I think we can expect to see the Down Time Jacket in Unicorn Tears uploaded tomorrow morning since Lululemon just posted that this version of the jacket will be an online only item. I’m hoping to see the Pure Focus tank posted about below uploaded as well as new colors of the Modern Racer Tank. I’ve heard whispers of the Modern Racer coming in Heathered Iris from the Lulu Addict Blog so that is something I would love to have since I passed on the Heathered Iris Live Healthy Wrap. I’ve also heard whispers of a Wren Scuba Hoodie with I’m sure will likely be uploaded tomorrow. That will probably be a gorgeous scuba, especially if it has a bright contrast color on it such as Violaceous.

Down Time Jacket

This month I have fallen in and out of love with a few tanks that ended up being a pass for me such as the Pure Balance Tank which was far too loose in the straps to offer me flattering support. The Unicorn Tears Cool Racerback Tank was a pass as well as non of the ones I’ve seen in person had a distribution of print that I  liked, and I also didn’t love the polyester heavy fabric. I’m really hoping I like this Pure Focus tank on me since it looks so beautiful in the pictures I’ve seen and is made of heavenly soft sheer luon. I like the cute cuffed hem at the bottom which reminds me of the No Limit Tank and how the body drapes down from the bustline. I’m really crossing my fingers on this tank because it’s just so pretty that I will be super disappointed if it fits poorly.

I originally spotted this tank in the Lululemon Vimeo for the Solace Jacket and posted about it in this post. It’s called the Pure Focus Tank and is made of sheer Luon. I’m in love with Sheer Luon and especially love how this tank drapes down from the bust so this is wishlisted for me.

I think I’m liking the Get Focused Tank in Unicorn Tears more then I like the Cool Racerback Tank.

Inner Strength Tank. I’d love to try it sometime. Also liking the Unicorn Tears version of it better then the Cool Racerback. I think it’s the black contrasting that I like.

Live Healthy Wrap. Sadly the one I ordered last week is going back to the store. The shape was just not doing anything for me and my pear shape and even though I loved the color, the wrap itself was just not flattering.

Looks like Rubber Ducky Scuba has made it to stores finally. Yellow is a tricky color so it’s best to try it on first. Personally I adore this color in the scuba but some have not liked it in person.

Sorry for being MIA today but we decided to take a Monday off and head to Seattle for a bit of shopping. I ended up trying on the Pure Balance Tank at the University Village Lululemon and the tank is gorgeous in person and the cup portion made out of ruched Sheer Luon was heavenly soft. The Iris Wee Stripe/Wren version of the tank was softer then the black one. I tried on both the size 8 and the size 10 and the tank just doesn’t work for me for a few reasons. First being the very deep and wide v-neck. It was way too open and I felt like I was about to fall out of the cups at any minute. Also, the side portion of the cups was not supportive enough in the sheer luon to pull the breasts inwards and upwards so it just felt too loose in both the 8 and the 10 and gave me a very unflattering bust. Smooshed down and falling to the side. Sad boobies 🙁 I think this tank is reserved for the high and mighty. The straps are slightly long as well so this tank surprised me in that it felt nothing like the Power Y. The Power Y is too tight on me in an 8 but the Pure Balance Tank was loose in the straps, loose in the bust and then form fitting in the body. 

I spotted a few Unicorn Tears Cool Racerback Tanks and checked them out but decided to pass on those ones. The ones I saw had a lot of orange and yellow on the front in large patches and I think if I were to go for this tank I would prefer more black, less color over all..but If it had color I would prefer the pink to be the most prominent. Also, I passed on it because it was a high polyester blend with a lot of sheer white. I also saw the Iris Wee Stripe Cool Racerback Tank and passed for now but it was heavenly soft. Same with the Iris Wee Stripe In Stride Jacket. The Pure Balance Jacket is a very structured and detailed jacket seam wise so I do see why it is a bit more expensive then an In Stride Jacket at $128. It has some really nice piping detail along the arms (reinforced seams??), plus all of the sheer luon panels and just an overall more finished and fine look then In Strides or Strides. I may feel tempted by these jackets in other colors. 

I left with nothing at lulu today but did buy a few beautiful shirts at Anthropologie on markdown. Too bad they don’t go well with Luon or Dance Studio Crops.

Amy Adams  is so naturally beautiful. I’m such a big fan of hers and really loved her in Julie & Julia, Sunshine Cleaning and in Doubt. She’s one of those actresses that looks really different physically from roll to roll without actually changing much of her physical appearance. What I mean is, the first thing you notice when watching one of her movies is the character she plays and not the actress herself. I love when I can watch a movie and not get distracted by the celebrity.

I’ve never seen her wearing lululemon and am feeling really intrigued by what’s in that bag. Is she a Define Jacket girl with only technical down to business gear? If I had to guess I think she would have a pair of Wunder Unders in Organic Cotton, maybe a Hot Class Tank and for sure a Live Healthy Wrap in that lulu shopper.

At first glance I’m not loving these but it almost looks like there is some ruching at the waist and that I think is pretty cute.

Too bad it’s just in profile but it’s a very cute jacket non the less. The jacket fits TTS and is priced at $128 and currently is only available in Black, Coal and White.

Pure Balance Jacket

Back in December I came across a Credit Suisse analyst report suggesting that Lululemon may in future choose to open up other avenues of growth by using different channels from brick and mortar stores and strategic sales partner stores such as wholesaling and stores within stores. I didn’t make much of this at the time or think this was likely to occur as Lululemon has such a strong and unique corporate culture that it would be hard to maintain that in another department store with non lululemon employees that have not been indoctrinated in the Lulu ways.

The other day I posted about this Gratitude Jacket clone that was found on the Neiman Markus website. It is an almost identical replica of the Lululemon Gratitude Wrap that many of us have been hoping would make a return soon, right down to the signature double cuffed, thumbhole on the sleeves. It struck me as odd that the NM jacket was only available in black and it made me think that if Lululemon wanted to liquidated items in other venues secretly they would likely make changes to the garment such as remove the logo, change a few pieces of hardware that contain the logo and also not liquidate items in signature lulu colors. It’s a common practice but not commonly known that big name retailers liquidate items to other stores such as Winners, Ross Dress for Less and on ebay. As a Canadian I’m not very familiar with NM and where they source their outside brands, but a reader who has spoken with a NM employee said “So, I talked a NM employee and her rep said this is a new line they’ll be carrying made by the same people who make Lululemon… so in other words, Lululemon is making a line for NM!!!!” The problem with doing this openly is that it cheapens the brand somewhat which is why it is done quietly by most brands. So why wouldn’t Lululemon just re-release the Gratitude Wrap in their own stores? Maybe this is a way for them to test the waters as wholesalers and see what the response is at NM? I know several readers are going to NM to purchase these jackets at $125 because they have been such hot ticket sellers on ebay at up to $250 because they are so hard to find and so coveted.  Based on the popularity of this item and that brand followers are now in the know of it’s location at NM I’m sure this will be a successful endeavor for Lululemon.

What worries me about these changes is that the report by Credit Suisse also suggested that at times of growth like what Lululemon has had this past year, companies like Nike take great interest in overtaking the competiter brands, especially since Nike is lacking in a such a comprehensive line of women’s sports apparel.  Is this a sign of things to come with Lululemon? This may be a great thing for shareholders but what about us brand loyal customers? What changes will we see as customers?
