Stide II Senorita Pink

by Cristina August 16, 2010
written by Cristina

I also fell in love with this pretty Stride. Maybe that’s why I was so good today…too many things I could have walked away with that it was easier to not pick. Anyways, this combination of Senorita Pink and Static Charcoal is so hot. I must get something in this combination, I’m just not sure what yet. This is the size 8 on me and as you can see it doesn’t look too small. The 10 has way too much room in the arms and chest. As I was leaving the store today I was longing for some new decent pima somethings in pretty colors. I don’t care if they want to call it the Modern or the 5yr v neck or crew necks or whatever but if they can make them one color I would be very happy to have one in Wish, Senorita, Lolo and Pig Pink. No color blocking please.

Groovy Run Shorts – New Color

by Cristina August 16, 2010
written by Cristina

I tried these on and I’m so looking forward to wearing Groovy Run Shorts next summer. Loved the look of them but I need to loose a bit of weight before I can run in shorts (chafe). Otherwise I love the style of them and the pattern was very cute on.

And a cute picture of the Vinyasa Toque.

Peace of Mind Vest – Personal Fit Review

by Cristina August 16, 2010
written by Cristina

This is not at all a running vest. Not even the slightest bit possible as this is a warm, very warm 600-fill-power goose down vest. I did really like it though as the fit was not poofy and it had a drawcord inside the pocket where you can cinch up the waist for more definition (this is uncinched) It’s got DWR (durable water resistant)  finish which means that it beads up water but it doesn’t actually repel water so if your caught in a rainstorm it will soak through. It’s good though from running from your car into the grocery store in rain but not so much for hanging out outdoors in inclement weather. It’s reversible but the other side is the same color, just different seam patterns which annoyed me because I would have gotten the pink or citron one if it had a coal inside just so that I have the versatility of having a neutral and a stand out color. Would you believe that I forgot to write down the price? I know it was more than the Community Jacket though so I want to say it was about $159ish. I think I may end up getting this as I really liked how nicely it fit and it’s something that can go over top of a Stride.  The one I have on in this picture is a size 10. the 8 looked similar as well so I would probably get the 8.

So what did I get today? a very boring purchase but one I’m happy with. I ended up with the Circle Mesh CRB (seen in all of these personal fit review pictures layered underneath) as I love the color on me and I think it’s my all time favourite. I found it to be a snugger fit so I got it in a 10. I also snatched a lolo skinny satin headband.

Community Jacket – Personal Fit Review

by Cristina August 16, 2010
written by Cristina

I wasn’t planning on falling in love with the Community Jacket but I tried in on in a size 8 and it fit so nicely on and not as bulky as I expected it to. I also tried it on over the journey jacket and the 8 was still plenty roomy for layering over a sweatshirt. I also love how soft it is and that it’s not the usual crinkly feeling of a rain jacket. I tried on the Alarm and the Coal and I think my favourite was the Lolo and second was the Alarm. I ended up walking away without getting this because I need to really think about it. I’m anticipating more jackets to come so I don’t want to later regret it as I regret not grabbing the Bomber jacket last year. I may pick this up next week if it’s still available or even better yet I’ll pick it up if it ever ends up in markdown later on. Although I don’t feel this is a wait for markdown type of jacket.

Journey Jacket Pictures – Size 8 & 10 Comparison.

by Cristina August 16, 2010
written by Cristina

This is the Journey Jacket in size 8 (TTS) and 10 (SU) on the right. As you can see it’s really hard to tell from the pictures which is the bigger size. I would say the size 8 felt snug around the bottom part of the waist and like it was less elastic. There was also slightly more arm length but not enough to make it look sloppy so overall I would go with the size 10 just for the comfort and movement but because I’m losing weight and would like to lose about 30lbs over time I think the safer bet would be to stick with the size 8. If you plan on staying the size you are during the Fall and Winter months you could go the size up for comfort.

I really like the look of the Senorita Pink and Static Charcoal. I rarely glance twice at a scoop neck but this color combo has me intrigued.

Here are a few more pictures to show you the fit of the Journey Jacket. It’s also in the lighter color so you can see the details a lot better but my favourite one is the charcoal grey. This one looks to me like a sized up one.

Peace of Mind Vest

by Cristina August 16, 2010
written by Cristina

OOooh pretty! I think I want this. It’s reversible but I’m not sure to what..maybe coal? Comes in Senorita Pink, Black and Citron. I’ve been wanting a vest for years and never get one because I haven’t found the right fit for me so I’m looking forward to trying this on. This looks promising because it’s contoured to the body and not just a big puffy michelin vest which I hate. I love that it has a hood too. we’ll see. I’m really waiting on the Run: Inspire Pullover before I make another big purchase because otherwise I’ll just get carried away. This is pretty functional though 😀

Logos

by Cristina August 15, 2010

Hot topic about the Lulu logo placement and visibility on Facebook today. There is an unconfirmed rumour that Lulu is changing the placement of the logo on Grooves from the lower leg to the upper waist area. What is your preference? showing off your lulu logo so people know or keeping things subtle and hidden? Personally, although I don’t mind logos in small doses, sometimes I just want to wear something comfortable and nondescript, but if I’m wearing a remix hoodie I like my logo.

Gather Dance Strap Tanks on for $39 and Seek The Peek Shorts also available for $39. Sheesh, I gave up on finding these shorts (or the Do It All’s) on sale so I got a pair of Banana Republic walking shorts instead.
