Rain For Daze Jacket
Rain-On-Train-On Jacket
Fresh Mesh Run Crop
A rather small upload for both countries today but still a few goodies to be had. I liked the Turn Jacket which I tried today. It was a relaxed TTS for me and incredibly soft. I got it in Alberta Lake but I’m liking the black online so I may exchange. I think the Rain For Daze Jacket on the US side is super cute but very overpriced for what it is. If it was in Canada I would order it to try on but sadly we didn’t get it here. Heathered Black Base Runner Pants are tempting me but my black ones I got in November/December are pilling horribly right across the thighs and the pocket seams are very frayed. I’ve never had lulu pants wear like that so I’m not happy.
Did you order anything tonight?

If you are browsing the lululemon resale market for deals, check out my post below this one from last week. I’m doing a big spring clean of my closet and plan on adding more items to that post throughout the month and I’ll keep bumping the post or linking it in the body of my new posts. I’m trying to be ruthless with my closet and listing stuff that I would like to keep but have not worn during it’s appropriate season. Take advantage of the low Canadian dollar if you are American and scoop up some great deals.

This bag! I am traveling next month and I needed a carry on friendly bag that also had a protected laptop pocket so I picked this bag up in black and it is amazing. Love it more than any other fun coloured or printed lululemon bag I’ve purchased in the past.

Hey readers, I decided to list a few items for sale today to plump up my spending money for an upcoming trip. I am happy taking USD or CAD so I marked prices in both currencies. US readers, this is the time to shop for awesome older Lululemon items. Take advantage of our atrocious currency exchange. Shipping generally costs me between $15-$19 CAD for US and Canada depending on weight of parcel. If you are interested in any of these items (or something else you know I have that I haven’t listed), email me at [email protected]. My sizes here vary from size 6 to size 12 so look closely at the sizes. In the photos, if you see a tag, the item is NWT. All items are in excellent condition otherwise and where worn once or twice.

A few weeks ago I was watching one of my favourite UK vloggers on youtube and she was wearing these really awesome looking marble print leggings by Varley, a UK brand that also has a California warehouse. I had to give them a try so I hunted around for them a bit and found them in a few luxury retailers (Berdorf and Saks) Sadly, finding them in Canada is pretty limited but since I had a bit of USD cash I decided to splurge on them in the name of blog research. I now see that you can purchase them off Revolve which would have been an easier transaction for me (I’m an affiliate for them, FYI) Years ago when I got a pair of Fry Boots off Revolve they gave you a 30% discount on your first purchase. I’m not sure if that is still the case but I do know they have a 10% off discount if you sign up for their emails. If you are interested in trying this brand out I’d definitely contact Revolve and see what kind of discounts they offer for first time shoppers.
When I opened up my parcel this morning I gasped at the beauty of them. The material is very similar to Luxtreme but more silky, substantial and luxurious feeling. The print is very vibrant in person and it looks as if it had been printed on silk. I noticed that they are made in Portugal and after doing a bit of research this morning it turns out they are made in the same facility that Stella McCartney Adidas is made. It seems silly but the fact that these are made in Europe makes them feel a little more luxurious and like I’ve gotten better value for my $100 leggings vs other brands for the same price. The material is ‘Italian Microfibre Compression Fabric‘ or Polyamide/Elastine. I find these pleasantly compressive and could easily wear these for both running distance and crossfit. The only problem with using these as a run pant is that there are no pockets, gel pockets or any of those bells and whistles but otherwise the fabric is highly technical, supportive and sweat wicking.
I am a TTS 10 in Lululemon and I ordered the large in these. The compression fabric feels snug but in the same way a Lululemon Tight Stuff Crops fit – so once on they are very comfortable and move with you but the fabric is slightly harder to pull on than say, luon wunder under crops.
The back of the fabric is white and the base of the print is white/light coloured so you would expect for them to be somewhat sheer but in my daylight squat test at home they are not sheer. I’d like to do another squat test in a fitting room with bright lights to verify but I think these are safely opaque for gym use.
These were definitely on the pricey side at $100 USD but not out of line with Lululemon pricing if you don’t take the exchange rate for us Canadians into account. It’s exciting to try a new brand that is not only very functional but also more in the ‘luxury’ category of athletic gear. I’m looking forward to trying out a top and a sports bra so if you are interested in seeing more from Varley let me know and I’ll do more fit reviews.
