New Run Speed Skirt

by Cristina November 5, 2010
written by Cristina

What you see in this Poncho Stripe picture layered under the scuba is actually a new Run Speed Skirt. This is the stores response to the question asked by Zanna:

lululemon athletica Chadstone Hey guys! Thanks for your questions. What you see in pic 4 is actually our new run: speed skirt in the same poncho stripe as the hoodie. It’s probably the angle of the pic that makes it look like a top. Susan, if you’ve been looking on the canadian website the poncho stripe is quite different to the one for example they have on the stride jacket. Hope this helps! 😀

Interesting Product Notification Picture

by Cristina November 4, 2010

Here is a picture of a new Scuba Hoodie. It looks like the inner hood is lined with a tribal/poncho print but also, look at what she has on her wrists. They look like they are separate from the hoodie and not part of the sleeves at all. Like short arm or wrist warmers that are reversible. How strange! What do you guys make of this picture?

Upload Thursday Eve Musings

by Cristina November 3, 2010
written by Cristina

Well, I’m not hoping for much on tomorrows upload from what I’ve already seen in stores except I’ll probably get the Very Violet Cool Racerback and possibly the black Brimmed Beanie. I’m hoping to see an Inspire Pullover soon in Heathered Wish Blue (or Heathered Haze even) and I’m hoping it’s just as lovely and soft and subtle like the Lilac Inspire Pullover and the Teal Zeal Inspire. I’d also be happy to see another running luon LS in Heathered Wish or Very Violet. And Fleece is always a hope.

I’ve decided to also add a weekly wish list for ebay and the exchange on Thursdays Upload Eve. As posted about below this is my current obsession that I must find. And the Heathered Fox or Mudd Gratitude Wrap of course. So what my dear readers are you hoping for upload tomorrow or on ebay/the exchange?

Dear size 8 (or 10) Fuzzy Fleece Pullover,

are you feeling unfulfilled and neglected tucked away in someones closet unused and unloved? Please come find me as I’m desperately seeking a love connection with you. I have a few lulu friends in my closet I would love for you to meet.

Sincerely,

someone who is cold and needing a snuggle from a delightfully soft fleece pullover in a color and neckline that makes me look amazing.

Some More Pictures..Very Violet Define and more.

by Cristina November 3, 2010
written by Cristina

Very Violet Define looks pretty. I’m almost certain I saw a solid Persimmons one the other day but now I’m wondering why I haven’t seen it yet in pictures.

Stand Strong Tank in Very Violet. I love this tank in this color on her. I think she looks awesome. I didn’t initially notice the arrows pointing down but now I can’t not notice it now that it’s been brought to my attention. Does that bother all of you? I haven’t decided yet if that’s something that would deter me from wearing this tank.

I tried on the Express Yourself Wrap yesterday and I just didn’t love it for $118. It’s just not a flattering cut on me and I don’t care for the fabric blend as it’s prone to pilling. That being said it feels silky and has a nice weight to it.

And the POM Jacket. This one looks sized right but it does look short. I think that’s fine for mild winters here in BC but somewhere like Saskatoon or Alberta would need a bit more of a drop tail back.

Poncho Scuba Hoodie

by Cristina November 3, 2010
written by Cristina

Very interesting texture to the newest scuba hoodie. It looks like the woven muslin of real ponchos. I do really like the look of this scuba as it’s really different from the usual scubas.

**I think she’s wearing a poncho stripe Pima tee underneath that’s peaking out a the bottom!! I would love to see that. Not sure I would like it in a tee but I’m really, really wanting to see it.

This is a picture from Aritzia from the summer. They’re doing the poncho thing huge and even have woven laptop covers in this knitted print. I’ve been tempted by some leather mitts lined in shearling that have an tribal inspired print along the edge which sort of matches this style they are just $35 for really soft leather. Much better price point for mittens I think. If I can find a picture of them all add them here as I think it would look totally adorable with the Lulu Scuba Hoodie.

Tales of the Dreadmill

by Cristina November 3, 2010
written by Cristina

yet another time pressed evening requiring me to hop on my treadmill instead of gearing up to go out into the cold for a run this evening. I really hate treadmill running and would so much rather be outside enjoying the outdoors and seeing the distance I cover instead of just reading the numbers on the display. I find it so hard to maintain my usual distance on the treadmill for some reason even though it’s supposedly less effort expenditure. I get way hotter then I do outside and I it’s just so easy to hop right off when I’ve had enough where as outside, if I’ve run 3.5km’s out then I need to run that same distance back in order to get home. And why bother walking it if I can just get home faster by running. I think sometimes the treadmill is harder because I’m maintaining pace where as outside I’m constantly adjusting my pace as I go up and down hills.

If I look on the bright side of todays run, I did complete 4 miles (she’s an american treadmill) and I got to listen to music during my run which I never usually do when I run outside, and I got to watch a little bit of TV. Because I have a treadmill in my basement I get my very own space away from the kiddies and I can shamelessly run in my pima cotton Modern Racerback (eeek! not moisture wicking) and when I get overheated I can just wear my Flow Y and not worry about anyone seeing my jiggly bits. I got this AFG 5.0 Treadmill back in April as a post baby push present to myself and she’s really been neglected until now. I’ve run on her maybe 10 times since I got her but I tend to run outdoors rain or shine. This is a pretty excellent treadmill for a home use version if your thinking about maybe getting one. This treadmill has an ipod docking station and speakers, an orthotic belt (cushioning) and a wider and longer belt then average and is super quite which is good when the kids are sleeping. It also came with a Polar wireless heart rate monitor  which is really a great thing to use once in a while. The only downside of this treadmill is that it takes a little while to speed up to your selected pace so I just tag on a few extra seconds at the end to make up the difference but that’s just my little neurotic behavior. I think most runners are a little bit neurotic like that.

Now that I safely have my run behind me and the kids are asleep finally I’m diving head first into a bowl of Halloween candy with abandon as I’ve had a rough day and I’ve earned the reward.

And some new Shots of Items

by Cristina November 2, 2010
written by Cristina

I’ll add pictures here as they come up.

Here you see which of the new Scubas have metal zippers and which do not. Teal Zeal and Fruity Tooty are metal and I believe plum is as well. Metal zippers are an issue for a lot of people as the catch your clothes and tear them to shreds so I’m not sure why some scubas have them and some don’t.

I really love this Lilac Scuba.

Hello mystery long sleeve top in what looks like Very Violet..

Could this be a Dash LS in Very Violet with a tee shirt worn over it in disguise? it’s not Brisk Arm Warmers because there are no reflective strips.  Mystery solved. This top is a one piece top from 4 or so years ago that is made to look like a layered tee and LS. Boo. Well, now I’m dreaming of a Dash LS in Very Violet.

New Cool Racerback Colors

Lilac, Wish, Haze/Coal, Static Very Violet/Very Violet, Static Wish, Teal Zeal.

Why oh why didn’t I just grab that Very Violet. It’s haunting me now.

Candlelight tank. I like the dark grey better because it doesn’t have the Ombre stripe down the side. Now that I see it in more pictures I really like the way the straps in the back space out so much at the bottom and then narrow in towards the upper back.

Teal Zeal Scuba (metal zippers again?)

This educator is adorable and really nice. But I’m just so not a fan of Poncho Multi Stripe or Persimmons. I’m sorry if you love it but there is just something about those two that I hate. It looks nice on her. It’s not that it’s not flattering it’s just one of those colors/prints you either love or despise. I look forward to your letters.

and this educator looks fab in this outfit. But Persimmons, Tang Light and Lagoon are colors I detest. Poopoo!

See what I mean about Very Violet combined with Black? Looks pretty awesome that way. I think a Very Violet Stride with Black contrast symbol would have been nicer than the Static Grey.

I just noticed in a picture from today another Ivy Varsity Run Shirt.

Fast In Flight Bag – felted wooly fabric

Coal Pique Wunder Unders. I quite like these a lot..wishlisted.

Candlelight Tank – Cute, not so sure about the Ombre.

Very Violet CRB. Such a flattering color on. I was pleasantly surprised by this tank in how flattering the color is and also the feel of the static.

Persimmons Define. I’m pretty sure I also saw a solid Persimmons Define with the solid Very Violet one.   Persimmons is not a color that I gravitate towards.

And some new Wunder Unders. Ok, they are very cute in a way…but I can’t wear these prints on bottoms. Not many can. There fun but just really obvious and I like wearing more conspicuous bottoms. Of these I like the Static Wish the best, they almost look like denim.

Live simply Pants. Cute!

And cute brimmed beanie. I seem to remember these being in the $29-$35 range which is about what I would spend on a hat. I didn’t see it in store today otherwise I would have brought one home with me.

Try On Report: Candle Light Tank, Stand Strong Tank and Power Y

by Cristina November 2, 2010
written by Cristina

My day started well. It started like this..

Christmas at Starbucks

And then a product notification for new tanks. Hmmm, promising start to the day.

Candlelight TankCandlelight TankAlternate View

Description
  • Strappy, open back tank designed for yin and hatha class
  • Made with certified organic cotton fibre and LYCRA® fibre blend that provides natural softness, breathability and stretch for shape retention
  • Moderate support and coverage
  • Body hugging fit and long length
  • Straps cross in the back for full range of movement
  • Mesh bra construction with built-in pockets for removable cups
  • Preshrunk

And then my toddler discovered how to unbuckle herself from the stroller and escape making trying on clothes almost impossible.

The Candlelight Tank (size 8). I liked it because it was super soft. Much softer then the Organic Cotton of the Gathered Racerbacks or any other Organic Cotton Lycra blend I’ve felt from Lulu. Very, very soft tank is what I’m saying. I’m undecided if I like this tank enough to buy though. The Ombre stripe on the side of the light grey one (dark grey one is all solid) was interesting but maybe not so flattering. The straps in the back were pretty and very similar to the Free to be Bra. Slightly complicated getting this on, but then again I was getting flustered by a loose toddler opening dressing room doors. Mesh bra – I like just wearing my own bra so this was a slight turn off. that being said, with the pretty back detailing you need the built in bra. The fit was a lot like the Power Y but slightly more forgiving around the torso.

The Stand Strong Tank (size 8). I like this tank except for the fact that it’s short and not as a-line as other tanks. I like my tanks to be nice and long and this one felt much shorter then I like. It’s quite a comfortable with supportive straps and simple yet flattering design. I think the back seam detailing may bug you a bit if you’re on your back doing mat work but it’s not irritating at all just moving around upright. This one is Haze but they also had Black, Wish and Very Violet.

Power Y (size 8). Just to see if I liked the color on and I do. a lot. I wish the Static Wish CRB was more like this Static Wish Power Y as I find the CRB’s much more versatile to wear and there cheaper. I don’t think I would wear a Power Y all that often as I have a Fox one that I don’t wear very often. I tried on the Very Violet CRB on as well and I love that color on me. It’s fantastic. So that may be something I snatch up on upload on Thursday as it’s just easier for me to online shop now. as you can see from the photo above.
