Product Drop Tuesday: Find Your Centre Wrap, New Speed Shorts, Bumble Berry 105F Singlet, new Leg Warmers and More

I stopped in at my store today and they didn’t get much new in today either but I was told that because of the holiday, their Tuesday product drop was pushed to Wednesday. They did get the new Bumble Berry 105F Singlet today which I’m considering, but I think I’d rather get the Inkwell if it ever makes it to Canada. Don’t let the small store product drop fool you. I think the upload tonight will be bigger because of the start of the month (as it usually is).

Fit Review: Herringbone Wunder Under Pants

by Cristina September 2, 2014
written by Cristina

Since today is labour day, there was nothing new in my store to report on and no store product pictures to share with you but I did stop in today and see that they still had a full size run of the new Herringbone Wunder Under Pants. It was a mistake to try them on because once I had them on I realized how much more flattering and slimming this years version is. Some readers have mentioned to me that the print this year is slightly smaller and there also seems to be a darker shading in the print that runs horizontally across the vertical herringbone print. Last year I found the herringbone print warped a bit over curves (especially over large quads) but the darker horizontal shading in this years version minimizes that warping. Kinda like a skilled tattooist skewing perspective to fit a bodies curves.

You can see in this photo that last years print was much more ‘neat’ and orderly while this years has some darker patches, horizontal shading and a smaller herringbone print. All this reads more ‘texture’ than vertical lines.

Thanks to Ms. N for this photo

I’d much rather get these in a roll down version, and also in a roll down crop version because then I’d be sure to wear the crops to crossfit. I’m going to hang on to these for the next two weeks and wait and see. I suspect we will see roll downs but I had to bring these home with me just in case.

A few people have mentioned that this years herringbone doesn’t feel as soft as last years but to me they feel the same. Herringbone always feel thick and a bit stiff at first but once its been washed it softens up. They are TTS but feel tight coming on. Once on they are very comfortable and I was surprised I didn’t get muffin top that I sometimes get on tighter fitting wunder unders. I think the rise also feels a touch higher since I didn’t feel the need to yank them up at all.

I wish I had a picture of my herringbone wunder unders from last year to show you a comparison. I ended up selling them because of how I felt the print warped and accentuated larger thighs.

Find Your Centre Wrap, Wide Legged Wonder Pant, Herrinbone Wunder Under Pant, Chilly Chill Puffy Vest and More

Find Your Centre Wrap

I would have probably given the Find Your Centre Wrap much more interest if the price wasn’t $138 (much more than any other cotton french terry wrap has been), and if it wasn’t offered at the same time as Seawheeze Merch, Chilly Chill Puffy Vests, Bumble Berry items and all the other goodies we’ve seen over the past 2 weeks. I find a lot of people are complaining over the price of the vest ($168) but that is the price all down vests have been from LLL which is in line with other brands that use high loft down vs. polyester fill. I find $168 on quality outerwear much more palatable than $168 for the Here To There Dress, or $138 for a cotton french terry wrap. YMMV though and you may get tons of use out of the Here To There Dress if you wear it to work often, or the wrap for a milder winter location while I think I will get a ton of use out of the vest.

More Chilly Chill Puffy Vest, Awesoma Henley, Flip Your Dog Onesie

Are you tired of seeing lots of Chilly Chill Puffy Vests? I hope not because I’m not. I’m having trouble deciding on what color to keep. I was able to score a White/Inky Floral size 10 (the last in my size) at the Robson Lululemon which is the only store that has all the colors, so right now its between Inkwell and Ghost, or possibly the Black/Gigham although that would require hunting down again and I don’t think I have the energy.

Incidentally, the new Robson St. location is now so much more convenient. I used to avoid going there because the parking was pretty much only crowded meter street parking (try parallel parking downtown in a minivan). In the summer I’d sometime walk there from my Dr.’s appointments which where maybe a mile away but that was a treck with kids. The new location has a big parkcade 1/3 of the block down and it cost me $3 which wasn’t too bad.

This one is weird. I had to inspect it in store to see how the top attaches and it only attaches in the back.

Pretty ‘Purple Fog’ 105F Singlet

I love this one but had to return it today along with a few other things to make room for the Chilly Chill Puffy Vest. Hopefully this doesn’t sell out and I can get it later next month.

Crossfit WOD

by Cristina August 29, 2014
written by Cristina

I’ve been terrible at keeping up with this post but today I wore something a little ‘flashy’ that got some compliments at the box so I thought I’d share. Green Bean 105F Singlet, white energy bra, roll down wunder Under crops.

After the warmup today (bunch of running drills) we did one armed dumbell snatches which are harder at a lower weight than regular snatches. I worked up to 35lbs and did 3 rounds of 8.

The workout was DU/Snatch ascending ladder for  7 minutes:
20 Double Unders (or 40 Singles) and 1 Snatch @65lbs

20 Double Unders, 2 snatch

20 double unders, 3 snatch etc. etc.

I managed to just get in 7 rounds and at one point I had to run back and get a different jump rope because the one I got was slightly too short and I was getting calf pain from jumping up so high. I still don’t have double unders (nor have I practiced them) so I did the 40 singles for the workout. Someday I’ll care about double unders but for now I feel like its just a timing thing and I’d rather practice other skills.

Sneak Peek: Britt’s Picks

by Cristina August 29, 2014
written by Cristina

Britt’s Picks are up for the coming week and looky-looky! A Bumble Berry Cool Racerback Tank, definitely interested in that. Looks like all items are going to be uploaded to both US and Canada.  I’m liking the Flat Inky Floral Roll Down WU’s and the Herringbone (too bad not Roll Down).

I wonder what jacket that is in the Om & Roam Untight Tight picture.
