Great Product Shots From West 4th

Pure Focus Tank & Bandhas Crops

I’m liking the Bandhas Crops a lot as something I would wear to the gym or to yoga specifically but for street wear I’m finding the static coal version busy with a lot of seam detailing, pattern and circle mesh ties at the ankle. In person these crops are very, very cute. They remind me of my knotted wunder unders which I’ve recently rediscovered in my closet. I love the way the circle mesh ties wrap around the back of the calf but you can also wear them tied at the front or on the side.

Back Bend Crops and Modern Racer Tank Tango Red

Backbend CropBackbend CropAlternate View

The Backbend crops are made with a really nice dense feeling luon that reminds me of my Wunder Groove Crops that have stayed like new since last year. I haven’t seen luon like my wunder grooves since then but the weave has a really great feel and if I were looking for crops to use at the gym I would get the Backbend crops soley for that reason.

  • Luon®, our signature fabric: breathable with coverage, cotton-feel, 4-way stretch providing support and allowing freedom of movement
  • Smooth & flat waistband, medium rise, slim fit

Dance Studio Pants White

Modern Racer Tank Modern Racer Tank Alternate View

I got the Modern Racer Tank in Tango Red yesterday and really, really love the vitasea in them. It elevates the Modern Racer to a much more lux, sturdy tank. I loved the Modern Racer before the Vitasea addition but these are so much nicer. I was also curios to see how the Tango Red paired with the white Dance Studio Crops. I would probably shy away from wearing those two together for fear of looking like I’m trying to be patriotic or too contrasty but I like it in this photo.

Mind Over Matter Jacket

There are elements I like about this jacket but as a technical running jacket I don’t see the functionality of it as it lacks protection from wind, rain and sun. f It sort of reminds me of the Stow and Go Jacket from last year that was originally priced at around $80-$100 and was later marked down to $19.

Sing, Floss, Travel Jacket

Sing, Floss, Travel JacketSing, Floss, Travel JacketAlternate View

I liked this jacket a lot when I tried it on. The fit was the same as the Wear With All but a bit shorter in length making this a much more flattering length for shorter people like me. The cotton french terry felt similar to the Movement Jacket which I really like for a spring weight jacket.

Description
  • Sing, floss, and travel in this jacket because it was designed to be the perfect piece for all your daily activities
  • French terry is soft and breathable with stretch so it holds its shape
  • Long fitted jacket provides bum coverage with tights
  • Thumbholes keep your sleeves down and your hands warm!
  • Front pockets for storage of $ & keys
  • Preshrunk

Run Speed Skirt

Love the Seabed print in Grapeseed. I hope we see tanks in this print.

  • All the technical properties of a short, but we made a skirt instead!
  • Lightweight & wicking swift fabric with 2-way stretch
  • Inherently wicking luxtreme™ fabric liner with sticky elastic at hem, stops shorts from riding up
  • Smooth, wide waistband
  • Continuous drawcord won’t come out in the wash

Did You Experience A Shipping ‘Hiccup’?

by Cristina April 19, 2011
written by Cristina

Reading thru on the Lululemon facebook page, various other fan pages and the My Superficial Endeavors Blog it seems that many people that ordered items from the new Lululemon e-commerce site freshly launched on Friday are now experiencing some shipping issues. Several shoppers have had their parcels shipped to incorrect addresses in different cities entirely. Some customers orders are still in ‘processing’ limbo and still have not received tracking numbers or they have received invalid tracking numbers and have no way of checking on the status of their orders. Hopefully lululemon can correct these issues in a timely manner and make this up to their loyal and  inconvenienced customers so that they have faith in ordering online in the future.

Initially Lululemon suggested we could see more product selection including colors uploaded as early as today if all the ‘hiccups’ of the launch of the new Lululemon e-commerce site were worked out but they have since pulled back and are now hoping to upload colors at some point this week for all of us eager little shoppers. I will post an update to this blog as soon as I hear about when new items will be uploaded online.

Did you experience any issues with your order from Friday?

Mind Over Matter Jacket

I like this picture best of all. The black pairs nicely with the Split Pea CRB or Rubber Ducky.

Made in Canada!

by Cristina April 18, 2011
written by Cristina

A reader had a look at this Dahlia Scoop Neck Tank in store today and noticed it was made in Canada. I’ll be madly reading the rip tags from now on in search of the ‘made in Canada’ items. The Polocross Crops that were out last week (a Lulu Lab inspired design) is also made in Canada as was the Black Roses Power Y Tank from December.

New In Store Today

Updating post, keep checking back..

Chai Time Pullover is back!!!

This one looks a bit longer then the last version. I wonder if they updated the design. I can pass on this neutral color as I have it in black but I would be mighty tempted in it in a Tango Red. Pink Mist or Grapeseed. I’m a sucker for the jewel tones heathered in the knits.

Back Bend Crops (Luon) and White Pure Focus Tank

Bandhas Crops (Luon), Red Define and Grapeseed Scuba

Mind Over Matter Jacket

I don’t really see much point in a jacket like this. I love my lulu run jackets but a jacket like this will not protect you from the wind or the rain and it doesn’t have enough reflectivity to make it a justifiable extra layer. I tend to err on the side of no jacket in the warmer spring months, even on rainy days. there is no better rain gear then your own skin, as long as your not in danger of becoming too cold. The price for this mesh jacket is $118 and way over priced. Although I really wouldn’t find much usefulness for it at a reduced price either.

Sing Floss Travel Jacket

I quickly tried this on today in a size 8 and I found it TTS or size down if your between sizes. The material was almost identical to the WWA and the Movement Jacket. The length was longer then the movement but shorter then the WWA so I think this will be a much better length for shorties like me. It had a metal zipper though and that’s a strike for me but in a color that I love this may get wishlisted anyways. I liked the seam details on this and found it very flattering and cozy but I have a few too many jackets and didn’t feel like I needed this right away.

Scoop NeckTank, Dahlia

This Scoop Neck jumped out at me today because of the color. It’s gorgeous and I really hope we see more items in this color such as the Modern or the Pure Focus or a Cool Racerback Tank.

Pure Focus Tank in Grapeseed and White

I saw the white Pure Focus today in store and I didn’t care for it in person. It was slightly sheer and I think you would see the cups underneath.

Coal and Tinted Canvas Pure Focus Tank

Heathered Coal? looks almost navy.

V-Neck Swiftly’s!!

I also tried on the V neck swiftly today and quite liked it a lot. the V wasn’t very deep at all and the fit was the same as the crewneck version. I think the sleeves may be slightly longer which is way more flattering in my opinion, especially if your closer to bingo arms then you are to having guns. I really hope Lulu makes this vneck a core item in the run line. Me likey!

New! Scoop Neck Tank

by Cristina April 18, 2011
written by Cristina

Scoop Neck Tank (Pink Mist?) and White Dance Studio Crops

This is a really pretty scoop neck tank in what looks like Pink Mist and maybe a print in the same color on the lower half like heathered or static. I’ve been wondering if Pink Mist would pair well with White Dance Studio Crops since it’s such a pale pink. I plan on getting the Modern Racer Tank in Pink Mist but want to make sure it will look nice with white and not wash me out or make me look like I’m dressed in Hazmat.

More Website Delays

by Cristina April 18, 2011
written by Cristina

Sadly it’s not looking like we will see an upload of color today on the lululemon website. It also sounds like they’re having a lot of glitches and bugs to work thru before they do an upload of new items.

Lululemon: “We’re not sure when exactly we’ll see coloured items on the site, but we’re hoping it will be as early as this week! We’ll provide updates as soon as we have them. Thank you so much for your patience while we work through this transition. You guys are amazing, and our tech team is working hard to get you colour as soon as possible!” and, “We won’t be doing any scheduled uploads until the site is fully up-and-running again but we’re hoping to see some new items on the site sometime this week! Until then, we’re rolling with the e-punches and taking the bugs as they come. As soon as we have new information, you guys will be the first to know! Please keep an eye out here, and on our website () for the latest updates.”

How It’s Going Week 10 ~ Half Marathon Training

by Cristina April 17, 2011
written by Cristina

Last night I did my longest training run until my half marathon at the BMO Vancouver Marathon (13 days, 15 hours away). I decided to do a 12 miler even though I’ve been assured 10 miles is enough of a distance in training for a 13 mile race, but I really wanted to know how 12 miles felt (mile 11-12 was painful). Last weekend I ran to my parents house which was 10 miles on the dot and I was so proud when I got there only to be crushed by my dads cynicism in letting me know the race distance was 30% more then what I had just done. Thanks dad! 3 miles sounds doable, 30% more sounds like almost 50% more. He was honestly just trying to be helpful (I tell myself) but it made me wonder if those extra 3 miles would be a huge stretch. I’m reassured to know that although my upper thighs will be extremely tired and sore, I can still manage to keep myself moving until the end and maybe even be able to manage a last mile sprint. Also, all of my training runs have been very, very hilly throughout so I’m hoping that because my race has one hill i’ll actually be less tired and run at a faster pace. Do those of you that run races notice you run your races faster then your training runs?

I wore my Mind over Matter Crops, or MOM crops if you will, on last nights run and I think these are my favourite crops of all time. The fit is not as snug as my Dash crops which have the same higher rise so I had to tie the waist to keep them from sliding down. Not an issue at all once I tied them, they stayed perfectly in place and didn’t budge.  Mine are a size 8 but I think sizing down to a 6 may make them a bit sheer stretched over my bum. What I love the most in these crops is the short length and the amount of circle mesh on the lower leg. The area behind my knees and the backs of my upper calves seems to get very hot so the circle mesh was nice for keeping me cool.  The ruffles on the calf are placed perfectly to give you a very slimming effect. Seriously, my legs were looking gooooood in these crops yesterday. I’m no less a serious runner for appreciating the fashion forward details (of course fit and function are primary concerns) , it just helps when you need to wear your gear to and from your activity. I mentally motivated myself for my run yesterday by wearing my MOM crops around doing errands earlier in the day so it was nice to be wearing a cute pair of crops with feminine detailing instead of plain old frumpy run gear.

Last week I purchased the Run Energy SL (circa Spring 2010) off the Lululemon Exchange Page and if it arrives in time I will be wearing that to my Half. I really like the silverescent material (I had the I Just Wanna Run Tank in the same material) It’s super lightweight and feels like your not wearing anything at all. I missed out on this shirt last year since I wasn’t sure how I felt about the varsity writing for every day neighborhood runs.  Now that I’m running a race that will require as much motivation as I can find I think the slogan is perfect. The passion colored top will look great with my red medal around my neck 🙂 and will make it easier for my family to spot me coming across the finish line.

I’ll have a few more half marathon posts between now and May 1st so keep checking back. I have a product review coming soon for you and some updates on the training taper/fine tuning and race prep.

Tango Red Define Jacket

Define Jacket Tango Red

I don’t normally gravitate to the Define Jacket but something about it in red really appeals to me. It reminds me of a cute cropped red leather jacket that my sister has and I covet.
