Fit Review: Will Pants

by Cristina December 28, 2011
written by Cristina

I finally get to share a fit review with you guys for the Will Pants now that I’ve been able to wear mine out for the day. I had gotten some Astro Pants from my mom for Christmas and I decided that I’d rather have the Will Pants to wear with boots and sweaters so I exchanged them yesterday and opted for the black for now instead of denim slub or the pique.

I’ve been wearing my SE Knotted Wunder Unders tons with boots but the knot at the calf makes my boots look a bit lumpy. Also, I’m forever tugging up at my wunder unders and I’m limited as to what sweaters to wear with them thanks to mummy muffin top. These pants are the answer to all of my issues with the Wunder Unders and combine the waist that I love from the Still Pants with the stylishness of the Wunder Unders. I agree with other reviews that the waist is quite high but it’s not too bad on me because I have a really long torso. Some of you that are short torsoed have mentioned the waist hits you right beneath your boobs but on me it sits just above my belly button. You can also fold the waist down for a lower rise but since I always wear long tops with leggings/wunder under style pants the rise doesn’t bother me at all, it just holds everything in nicely and leaves a nice smooth line. The pocket placement combined with the high waist does look a little funny on if you’re pear shaped like I am, but I always wear long tops so you’d never ever see the full waist on me, just the bottom half of the pockets which I think looks really cute peaking out at the bottom of a shirt. I don’t really know when you would wear pants like these with shorter tops anyways but if I had to I would opt for grooves or something else. I think these pants will also be really perfect for pregnant ladies wanting to wear leggings as workout wear or as part of an outfit. I know when I was pregnant I was able to wear Still Pants but Wunder Unders would have been totally out of the question due to the waist.

Now for the fit. I call these TTS with a more compressive feel than regular Wunder Unders. My Knotted Wunder Unders are also a 10 but the luon is much looser against my legs than these are. These feel really tight coming on but once you’ve worn them around a bit they are just as comfortable. I think the added compression is meant to help keep the pants up with such a loose waist. Also, these pants have a seam running up the outside of the legs which I think makes these a touch dressier than WU’s which are seamless on the outside leg. The logo placement is on the lower left leg and I wish there was a less obvious placement for that but my boots pretty much cover it anways. I probably wouldn’t wear these pants to crossfit at all but I think they’d be great for low impact activity or casual wear. I really like that I can wear my CRB’s with these pants and get a nice smooth line at my waist instead of the muffin top I sometimes get with my WU’s which I reserve for wearing with looser fitting tops. All in all these are really great pants and I’d probably get a second pair at some point in the Slub Denim.

New! It’s Happening Jacket

by Cristina December 28, 2011
written by Cristina

A new cotton french terry jacket has appeared in a US product alert today. It looks like it comes in Heathered Silver Spoon (pictured) Pigment Blue and Black. To be honest I’m not really loving this at first glance. The shape is a bit boxy, especially with those big square pockets in the front. Of course, as always I reserve final judgement until I’ve seen a few real life photos on different shapes.

Pigment Blue White Narrow Bold Stripe CRB in Stores

by Cristina December 27, 2011

Coquitlam Centre just posted that they have this CRB in today. I didn’t notice it when I was in but it was super busy still with markdowns and there was a huge lineup to get into the store and to pay so I got what I needed (Will Pants -LOVE! Will review soon) and left. There is also supposed to be a bold striped ‘hamburgler’ CRB on its way.

Run: Shine Your Heart Out Vest

by Cristina December 27, 2011

I briefly checked out the Shine Your Heart Out in store today and it is a pretty neat vest to be worn soley for the reflectivity. It’s entirely made of stretchy power mesh and has no pockets, not even a mini back pocket for ID. It’s priced steeply in my opinion at $68, especially since it has no pockets -but I do see it’s potential for warm summer night runs when you want a vest that has reflectivity but you don’t want something that will trap heat. It’s essentially a safety vest but I think it needs the pockets before I’m convinced I need this.

New! Mystery Running Vest

by Cristina December 27, 2011
written by Cristina

Coquitlam Centre just posted pictures of this new V-Neck Running vest with oodles of reflectivity edged into the ruffles on the back and on the logo on the front. The two things I feel a running vest must have are great pockets and tons of reflectivity. If it’s not highly functional there is just no point in wearing a vest for running in. I’ll be in the store shortly so I’ll check out the details and post them back here.

Boxing Day Shopping Report and Photos Of The Latest

by Cristina December 27, 2011
written by Cristina

Boxing day shopping yesterday was a lot of fun with my sister. Its a tradition for us to go Boxing day shopping every year for the past 12 years even though for the past few years we’ve said we wouldn’t do it again up until Christmas Eve when we started getting the Must.Shop.Fever. It definitely helps when you have a stocking full of gift cards and cash from the parents so it really is soooo much fun spending fun money on things that are marked down without feeling an ounce of guilt. We used to drag the husbands and our brother with us and then we decided that they were just weighing us down so we’ve disinvited them from the tradition much to their appreciation. Yesterday we started with a stop in at Sephora so that I could exchange my new Clarisonic Mia for the Clarisonic Plus (review to follow soon). Sephora was deaddeaddeadsky and at first they gave me friction over doing an exchange on boxing day but they realized how dumb that was considering it’s a straightforward exchange, I was UPgrading a pricey product aaaaaaaand they had nobody in the store and no sales.

Next on the list was the Lululemon boxing day lineup which is the hugest lineup in the mall (with the exception of the men folk lining up at Future Shop and Best Buy). The mall itself wasn’t terribly busy, about the same as a weekend at the mall. The sales inside the store where approximately the same as the online upload although I was able to find a stash of Savasana Socks on for $24 and Allegro Scarves on for $48. I picked up the socks and considered the scarf but passed on it since I don’t normally wear scarves. Now I’m sort of regretting not getting it but I’m sure they will have some left today if I am inclined to go back. I also got the new Run: Stay On Course Pullover in Pigment Blue but I’m considering taking it back and getting Will Pants instead. I think I just like last years Ambition Pullover a bit better and I’m not sure I need two of them. I’ll post a comparison of both shortly. I did however really like the look of the Run: Back On Track Tank but didn’t get to try it on because the fitting room lineups were insane. I’m a bit torn between the Pig Pink one and the Silver Spoon Multi Stripe and may end up picking one up with another exchange I have to make. I was hoping to see the Pigment Blue Chai Time Pullover II but it wasn’t released yet, maybe Monday. I’m hoping to make it in today to do my exchanges and see if there are still sales racks out and if it’s not busy I’ll try on the Run: Back On Track Tank as well as the Will Pants and I’ll give you a review.
