Fur Lined Scuba Hoodie and Blurred Grey Run: Your Heart Out Pullover

by Cristina December 6, 2011

I’m not a big fan of this $148 fur trimmed scuba hoodie from Lululemon  mostly because I prefer the Aritzia fur trimmed hoodie for $128 thats been pretty popular around these parts for at least the past 5 years. The Aritzia hoodie fur is a bit lower profile and more luxurious feeling while this longer faux fur is a bit scratchy around the face. Also, the Aritzia low pile faux fur lines the inside of the jacket, not just the hood trim.

Product Information For Run: Back On Track Skirt Pig Pink/Coal

by Cristina December 6, 2011
written by Cristina

I’m of the opinion with running skirts that you should go big or go home. Wearing a running skirt is already implicitly feminine so why not go allll the way with all sorts of pink ruffly bits (teeny bit sarcastic here). This skirt is actually pretty cute in a solid color, especially in Paris Pink, but the contrasted tiny ruffles embedded in the bigger ruffles makes this look a bit like an iced cupcake.

The Cozy Coat Product Information and Pictures

by Cristina December 6, 2011
written by Cristina

Thanks to the lovely Sharon from one of the Lululemon Facebook Groups for trying on the Cozy Coat. It’s $178 and is lined with sherpa fleece throughout and fitted to the body so you can comfortably wear a base layer like a Cabin LS or Swiftly Tech Tee but not something bulky.

Early Upload!

by Cristina December 6, 2011
written by Cristina

Well I did not expect an upload today at all so thank you to one of my readers for letting me know. I think besides being annoyed at not knowing when to expect the upload, Tuesday uploads are probably better for getting deliveries faster since you don’t have to wait thru the weekend.

I know a lot of you have been waiting for the Paris Pink Run: For It Pullover to appear since I posted the image from the website (here) so I expect this one will fly off the shelves considering it hasn’t even hit stores yet. I haven’t ordered anything today although I may have been swayed if the Paris Pink Pure Balance Jacket  got uploaded even though I passed on it in store yesterday so it’s a good thing for me it wasn’t uploaded.

What did you guys order? What do you think of this surprise Tuesday Upload?

Lululemon Mens Pants Fit Review: Trek Pants and Formula Pants

by Cristina December 6, 2011
written by Cristina

For those of you ladies buying Lululemon pants for the men in your life I finally managed to get my husband to try some lululemon again. The last time was on his birthday last year when I brought him Kung Fu Pants and a hoodie (can’t remember which hoodie) and he rejected them both. “I wont wear lululemon pants at all ever in a million years. Please take those back”, is what he said to me. A few months later he was home sick with a cold and feeling sorry for himself and he had the nerve to tell me he wished he had those lulu pants to wear. He wears a suit for work and has a pretty good professional wardrobe but his home wardrobe is pretty sad. ratty-tatty jeans, Old Navy Cargo Shorts, ripped to shreds t-shirts. He bike rides, refs hockey and golfs on occasion so he doesn’t really have a need for super technical stuff other than hockey gear so there was never any need for lululemon pants other than for lounging in.

Lululemon is still considered a bit ‘metrosexual‘ in Vancouver so many men (not all men) won’t even go into the store to try stuff on. It takes a lot of nagging from wives and girlfriends for men to actually give lulu a chance but once they do they are hooked. This year my husband decided he really wanted some lulu sweat pants for Christmas but his condition was that he would not set foot in the store to try stuff on for me, I had to go pick out the clothes for him. This was just a little stressful for me because he’s very tall (6’4) but he’s also got really long limbs (hushed voice*and a bit of a tummy*) so fit can sometimes be hit or miss depending on the brands. All of the tall length pants were sold out and I was really worried that the Trek Pants especially would be too short on him but they are actually pretty long with a 34″ inseam. I think they actually sit lower than 34″ though because he usually takes a 36″ in pants and these went right to the floor with a but of pooling. He LOVED these pants when he tried them on tonight and then even did the pocket test for his wallet to see if it made his butt look too lumpy and apparently these pants passed because they are so relaxed fitting that the wallet didn’t stick out much. He loved that they have an inner coolmax lining as well so they feel cozy like sweats but they are a bit more put together.

I also brought home the Formula Pants as an alternative to try on and I didn’t plan on giving him both for Christmas since I had some other ideas for him for but he decided he wanted both pants. The Formula Pants do come in a tall length but they sold out online a few weeks ago and they are apparently a rare find in stores according to both Metrotown and Coquitlam so I just got him the regular length and they fit perfect. Longer than the Trek Pants with a bit more pooling on the ground. Mariah, the lovely educator that helped me out today persuaded me to try the Formula Pants instead of the Kung Fu Pants because she said a lot of men that are hesitant to give lululemon a try especially don’t like the Kung Fu Pants at first because a) it’s luon and b) it may highlight ‘the package‘ and so the Formula Pants are what she usually recommends as a good ‘starter pant’ for the boys. My brother will still only wear the Metal Vent Tech Tee my mom got him for Christmas and my brothers in-law will wear only cotton to the gym and Bench Clothes for lounge wear. At Crossfit I see more guys that wear lulu but it’s mostly just the Metal Vent Tech’s or hoodies, not so much the pants and no brand cotton tee’s are still the most prevalent along with Under Armour

I have to say, I’m really pleased I finally got my husband to appreciate lululemon pants for himself. It was almost as wonderful a purchase as buying myself something from lulu. Almost. Also, it’s quite awesome that I’ve finished shopping for the most difficult person on my Christmas shopping list so early on. I highly recommend just getting your husbands/boyfriends some lulu pants if your stumped on ideas, I especially like the Trek Pants.

More Photos Of The Latest: Run: Stay The Course Jacket, Pure Balance Jacket, Manifesto LS

by Cristina December 6, 2011

Oooh my, I just dragged my ass home from a mean Crossfit WOD. We did ‘Eve’ which is 5 rounds of 800 meter run, 30 Kettlebell swings, and 30 Pull-ups and my lungs are still on fire from sprinting in the freezing cold in just a tank top (Currant CRB for those of you wondering) and some crops. I started off with my Full Tilt Pullover and ended up taking it off after the first round. It’s so funny that when I go out on a run (non crossfit run that is) I bundle up and wear a pullover and warm pants, but when I crossfit run I’m happy in just a Cool Racerback Tank. Anyways, I survived it and came home expecting my blogger duties to be finished for the night but there seems to be tons of new stuff to update. I’ll post a little more once I put the kiddlets to bed.

New! Paris Pink Manifesto Long Sleeve

by Cristina December 6, 2011
written by Cristina

I’m not a big fan of the Manifesto Burn Out tops for a few reasons, reason one being it’s absurd price point and how delicate it is. I know I’m in the minority in not liking this print but I think it will be very popular as manifesto prints usually tend to sell out. There have been a few on markdown but really only the white colorway.

Run: Stay On Course Jacket – $138

Coquitlam had this jacket in today and I caught a glimpse of it as I was paying but then forgot to go over and check it out.

Now I’m lusting after it again. I think Paris Pink photographs warmer than it is.

Store Report: Pure Balance Jacke, Run: Stay On Course Crop and More

by Cristina December 5, 2011
written by Cristina

There wasn’t a ton new at Coquitlam Lulu today but I think they now get the really big shipments in on Tuesdays/Wednesdays which I keep forgetting about. I did try on the Pure Balance Jacket in Paris Pink that I’ve been lusting after but I felt like it was just a little too bright on me. They also had them in in black and coal but I’d like a non neutral in this jacket and I wasn’t totally sold on the Paris Pink one. I’ve wanted this jacket since it was first out last year and passed only because it only came in Coal/White and Black. I really hope it comes out again in other colors because a Currant Red or Persian Purple/Power Purple or Pigment Blue would be just gorgeous! Or even one with Elevation Space Dye incorporated into the jacket!!!!  I can sort of sense that this Pure Balance Jacket in paris pink will be my unicorn in a year or two.

I also tried on the Turn Around LS in Paris Pink and it was suuuuper soft and cozy but something about the looped knit material seems like it will get fuzzy really quickly on me and that keeps deterring me from picking one up. My store still hasn’t gotten in the Swiftly Tech LS’s in Paris Pink yet and thats another item that’s been on my wish list. I’d have ordered it online but it seems that every time I order online nowadays my order processes for days on end before it cancels out so I try to stick to in store purchases if I know the item I want is there.

Coquitlam had all of the new No Limit Tanks in today as well and some new run crops called Run: Stay on Course Crops and the new limited edition Ruffle Cool Racerback Tanks but no The Cozy Coats. I picked up Trek Pants and Formula Pants for my husband for Christmas with Mariah’s (best Lulu educator of all time) help and hopefully I can get a fit report for you ladies hoping to get your husbands some lulu for Christmas. I’m a little bit clueless when it comes to Lululemon mens pants and mens workout clothing in general since my husband buys all of his own clothes but I’ll see what he’s willing to share about the fit (coming from a non lulu junkie perspective of course).

Disappointing shopping trip for me though, as much as I really like the current color palette of Paris Pink, I really really find I gravitate to Elevation Space Dye much more than I do the solid Pink. I’m sad that there were not more items in this print to choose from such as a Stride Jacket or a Cool Racerback Tank or Running Luon Pullover. Paris Pink is great in a tank top for me but it’s a lot of commitment to wear sooo much of it.

Run: Stay On Course Crops

Very curios what the price for the Cozy Jacket is. I prefer the style of the Off The Mat jacket to this one but if you passed on the OTM due to the bulk at the neckline than you may love this style. I think I just don’t love that it’s cotton on the outside and fleece on the inside.
