Fit Review: Old Dance Studio Jacket II Porcelain to New Dance Studio Jacket III Plum
Here is a comparison of the new Plum Dance Studio Jacket next to last years Porcelain Dance Studio Jacket, both size 10’s. The fit is pretty much identical with the exception of the arms. The new jacket is much more relaxed in the arms while the old one is snug. The seam detailing on the arms and ruching is the same, just looks different with the different fit. I also really like the shorter cuff on the sleeve of the new jacket. I find the Dance Studio Jacket a bit hard to put on after a really sweaty work out so I think the looser fitting arms will definitely improve that issue. Because of the ribbed luon waist, if you have a mummy tummy or muffin top like I do and you are self conscious about it, it may show in your TTS so I would go up a size for that reason alone. I mostly wear mine with my high waisted Ebb and Flows so I’m not really bothered by that, and I wear them with jeans because mostly I don’t care. I stayed TTS for me or a half size up (some of my jackets are size 8, some are 10’s) but I’m carrying a few extra pounds these days from too much patio time, and I’m hoping to get back down to fighting size in September.
Both the Fluffin’ Awesome Vest and the Plum In The Flow Crops have hit US stores today. I’m really hoping my order for the In the Flow Crops goes through because I am lusting after them bad. They are so gorgeous!
My purchases for today include the Plum In The Flow Crop II, the Dance Studio Jacket III in plum (earlier today) and the Moonglow/Inkwell Hyperstripe Bang Buster. I was tempted by a few other items though which I’m having to pass on. The Plum Studio Softshell interests me but I don’t like the ruffled sleeve or the panelled hood/shoulder. Tempted again by the Universal Wrap, but it’s a little too long for me. Afterglow Scuba is super pretty and fun, and I’ve been wanting to try the Street To Studio Crops for a long time now but I’m more of a jeans girl in the fall.
What did you guys order tonight?
These beauties will be hot sellers
Since I returned the Shake And Break Shorts in this print, I’m wanting to try on the Groovy Shorts again to see if they work for me for Crossfit. I’m needing to look for them in store though.
I made it out to a store today to pick up the newest Dance Studio Jacket III and I really love it in the Plum. I got it in a size 10 (I waver between size 8 and 10, last years DSJ I got in a size 10). I tried on the 8 which was too snug and zipping it up was hard since there was tension in the zipper, so I tried on the 10 and it fit well, although looser fitting than my size 10 from last year. I will try and post a comparison picture today of my size 10 Porcelain DSJ and my new size 10 Plum DSJ. I think this years version is Durable Water Resistant. It’s not marked DWR on the hang tag but one of the stores posted that it is and shows a picture of water beads on the jacket (below). This years DSJ is priced at $128 which I think is the same price as last year, but I still had sticker shock when mine rang up at $143 with taxes. Need to think about how badly I need and want this one.
You can see in this picture the water beading up on the jacket.
