Surgical Procedure On Contempo Jacket Zipper Pull

by Cristina May 17, 2013
written by Cristina

If you are like me and are in love with the Contempo Jacket save for the monstrosity of that sculptural zipper pull, you’ve probably sat there and picked at the plastic while you’re bored and watching TV much the same way you would pick at a weird and annoying skin growth. Anyways, many of you have wondered what the jacket would look like if the plastic was removed and one of you lovely readers did just that. Thanks to Ms. R for sharing her pictures with us. That is most definitely an improvement!

Seawheeze 2013 shorts are starting to arrive for registrants and look at how cute the inner lining is! Looks like it comes with a little commemorative pouch as well.

Nothing for me tonight although I do really like the Runbeam Hoodie in both Zippy Green and Power Purple/Aquamarine. The price is along the lines of the Hooded Sun Block Pullover from 2010, so definitely reasonable. I like the little detail of the looped in hoodie pulls so that they don’t flap around while you’re running. I probably would have gotten a zippy green CRB had it been uploaded.

I’m super curious about what fabric this jacket is. Teque Street… I thought maybe the material looked like the Out And About Pants but now that I think about it it may be the same double layer that is on the Contempo Jacket shoulders. Not a jacket that I’m in the market for but it is sort of cute in that bomber – denim style cropped jacket look.

The Serene Pants are getting a bit of buzz since it’s been released in stores. I

I LOVE this Devotion Tee and had it been out two weeks ago I would have pounced. The past two weeks though have been really warm here though and I don’t know that I should be getting a LS now.

The Latest! Sun Beam Hoodie, Power Purple Serenity Pants, Ziggy Green CRB and More

by Cristina May 13, 2013

This UPF 50+ hoodie is super cute. If I didn’t already have a gorgeous sun block pullover (savage green!) from early 2010 I would be very tempted for this one. I like them as an alternative to swiftlies to wear to Crossfit since I find swiflies too delicate. I don’t actually wear my sun block pullover for the sun protection at all, but it’s a nice light weight long sleeve.

A Ziggy Green CRB (may possibly get this one), Serenty Pants (listed as Om Pants) in Power Purple

Swiftly Short Sleeve in Power Purple with a bold stripe pattern

OT Product Review: Peekaboo Beans and a Contest

by Cristina May 12, 2013
written by Cristina

Happy Mother’s Day lovely readers! Last month I was introduced to this brand of kids clothes called Peekaboo Beans  by a lovely reader named Michelle, a stylist for the company. She asked me if I was interested in having my kids try out some of the clothing and I very happily agreed after checking out the website and researching the company. Obviously this is a sponsored post in that I got free clothing to try out, but I was really pleased to find out its a local company outside of Vancouver, and the clothing is exactly the style of clothes I look for for my girls.

Something I really appreciate in kids clothing is basic designs without graphics/cartoons/disney-nickelodeon clutter (although I don’t restrict the occasional Dora tee). Another thing I look for are soft easy and unrestrictive natural fabrics. You will never, ever see my kids wearing chiffon, taffeta  or polyestery dresses for any reason, ever. I endured such dresses in my childhood and I loathed them because I couldn’t play in them and they made me sweat something fierce. My kids love dresses, but I try to find them cottony cozy styles that they can run and jump around in freely and act like actual kids. Michelle sent me these two adorable dresses and I was so pleased that they are totally age appropriate, and they are made out of this soft cotton which is very similar to Lululemons stretch cotton french terry from some of their most recent sweat pants.  My oldest got the peach/floral Boardwalk Dress and my youngest got the purple Beach Day Dress. These dresses have been worn constantly since we received them and they get washed and worn every few days. I love that they are girly, without being too girly. The style of the dresses are so cute and simple. Michelle also very generously sent us two pairs of leggings, a lovely hoodie and a gorgeous scarf for me. Each time they’ve worn their outfits we receive tons of compliments from family and other parents at school, and questions about what brand it is since it’s so obvious these are not your conventional Gap, Children’s Place or Gymboree styles. Another great thing is that the fabric is so durable that they aren’t too precious to play at the park in. My kids get them pretty dirty playing in the garden and then at preschool with paints and play dough. Throwing them in the wash though they have come out great every time. No color bleeding, fading or shrinking and stains come out easily. Most important though is that there are no special washing instructions. I’ve tossed them in with the regular laundry and then tossed them into the dryer.

If you’re interested in ordering some clothes (they have clothing for both boys, girls, babies and pre teens) or learning more about the company, check out Michelle Miller’s website (Peekaboo Beans Michelle Miller) and her facebook page. Michelle has offered a $25 dollar gift certificate for one lucky reader. All you have to do to win the $25 gift certificate is to leave me a comment telling me how you are spending your mothers day, and what item you plan on purchasing. I’ll draw a winner one week from today on Sunday, May 19th.

Power Purple Contempo Jacket, Serene Pants, Clarity Scarf and Zippy Green Forme Jacket

by Cristina May 10, 2013

Power Purple Contempo Jacket

This jacket is looking so great on everybody. Not sure what it is about the design but it’s the first lulu design in many months that has excited people. I’m super tempted by the Light Soot one now.

 Clarity Scarf

Serene Pants

Zippy Green Forme Jacket, Twiggy Print Wunder Unders, Black No Limit Tank

I’m passing on Zippy Green, but I really like the color. If they come out with a solid Zippy Green CRB I may get one but the bold striped one doesn’t tempt me.
