Thanks to Ms. Q for the spy mission on the latest items. I’m in love with the new Heathered Power Purple CRB and there is also a new one with the color code ‘LTFL’ and is luon light. I’m thinking it’s Light Flare (the color of the Ziggy Wee Print). There were new Swiftly 1/2 zips in Currant as well, the Presence of Mind LS’s and some zig zag printed WU’s.

Product Drop Monday

by Cristina August 6, 2012
written by Cristina

Nothing new in my store today due to the BC day long weekend but there will be a large product drop tomorrow I’ve been told. I also expect a large upload tonight which is a bit concerning to me since it’ll probably be my favorite Power Purple items and I was also told to expect amazing things at the Sea Wheeze store on Friday including some designs being brought back that are hugely popular, many many things that have not been seen online yet, and perhaps some specialty non technical items. Poo! Expensive month. Anyways, the Ed’s know what’s to expect and are super excited but they are keeping mum even with with bribery offered.  I was also told that the medal design is incredible and we will be very, very happy to receive it.  Also, the brunch after the race is being catered by a Whistler Restaurant

New shoppers. Very cute!

OOTD: Crossfit, Angel Blue Energy Bra

by Cristina August 5, 2012
written by Cristina

So, today for Crossfit we had a doosey of a WOD as is the case for weekend WOD’s. It was called Olympic Bar Mile. It was brutal, brutal and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to finish it but I did. My weights were pretty light at about 35lbs and when I had to do the run I took the 10lb plates off each time and that really slowed me down. The last run I opted to grab a nearby dowel instead because I was extremely fatigued. My time was around 43 minutes and I didn’t even look to see what other peoples times were but I do know I was one of the last 4. I was just super proud to have survived it.  I don’t usually use gatorade for Crossfit but today I was smart and grabbed some Nuun Tabs since it’s so hot out (32* and with the humidity feels like 35* for those of you coming to Vancouver for the Sea Wheeze) and that was good of me because I’ve been sweating buckets all day, especially during that workout and have had a bad headache.  Anyways, I digress from the most important part of this post, what I wore. I got a chance to finally really work out my new Angel Blue Energy Bra (after wearing it casually since I got it). It was perfect and comfortable and super breathable for todays workout. I just love a nice luxtreme bra that doesn’t have the yucky mesh inner layer. I didn’t really need this bra but I’m really glad I got swayed into buying it, I justified it by returning the Run: Catch Me Tank. I had a black Energy Bra last year but I sized down in it for more support for longer runs. This time I got it TTS and it’s slightly less supportive but extremely comfortable. For reference, it’s more supportive than the Flow Y or Free to Be Bras but less supportive than my Ta Ta Tamer or Cross My Heart Bra. It’s been great for everything crossfit including running but not super for the double under portions of the warmups. I felt like I jiggled a little too enthusiastically during the skip rope (single unders for me).

I wore it under my Dazzling Swiftly SL today and I think it was a truly inspired color combination if I do say so myself. I think Angel Blue just looks amazing with oranges, plum, currant, power purple and coal. I’m really looking forward to getting more items in that color since it’s rumored there will be more.

More Sea Wheeze Updates: Native Shoes Supplying Flip Flops

by Cristina August 2, 2012
written by Cristina

Now this is a really cool touch! Vancouver’s own Native Shoes will be supplying specially made Sea Wheeze Flip Flops to all the runners crossing the finish line. If you shop at Aritzia you’ve probably seen a display of Native Shoes. They are similar to Crocs but much, much cooler and nicer. Crocs for the fashionista! It also sounds like the Lycra Luon Lounge is going to be all about pedicures and massages. I wonder if that’s free? Getting excited (even though I’m probably going to mostly walk this one which is a bit disappointing).

Power Purple Define Jacket Shoddy Seams

by Cristina August 2, 2012
written by Cristina

Does the title of this post sound familiar? you’re probably remembering my post Pow Pink Define Shoddy Seams. My Power Purple Define arrived fine as far as I can tell but I don’t have another Define as reference point, nor have I looked at them very closely in store. I am curious to try on another 10 because I’m just surprised how snug mine is considering I size down to an 8 in In Strides/Strides and Scubas, perhaps mine is mislabeled. Probably not though, but you never know. A reader wrote in an hour ago that she’d checked the Power Purple Defines in her store and every single one of them had sloppy seam work, didn’t lay quite right, and the logo on the front had a weird bend to it. Yikes! No me gusta, lululemon!!

Fit Review: Power Purple Define Jacket

by Cristina August 1, 2012
written by Cristina

My first Define Jacket in Power Purple just arrived and I am in love with it in this color! I ordered a size 10 (usually I size down to an 8 in Strides/In Strides and some Scuba Hoodies, size 10 in tanks though) and I was quite surprised that the 10 in this was as snug in the lower torso as it was. The length is slightly shorter then I’m used to since I have a long torso, but that being said the 10 is comfortable enough that I’ll probably stick with it in this size. Inspecting it just quickly the seams all look good and the mesh in the back panel is dark purple – I’ll have to look at other Define Jackets to see if it’s sewn in the same way. I also got the Caspian Ziggy XLong CRB and I definitely dislike it. I don’t like how thick the material is. It bunches weirdly and it feels too hot for any sort of workout. The print was also ‘meh!’ for me so I’m not disappointed in sending it back. I ended up exchanging my Run: Catch Me Tank for the Angel Blue Energy Bra (peaking thru at the top of my CRB). I like the Run: Catch Me Tank and may end up repurchasing it but it did that weird bunching at the bust so it got eliminated from first rounds.
