Spotted! Kourtney Kardashian in Lululemon

by Cristina March 30, 2011
written by Cristina

Kourtney Kardashian is wearing Lululemon on this weeks cover of US Magazine. She has on the Purple Crush All Sport Bra and matching Coal and Purple Crush Hot Class Shorts. Those Hot Class Shorts are pretty teeny tiny and she’s rocking them after having had a baby. Kourtney Kardashian was on the highly addictive reality TV show called Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Both ‘White’ Mudra Wraps

Left:  Heathered Sand   Right:  Heathered White

As I said in an earlier post, these two wraps are like trying to decide between several different shades of white paint swatches to paint your walls. Heathered Sand is a champaignish white where as Heathered White is like a pearlyish silvery white. Have fun deciding! I went the easy rout and chose the Blurred Grey which is a dark grey.

Factory Outlet Report

by Cristina March 29, 2011
written by Cristina

Well I was right about the Factory Outlet getting a big shipment of products due to the changes to the website and reduction of inventory since it will cost a lot more to ship these items to the new distribution centre then it would be to sell these items at reduced prices. Currently the FO in Burnaby has Down Time Jackets in Violaceous which never made it to stores (except for in Australia) on sale for $129 from $148. If you don’t have access to the Vancouver FO and you have been patiently waiting for this jacket to arrive I’m sure you will see it show up on ebay in the coming days. I’m oh so tempted by the gorgeous color in this jacket but I really don’t need it for Spring running and it doesn’t have the reflective features I want in a running jacket so I’m going to resist the temptation to have a friend pick one up for me or from rushing out madly to the FO. I may drop in on Saturday morning after grocery shopping which I do up the street from the outlet in which case I may once again be tempted if they are still there or on further markdown.

Color Love and Then Newest Items

Tango Red

These ladies look so fantastic in this warm toned red. You can tell this is a warm red and not a cool red in how it brings out the warmth in these ladies complexion.

Heathered White Mudra Wrap and Snorkel Modern Racer

I’m currently having a love affair with Snorkel Blue in the Modern Racer.

Blurred Grey Mudra Wrap, Iris Wee Stripe Lively Tee

and also with Iris Wee Stripe

Black Mudra Wrap

Iris Scuba Hoodie

Snorkel Scuba Hoodie

See what I mean? Snorkel is an amazing blue!

Blurred Grey with Citron

Blurred Grey is the only grey that doesn’t seem to wash me out. I think it’s because it’s a warmer toned grey. Looks really great paired with Citron and Black.

New CRB! Heathered Sand Dune Wee Stripe

by Cristina March 29, 2011
written by Cristina

I seem to have a weakness for the striped Cool Racerback Tanks. I keep kicking myself for not getting the Iris Wee Stripe one (and the Split Pea) but I passed since I have the Power Purple Wee Stripe and they’re kind of similar. What I love about them is that they seem to have a softer brushed feel and a looser luon weave blended with more Nylon so it feels a lot more cottony. I gravitate to wearing those ones more out of all my CRB’s. The wee stripe and variations of the stripe really turn them into great neutrals which are great for layering. I’m feeling tempted by this one, especially if in person the base color reads more sandy taupy and less white.

More Mudra Wrap Details

Mudra Wrap  Heathered Blurred Grey and Black

Shortened version front and back. I believe this is the Heathered White version but it’s hard to distinguish the two lightest colors in person so it’s even harder in pictures. The other one is called Heathered Clarity Grey.  One was a very soft pale grey almost silvery white and the other was an off white champaign with pink undertones. Have you ever looked at all the white paint swatches from one brand of paint? Hence why I chose Heathered Blurred grey. Who can choose between two very similar off white colors? I like the Heathered Blurred Grey a lot though, its a warmer toned grey that doesn’t seem to wash me out and I like it’s versatility in my closet.

Heathered Blurred Grey

I really love the knit detailing on the back. There is a pleat detail and on the inside the fabric is woven in a different way. It’s slightly thicker then the rest of the wrap and looks more like a waffle weave. The back of this wrap just drapes so beautifully front and back, closer to the body then the Live Healthy Wrap. The wrap fits TTS but you may want to try the size down just to see if you prefer the length difference. I grabbed an 8 and didn’t bother to try on any other sizes or colors. The arms are fitted and some may find them snug but I found them quite comfortable. These knits tend to loosen up with wear so if you find it just a touch fitted you will be alright.

Store Report

by Cristina March 28, 2011
written by Cristina

Well I had a lovely afternoon with Nancy from Your Personal Lulu Shopper and a few other Lulu gals from the community checking out the newest items. Nancy is such a lovely person and she wears her Lulu so beautifully. I think she should offer styling tips as well as shopping services.

There was not a whole lot in today’s product drop which I sort of expected. I saw all four colors of the Mudra Wrap  (heathered White Snow, Heathered Clarity Grey, Black and Heathered Coal) and really liked it quite a lot so I brought one home in Coal.

Mudra WrapMudra WrapAlternate View

The Mudra Wrap is about the same weight, or slightly thinner then the Chai Time Pullover but with a tighter knit then the Chai so its soft and silky but slightly sheer which is perfect for summer. The drape at the ‘lapels’ is much prettier then the Live Healthy since there is much less fabric to cause bulk in the front which was my issue with it. Nancy tried this wrap on and an educator helped her tie the longer pieces at the front/sides in the rear and then with the back fabric pulled over top, this turned it into a pretty streamlined shrug with no visible knots. The buttons are handy to make the wrap shorter but there are not a lot of options for how to use the buttons. As soon as I see a variety of pictures for this wrap and how to wear it I will post them here for you. If you waited out the Live Healthy Wrap but have been wanting something similar then I think this is definitely worth a try, the subtle differences in this version may be just what you needed.

In Stride Jacket Tango Red and Grape Seed

In Stride JacketIn Stride JacketAlternate View

Tango red is definitely a true red but it leans towards tomato red  with a touch of candy apple in it. Not nearly as orange as Alarm was but this is a very warm red for sure and I don’t think it has any blue undertone to it. I find this picture to be quite accurate of what the color looks like in person. I think I’d like this red more in a cotton piece such as a Modern Racer Tank. Luon makes colors look very saturated.

Static Grape Seed
You probably will strongly disagree with my opinion of Static Grape Seed but I just didn’t care for it in person, not in the static at least but that’s probably tainted by my dislike of static luon in general.  It was a lot more pastel then the old Static Lolo Purple Cool Racerback Tanks and has darker purple contrasting on it at all the zippers. It’s very pretty, just not to my favour and too soft a purple for me.

Lively Crewneck Tee Heathered Iris Wee Stripe (HSHGllsw)
Lively Crewneck TeeLively Crewneck TeeAlternate ViewI really liked this Tee. I have the same color/print in the Modern Racer Tank and If I had not already purchased the tank a few weeks ago I may have considered the tee instead. I really love this heathered Iris a lot and find it looks really pretty paired with Wren. The Modern Tank has a bit more visual interest to it since it has the seam detailing around the arms and neck with the different direction of the wee stripe and the contrast stitch. It’s just a bit more obvious in the tank then it is in the tee.
