Lululemon Stock

by Cristina December 15, 2010
written by Cristina

An amazing must read post from My Superficial Endeavors analyzing Lululemon stock. Very insightful, especially since she’s an analyst by day.

“But I also find it strange that with all the popularity, Lululemon does not trademark any of their performance fabrics.  A big part of their selling point is the quality of their performance fabrics such as luon, luxtreme, silverescent, etc.  In fact, they don’t even have long term contracts with raw material suppliers which is pretty risky as the suppliers can 1. increase the price unexpectedly and in turn increase cost for Lulu, and 2. umm stop supplying under short notice and disrupt Lulu’s inventory flow.  As much potential as this company has, they really need a solid senior management team in order to stay afloat with their rapid growth rate.  Brand loyalty will fade if they lose quality and reputation.”

A Year In Review Series – Day 3 : Luon Pants of 2010

by Cristina December 15, 2010
written by Cristina

This year we’ve seen a lot of Luon Pants come out. Not a lot of them interested me all that much as I like to use Luxtreme Running tights for running and for lounging in I prefer either the plain ol’ Wunder Unders/Grooves or Relaxed Fit Pants. The Tadasana’s interested me because they are a narrow strait leg pant with a drawcord at the bottom to customize the length and for a shorty like me that is an awesome feature to have.  I don’t tend to venture out too much in my luon pants as they’re usually not the feature item that I’m wearing. The biggest fail in this category by a landslide is the Yoga Harem Pants.

**and a late addition to this list are the Polocross pants who I had forgotten all about, I’m not sure how. These pants were loved and adored by some lucky few who were able to pull the look off. They were one of the few Lab inspired pieces that made it in to the regular retail chain. The other pants being Yoga Harem pants.

What was your top favourite pant this year?

Tadasana Pants, Yoga Harem Pants, Astro Pants, Belt it Out Pants, Pique Energize Pants, Sage Twist Pants, Insight Pants, Yogi Dance Pants, Relaxed Fit Pants,Polocross Pants

Dear Lululemon,

Can you please make a Modern Racerback Tank in Roses Print? but could you make it White Roses print on a Black Tank? I tried on the Coal and Black Roses print yesterday and didn’t like how subtle the Rose Print was on it..but a white print on black background would be amazing.

Thanks for listening,

Lulumum

Another New Run Crop!

by Cristina December 14, 2010
written by Cristina

This is the Run: Hustle Crop. It surprises me that there is a Hustle Run Crop because the Hustle Tank didn’t strike me as a running tank. I like the look of these ones and in particular the reflective strip placement. I wish the new Brushed Power Luxtreme Run: Ambition Tights had this reflective strip because I’m more interested in trying out those but my preference is to have running tights with reflectivity on it.

This Weeks Newest Items – Rejuvinate Jacket, Push Your Limits Black Roses print and More

by Cristina December 14, 2010

Black Rejuvenate Jacket. Comes in Black and White. I think it looks much better in Black. “Infused with Polyester to keep it fluffy and warm”. Sounds like it’s a sweatshirt stuffed like a puff jacket. The Polyester should make this a pretty warm jacket.

Sparkle Scuba – Adorable!

by Cristina December 14, 2010
written by Cristina

This is the Sparkle Scuba in Heathered Sparkle Casis. I feel a bit relieved that there isn’t a blue one because I think I can pass on these colors since I did with the Cuddle Up version. I wonder why they didn’t chose to make these ones in different colors then the Sparkle Cuddle Ups.

Sparkled Heathered Clarity Grey. I believe the ebay one I posted about here was not actually pale blue as I thought but this pale grey.

A Year In Review Series – Day 2: Luon and Luxtreme Jackets of 2010

Luon & Luxtreme Track Jackets Lululemon

Luon & Luxtreme Track Jackets Lululemon by lulumum

These are all of the Luon and Luxtreme Jackets that were out this year (hopefully I remembered them all). My favourite style is the Stride jacket and although not my favourite style I really liked the Very Violet and Lilac versions of the Define.

Mynah Jacket , Half Moon Jacket, Challenge Jacket, Define Jacket, Stride II Jacket, Yogi Dance Jacket, Tadasana Jacket, Shape Jacket

Some memorable items from this list were the Define Jacket that came out in Wish Blue and Pig Pink with an updated chunky industrial looking zipper that a lot of you really disliked. Looking back I I really did liked the Pig Pink one even with the chunky zipper. The Strides have had quality issues this year with seams fraying and unsecured flat lock seams and badly placed zipper pockets, some people made up to 3 exchanges before they found an acceptable Stride or they went with something else entirely. The Tadasana and the Yogi Dance Jacket are by far the more out there designs with loose fitting mesh back for the Tadasana and the big ruffles on the back of the Yogi Dance Jacket. The Challenge Jacket has a really cool looking shape that reminds me of the cropped leather jacket look but was priced too high at $168 because of the new Silverescent Luon fabric they used (great for pet owners I hear). That is more then I want to spend on a track jacket. Which were your favourites this year?
