered Poison Ivy? yes please!! Or dare I dream about a Gratitude Wrap in that color…

What are you guys planning on getting tomorrow?

Wren Dance Studio Pants with Flow and Go Tank in Black. What a great outfit!

First image of Black Special Edition Scrunch Cool Racerback Tank.

Seeing this one in black earlier on would have clarified the Sheer Luon questions we all had about this tank.

Calm and Cozy Sweater + Heathered Poison Ivy = Love

by Cristina February 22, 2011
written by Cristina

I just tried both of these on with my freshly delivered Heathered Poison Ivy Wunder Under Crops *organic (sorry, camera is broke) and I’ve decided I’m keeping both on account that they both make the crops look amazing and vice versa. The Heathered Poison Ivy is a true forresty green with a touch of grey and I’ve never before had such color lust that I’ve felt the need to have multiple pairs in this color. This color needs to come in more items.

Dear Lululemon…

by Cristina February 22, 2011
written by Cristina

A request for you. Please, pretty please look into creating quality wool running socks. I purchased my first pair of wool running socks the other day at $18 (ouch, but well worth it) by SmartWool and took them out for an 8 mile run and loved, loved, loved them. I normally am very sensitive to wool but have discovered since purchasing the Lululemon Savasana Socks that my feet love the feel of wool for some reason.

Since the weather has been warming up and I’m going on longer and longer runs I’ve noticed my feet have been getting extremely itchy and hot after my runs so much so that I was up all night the other day with feet that felt like they were on fire. It’s not athletes foot but it’s some sort of rash that I used to get as a child and the featherweight socks seem to not be as agreeable to my feet these days. Anyways, enough grossness, that was my reason for splurging on wool socks in case you needed to know. The ones I got are pretty fugly compared to cute Lulu socks but I’m now convinced that wool socks are far superior. My feet remained cool without feeling clammy or sweaty and the cushioning felt really good. I’m a firm believer that if your asking your feet to run you 8 miles or more (or less of course) then their comfort should be a factor in your choice and you should baby your feet. Here is what SmartWool has to say about why wool is better than synthetics for running.

These ones that I got are no show socks and made of 73% Merino Wool, 25% Nylon and 2% Elastic and were priced at $18 although that seems to have been store markup price.

**this is not a sponsored post, I just really like these socks and wish lulu would make wool socks for running in and not just Savasana.

Store Report ~ Calm and Cozy Sweater, Run: Record Breaker Jacket and Special Edition Cool Racerback Tank

by Cristina February 22, 2011
written by Cristina

I just got back from Coquitlam Lulu and I brought home the Calm and Cozy Sweater for a visit in both Heathered Sand Dune and Heathered Concord Grape. I’ve gotten a few product notifications for the Calm and Cozy but when you click on the links the picture is not available so we only have this Concord Grape version to go on. The knit is the exact same weight as the Express Yourself/Live Healthy Wraps and not like the Chai Time Pullover that was slightly thinner and sheer. I find I always wear my Chai Time pullover with a tank underneath it where as this one wouldn’t want to. The fabric composition is 40% Rayon from Bamboo, 30% Tencel Lyocell, 15% Acrylic, 10% Nylon and 5% Cashmere. I purchased size 8 which is TTS but I had considered the 6 since the 8 looked so big on the hanger. When I went to try it on the 8 looked best and like the picture shown below where it’s a bit slouchy and drapey and longish. The size 6 fit well too but just didn’t have this look and the neck opening was a bit higher. The one thing I notice is the Chai Time Pullover is a bit more muffin top friendly then this sweater is just because of how the cuffed hem is on the Chai Time. Not a huge deal, just not something I want to wear on pms bloaty days with my jeans and a belt. Also, the sleeves are less snug in the lower arm then the Chai Time is so if you disliked the sleeves on the Chai Time then you will like this one much better. The price on this sweater is $88.

I tried on the Run Record Breaker Jacket in a size 8 and decided that if I were getting it I would have gone with the size 10. The 8 felt perfectly fine over top of my Chai Pullover that I was wearing today and I could move my arms around but it looked more fitted then it does in these pictures and I didn’t like the way that looked on me. You would especially want to size up if you have a larger bust. The price is $168.

I quickly glanced at this special edition Cool Racerback Tank and I didn’t care for it despite my love of Sheer Luon. The entire front of the tank is a normal Cool Racerback made of luon light, the back is sheer luon at the bottom where you see the pleating detail and at the racerback portion is all luon light. No circle mesh on this tank as was mistakenly indicated in a facebook album. I wish either the entire tank was made of Sheer Luon or the bottom all the way around to the front was Sheer Luon. It was a little too hodge podge for me. I saw it in all black or all flush like the one below but I forgot to check the price on it. I imagine it would be around $42 since it’s a special edition.

Special Edition Cool Racerback Tank

by Cristina February 22, 2011
written by Cristina

This Special Edition Cool Racerback Tank has Sheer Luon in the back as well as Circle Mesh Detailing in the logo area at the racerback portion. It looks like the front of the tank is all Luon Light but I’m not sure. I need to get to a store today to pick up some repairs so I will get the details on this tank for you. I’m not a big fan of the color ‘Flush’ but if you purchased the Wren Studio Pants this color as well as Alarm, Persimmon and Concord Grape would look very nice with them. Sadly I have none of those colors 🙁

Calm and Cozy Pullover

by Cristina February 22, 2011
written by Cristina

I am in big trouble with this sweater. I love my Chai Time Pullover and use it very often so this one is very tempting. The color shown is Heathered Concord Grape but it also comes in Black and Grey Heathered Sand Dune. It’s a Cashmere blend so I assume it’s the same as the Chai Time Pullover and the Express Yourself Wrap which is a 5% cashmere with Bamboo Rayon. I do find I need to baby my sweater by washing it gently and laying flat to dry, and the underarms require occasional grooming by picking off the little pills that form. Also, the knit can look a bit fuzzy at times but that goes away every time I wash it. If this gets uploaded on Thursday for a reasonable price I will be torn because I wont know what color to choose.

Store Report

Sadly I didn’t get much time today to brows at the Oakridge Lululemon after my errands in the neighborhood took 2 hours longer then expected. It was ok though because there was very little new in store today. I grabbed a pair of the Dance Studio Pants in Wren, took a quick peak around and then had to run. This is what I saw today..

Lively Crewneck Tee in Sprinkler/Tropic Stripe.

Flow and Go Tank in White, also coming in Black

Run: Faster Longer Shorts.

Not actually very long at all. At quick glance they appeared shorter then the Groovy Run Shorts but with wider leg openings. I’ll have to try them on when I have more time but I’m not holding out hope that these will work for me.
