I didn’t end up finding anything in store this week to get but there have been a couple of product alert items that have gotten me really excited. The Black Swan Plum Classic Stripe Scuba, Stride Jacket in Plum/Heathered Plum Mini Stripe, The Deep Camo Pique Headband. If any of those items get uploaded tomorrow I will likely jump, although I’d love to see real life photos of both the Stride and the Scuba to see if it’s a true plum or something really muddled looking since it has a similar toned stripe in it. 

I stopped in at lulu today and my trusted educator confirmed the Gratitude Wrap rumours and told me they’d likely be in stores this month, and that there are about 3 colors expected. She also let me know that there are fleece pullovers on the horizon, new brighty colored vinyasa scarves. Persian Purple is a new purple coming in the October clothing palette and it’s very similar to Power Purple in its vibrancy (its not PP though) and we will be seeing lots of plum. She hadn’t heard anything about a Black Swan themed Tutu (stranger things have happened though).  She also let me know that the mens line has a brand new design team with an eye to more masculine colors and designs so that is an exciting thing to keep an eye out for for early Christmas shopping. Hopefully this is true because I’d love to get my husband a few pieces for Christmas.

A new color popped up in one of my product alerts on this Amphipod Handheld Bottle called ‘Persian Purple’. When I first glanced at it I figured it was a special to this item color that we likely wont see in the clothing but then I noticed the hair tie on it and that suggests we will see this in the main color palette. Lulu usually comes out with hair ties in the newest color palette first before they release all of the colors. 

Persian Purple is so pretty, it reminds me a lot of Power Purple which is one of my top favourites. I almost hope its the same color renamed because Power Purple has a vibrancy that even the closest matched colors (Casis, Grapeseed) just didn’t have. Almost all of the retro lulu items that I look out for on the exchange page are power purple items.

Fresh for October a new product drop with the newest color palate of Black Swan, Heathered Tree Frog and Lilac (so far). I expected to see a lot more in store today than I did and sadly I came home empty handed. 

The Cabin Long Sleeve Tee’s have a new design where the second layer is not attached by a seam on either the bottom hem or at the sleeves. both pieces of fabric are also raw unfinished edges which will roll. You may love the new more ‘layered’ look but I was a bit disappointed in this. I really like the sleeve detail in the old cabins and I also liked the contrast stitching on them. Sadly I forgot to note the price on this ‘updated’ Cabin LS and that would have been pretty handy to know. 

 This Heathered Tree Frog Cool Racerback was actually quite pretty in person so I may consider it at a later date. 

 This Herringbone printed Stride Jacket has an interesting texture like the Light Grey Pique. Both of the newest Stride Jackets are brushed luon on the inside.

Word on the street (this just in group) is that the Gratitude Wraps are on store line plans due to come out in October. I’d initially heard the rumour from an educator back in the Spring that they were coming back but then they just never made an appearance. 

The Gratitude Wrap is kind of the oddest item of all lulu items but not because of it’s design. The oddness of the Gratitude Wrap is in it’s cult following and how much they are going for on the resale market. There are a couple of groups on facebook just dedicated (Gratitude Wrap Lovers, Bring Lululemon’s Gratitude Wrap PLEASE!!) to this wrap and they have sold on ebay for up to $400 for much coveted colors (Fox Brown, Stitch Blue, Heathered Mudd and Raspberry). The Gratitude  Wrap has been such a conduit for negativity in many discussions that the Lululemon Exchange Group has had to create a separate sales page where people can offer their wraps for sale for whatever price they like. The idea of the main exchange page being that no bidding wars are to be started.  The This Just In Group keeps a close eye on discussions that can quickly get out of hand and take a turn for the sour.  

I really hope that with the re release of the Gratitude Wrap that it tempers the feveverishness in which they are bought, sold and traded and even discussed. I doubt highly that the old colors will be re-released, and right now the rumour is that it is only black that will be released in October. As much as I love the Gratitude Wrap, I’ve sort of hated the effects it’s had on the groups and on people so I hope lululemon saturates the market with lots of color choices equally as pretty as the old variety. I suspect though that the old unicorns (or ‘my pretty Precious’ if your a LOTR Fan) will always be unicorns. I hope lululemon doesn’t choose to increase the prices greatly on these wraps based on the popularity. They initially sold for $125 and went quickly to markdown for $84 because so many colorways where released at one time. 

This product alert showing Heathered Deep Camo Cool Racerback Tank is from Australia but I believe some show rooms in the US are starting to receive items in this color. It’s so gorgeous, especially the contrast seam detail.
