OOTD: Crossfit

by Cristina July 4, 2012
written by Cristina

Slow news day with nothing but Om Leotards and Covers It all Dress pictures today so I thought I’d post my OOTD for Crossfit (warmup: Sumo Deadlifts, WOD: 40 Burpees, 50 sit ups, 40 kettlebell swings, 30 pullups and 20 handstand pushups). My outfits lately have been incredibly boring since I’ve been mostly running. Seriously, I’ve worn the exact same outfit to every run for the past month and a half. Run: Silver Bullet Tank and Run: Chase Me Crops. I’m at about 9 miles for my past several long runs but I’m kind of hating running these days and it’s totally feeling like a boring chore to get out there so last week I decided to refocus on my crossfit again since I took several weeks off. Man I’ve missed crossfit so much. It’s just never boring.  Anyways, I wore my favorite CRB, the Extra Long Heathered Coal which is super duper soft. The length of it was perfect over my Deep Indigo Ebb and Flow Crops covering my tuchus while I did the un-lady like Sumo Deadlifts. I also pulled out an oldie, my Free to Be Hoodie from early 2010. I have this in Black and Angel Blue and for a while I thought i’d sell the black one but I’ve decided I should probably keep it since Lululemon hasn’t come out with lightweight hoodie options this Spring/Summer. It was nice to have a thin cotton french terry on hand that I didn’t mind getting chalk all over while it got dragged around the box with me.

Also, Lainey Gossip has several great articles up today about the Tom Cruise Katie Holmes Divorce. Lainey really is the Dean of the Faculty of Celebrity Studies.

Sneak Peek From Down Unda: V-Neck Swiftly in Pow Pink and Pop Orange and Run: Dash Crops

by Cristina July 4, 2012
written by Cristina

These pictures come from an Australian store and I am literally salivating over the Pow Pink Swiftly V-Neck. I’m pretty ho-hum about this color in the Cool Racerback and other luon fabrics but it’s totally different for me in the swiftly tech. The Run: Dash Tights also come in the Black/Mirage Print we saw in an earlier post today.

The Latest: Pow Pink Swiftly SL and CRB, Pop Orange CRB and Deep Indigo Slub Denim In Stride Jacket

Deep Indigo Slub Denim In Stride Jacket

This one is quite cute but denim slub luon isn’t exactly soft and cozy so it doesn’t tempt me.

 Pow Pink Swiftly SL

I’m liking this color in the swiftly material a lot. Not sure about the CRB though.

Mirage Speed Shorts

Pop Orange Cool Racerback

I was in store today doing some returns and they had the pop orange and pow pink CRB’s out together. I didn’t much care for either color but I think it could have to do with not liking Pow Pink next to Pop Orange. I do really like the pink in the swiftly material though and I think sometimes if a color I like is displayed in a palette I don’t like it it makes me less interested in that color. We’ll see tomorrow if I like the color in a different context and away from Pop Orange.

Sneak Peek From Down Under and Sneak Peek on the International/Canada Side

by Cristina July 3, 2012
written by Cristina

Here are a couple of items uploaded to the Australian/New Zealand website that should be coming to North America soon. I’m now wondering if I should return the Swiftly SL in Pow Pink in favor of the v neck (I currently have none but love the fit of the v neck) or the LS which I also love.

This one is listed as Pow Pink Light but I’m pretty certain it’s Pow Pink.
The other swiftly items look much lighter.

Winter length tights. I like the high rise on these.

These items are previews uploaded on the International and Canada side of the website.

Interesting running jacket. The structure and seaming really reminds me of a scuba hoodie

A new print. Not really excited about this one. Reminds me of crocodile skin

This print I am loving though. It sort of reminds me of the Elevation print of last winter

Yes! Power Purple. Come to me my pretty!!

Upload! No Bruised Berry CRB and no Sing, Floss, Travel Jackets tonight. I ordered these three items but I’m not sure I’m keeping any of them. I’ve already read that Pow Pink is leaching dyes and I’m not sure I want that kind of burden in my workout wear. Did you guys order anything tonight?

Review and Contest: Second Denim Yoga Jeans

by Cristina July 2, 2012

Second Denim Yoga Jeans

About a month ago I got a chance to try on this awesome brand of jeans called Yoga Jeans by Second Denim Co. I’d heard about them thru a reader that swore up and down that these were the most comfortable and flattering jeans she had ever tried on and that I had to try them so I ran out to RW&CO that afternoon which sells the brand and tried them on immediately. They are so comfortable and flattering that they’ve replaced Wunder Unders for me as casual wear. I was so excited about these jeans after trying them on that I contacted the Second Denim Company and they graciously agreed to sponsor this post with a contest for readers. The most fantastic part about this company is that they are firmly committed and proud of the fact that all of their jeans are made in Canada. All designs, washing and finishing are done in Montreal, Canada and Eric Wasana, the owner of Second Denim is it’s sole designer.

Now as for the fit, they are expertly constructed with top quality denim sourced from Italy, Japan, Spain and the Americas, 97% brushed cotton denim and 3% elastine. Their 92% memory retention means that although these jeans stretch and move with you, they will not bag out (industry standard for that is around 64%. Hello saggy jeggings that start with a G and end in an AP) and they will snap right back to hug your curves. You can literally do yoga in these jeans and feel perfectly comfortable in any of asanas you would feel comfortable doing in Wunder Unders. Please note though that these are not sweat wicking or cooling so it’s not ideal for workouts in that regard, but they are ideal for playing with your kids at the playground, showing off your yoga moves to friends at dinner parties and for looking very stylish yet comfortable in.  Second Denim Yoga Jeans come in a variety of bodies ranging from low, mid, high and sky rise as well as a variety of legs such as skinny, straight, bootcut and flare. My usual denim size varies, I’m a 31 and 32 in Levi’s Demi Curve Jeans, 32 in J Brand. The size I opted for in the skinny mid rise Yoga Jeans was the 31 and they are quite comfortable and fit perfect. I really find these have the comfort of Wunder Unders but also have the structure of denim that really hides flaws and makes you look put together and stylish. The material really does feel like denim and not some weird faux denim luon like material. It’s definitely structured denim  but with extra stretch and flaw coverage.   The Yoga Jeans retails for about $120 and is sold at various retailers in the US and Canada. If you are in Vancouver you can find these jeans at Holt Renfrew, Plum and RW&CO to name a few.  There are various retailers in the US that also sell these Yoga Jeans which you can find on the Second Denim website under store locator. The next pair of Yoga Jeans I’d like to buy are the caramel colored jeans in skinny and high rise.

Now for the giveaway part. Second Denim is offering one pair of any of their Yoga Jeans to one of my readers. In order to win a pair you must ‘like’ them on their facebook page (Yoga Jeans) in order to be eligible. You must also leave a comment in my comments section telling me you would like a pair of Yoga Jeans, your comment is how I will create a random draw using whatever name you chose to leave your comment under (do not leave an anon or guest comment). You get an extra entry to this contest for posting a link of this contest on your own blog (shoot me an email at [email protected] with the link). The contest ends on July 14th and I will name the winner of this contest in a blog post on July 15th instructing the winner to contact me by email to finalize. If the winner fails to contact me within 24 hours I will have a redraw. Good luck!! I know you will love these jeans as much as I do.

A Little Birdie Says: Sing Floss Travel Jackets Making A Come Back

by Cristina June 30, 2012
written by Cristina

A little Lululemon birdie has hinted that the Sing Floss Travel Jacket will be making a comeback shortly. This is the most exciting news for me because we haven’t seen any light weight summer hoodies this year which was really disappointing. Lightweight hoodies usually make appearances in the spring and summer months but for some reason lululemon has decided to forgo those this year until the fall lineup which starts July. The Sing, Floss, Travel Jacket is my favorite design because it’s super flattering, especially on shorter ladies, without having that tubular look that some of the other long jackets have had on me. It really hugs the curves and is quite proportionally balanced.  I’m hoping we see a gorgeous deep purple like Bruised Berry, and a lighter one like Power Purple.

Sneak Peek From Hong Kong: Sun: Runner Hybrid Pullover

by Cristina June 30, 2012
written by Cristina

The new Sun Runner Hybrid Pullover out now in the Hong Kong show room is made out of UPF Jersey, Swift and Mesh. Comes in Pow Pink Light and Black. Very interesting that Pow Pink is referred to as Pow Pink Light.

Also, there is mention of a Pow Pink Cool Racerback Tank in Halifax stores today. I’ll be checking out the stores this weekend since Monday is Canada Day and there probably wont be a product drop.

OT: Breaking News! Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Divorce

by Cristina June 29, 2012
written by Cristina

This is completely off topic but I’ve been waiting all day for my favorite gossip blogger to post about the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Divorce  and she just did. I’m honest to goodness not a hollywood gossip follower (ok, just a little) but I do love Lainey Gossips take on hollywood strategy and her inside scoops so be sure to read her posts on it. I bet you a Heathered Paris Pink Define Jacket that Katie Holmes will be dying those greys finally and looking her best ever. She’s been looking really haggard lately which saddens me because she is so young and beautiful but I know that now that her contract is up (or prematurely terminated) she will make an appearance soon looking more beautiful than ever and she will bust her butt getting her career back. Don’t ever underestimate a woman’s ability to reinvent herself. Who knows…maybe she’ll play Anastasia in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie . She’d be perfect.
