New Blog Feature!! A Lululemon Devoted Forum

by Cristina May 8, 2013
written by Cristina

Hey dear readers, I’ve been wanting to do something to this blog for a long time now and finally figured out how exactly to do that. I’ve wanted to add a forum feature to this blog since a lot of you readers are not on facebook and don’t get a chance to enjoy some of the lululemon groups meant as chat groups or as buying/selling groups. Well, I just found a forum program that is blogger compatible and went ahead and set it up. It’s called ‘Confessions Of A Lululemon Addict‘ and there is a link to it at the top of my page. Last year I ran a feature on this blog where readers sent in photographs of their lululemon closets to be posted on this blog, and so I thought that would be a great first topic. Post your ISO (in search of), post your unicorns captures, post your insane Speed Short or Cool Racerback Collections. Play around with it and start topics as you please. I will of course moderate this forum so nobody gets their feelings hurt, or nothing weirdo gets posted. It is a work in progress so I don’t have rules posted just yet, but they are coming.

Let me know how you like this feature! I really hope it becomes an active community.

Fit Review: Contempo Jacket

by Cristina May 8, 2013
written by Cristina

I broke down and ended up ordering the Contempo Jacket in Power Purple since my Define Jacket sold and I wanted to replace it with the same color in another jacket. I was torn on sizing but went ahead and chanced the size 8. In the Forme Jacket, a size 8 is quite snug and the size 10 is the better fit. I always sized down to an 8 in the Stride/In Stride Jackets even before I lost weight, and sized up to a 12 in the Define Jacket. The size 8 in this jacket is plenty roomy on me and nice and long so I’m really glad I went with this size. I can’t really say wether this is my TTS yet or if this is a size down for me since my CRB’s are 50/50 size 8’s and 10’s. Honestly, I can do both sizes quite comfortably. I’d say if you are between two sizes, you can safely go with your lower size.

My one beef with this jacket though is the zipper pull. It’s the ugliest zipper pull in the history of all zipper pulls in the world (way worse than the Warm Up Crew zipper pull). Who exactly is in charge of buying trim at lululemon? Check out the closeup of the zipper pull. It looks like a molded piece of play dough pressed on in a shapeless way. It’s not even straight. I have half a mind to chisel this weird piece of plastic off. Other than that, I really love this jacket. The pockets are angled in a really nice and comfortable way. The fit of this jacket is really flattering yet relaxed. I’m torn though between keeping the Power Purple or swapping it for Light Soot instead. Is the Contempo Jacket worth $138? No, it’s a really nice jacket but that zipper pull puts it into the $98 category for me, with a nicer zipper pull I’d put it in the $110-118 category. I’m keeping it though since I already sold my Define Jacket and needed to replace it. The design work of this jacket though (with the exception of the zipper pull) reminds me of older lululemon addict must have jackets with flattering sculpted seams and longer lengths. The luon on this is really nice too.

New! Serene Pants and Clarity Scarf

by Cristina May 8, 2013
written by Cristina

New Tencil pants called the Serene Pants and the Clarity Scarf in Power Purple/Aquamarine. I stay away from Tencil pants from Lululemon ever since I saw how badly my sisters black tencil crops from last year faded. It went from black to a very pale unevenly faded grey.

Photos From Australia: Power Purple/Aquamarine Bold Stripe Scuba, Twiggy Print Wunder Unders

by Cristina May 8, 2013

Australia just got a new scuba hoodie (lined hood) in Power Purple/Aquamarine Bold Stripe. Power Purple is one of my top favorite colors but I don’t much care for how it looks in cottons since it washes out that vibrancy. It looks best in luxtreme and luon I think. If you were one of the folks last year that really wanted that Tender Violet Turn Around Jacket that we saw but that was never released in stores or online, Australia now has it along with the Alberta Lake one. My Turn Around Jacket got tons of use this past winter since it’s so light weight and warm and you can easily layer under it, or over it.

Contempo Jacket and Swiftly LS Scoop

by Cristina May 8, 2013
written by Cristina

I’m actually really liking the look of the Contempo Jacket, which is strange because I had zero interest in the Every Yogi Jacket that was out a while ago. I just really like the subtly cuffed hem at the bottom which gives it a bit of slouch. That and the angled zippered pockets. I’m interested to see pictures of the Power Purple one. It looks like the pointy upward sloping shoulder issue is happening on the looser fits. Maybe some models have gone with lower sizes and avoided the weird shoulder point or they have wider shoulders. I looked at seam construction and sleeve attachments last night and compared it to the Define jacket and it looks like the sleeve attachment angle is the same, so it must be that the Forme and Contempo Jackets just have a wider shoulder span to be more accommodating to athletic shoulders.

In this picture the Swiftly LS Scoop doesn’t seem to have a really dramatic scoop neck. Its actually somewhat between a crew neck and a true scoop neck.

New Scarf! Clarity Scarf

by Cristina May 7, 2013
written by Cristina

I forgot to mentioned yesterday that I saw this new scarf in store called the Clarity Scarf. It’s made of vitasea and it’s an infinity scarf with a twist in the loop. It’s priced at $58 and its soft and light. I saw it in this Bold Striped Power Purple Aquamarine, and I think the other one was Light Soot. I’m not a scarf person so I didn’t feel tempted, but if you are it is really nice. I’d go with the grey one.

Upload!!!

by Cristina May 7, 2013
written by Cristina

Decent upload tonight. But, I do love Power Purple so I’m biased. Did you guys order anything? I’m still mulling it over. I’m tempted by a few items.

‘Bare Bum’

I’ve been thinking lately that with all these sheer lululemon pants, they really need to bump up their underwear offerings and include a nude color year round (or a variety of different nudes would be best). In fact, today I rummaged throw the underwear pile looking for a nude like color. I’d love a pair of hipster shorts that I can wear under In The Flow Crops or Ebb and Flows for that extra bit of opacity.

I am really tempted by this jacket, but a few things are holding me back. first and foremost I believe they have yet again priced this jacket incorrectly and it will be slated for repricing just as my return period runs out. This is too much of a basic jacket to merit such a price, especially at a time when their quality is so low.  I kind of want to wait that out and see what inventory does.  I’m torn on sizing. I tried the Forme Jacket the other day and the size 8 was a touch too snug, the 10 was a touch too big. I have no clue how this one fits by comparison. Also, I’m gravitating to the Power Purple, but I also like Soot Light.

Cool Racerbacks

I got Power Purple last week and I love it. Fits a touch tighter, made in Canada, soft nice luon.

Scoop Neck Swiftly

Pretty Swiftly that I do not need. I do love the change though. Scoop Necks are way more flattering and comfortable than crew necks. I will take a scoop or v neck over a crew neck any day.
