Fit Review: The Bomb Bomber Jacket, Yin To You Sweaster

by Cristina

I came home empty handed but I have heard that the Rise & Shine I showed you a few days ago (the new camo print) is in fact the real deal and will be hitting stores soon. I also got to try on my new Ebb & Flow Bra under my Black Cherry Cool Racerback for Crossfit this morning and the bra is my new absolute favourite. So comfortable, as supportive as an Energy Bra for me, and doesn’t squash me down. I love that I can wear it casually and have a more natural shape under a tee shirt or tank I definitely recommend it. Stick with your regular bra size.

I was intrigued by the color of the Bomb Bomber Jacket, which is ‘BAKB/HBKY’. I’m not sure what the code stands for though. In person it’s a mauvy dusky rose color (actually, it’s Bark Brown which is surprising) which lends itself well to this design. I liked the idea of the jacket with the reversible cotton inside but the fit was a bit off on me since it tapered in at the bottom cuffed hem. It was snug over the hips and then pretty roomy in the chest but then slightly snug again in the arms which was all fine except that it was creating bunches in weird areas. It definitely has the shape of a bomber but it doesn’t have the relaxed fit or drape of a bomber. If I had sized up in it it would have been very loose in the chest.  I think if the bottom hem was elastic cuff instead of that thick quilted glyde it would have been totally fine. Although the quilted glyde gave it this cool retro detail. $168 was too steep for me for this jacket but if it goes on markdown I’d definitely be interested in the $78 range, and possibly even for $98.

I actually didn’t dislike this sweater as much as I thought I would. I assumed the slits on the sides would create a taper to the front panel but it actually looked fine from straight on and you couldn’t really see that there where side slits. My only problem with this sweater is that it is very oversized and long and on my short stature it was overwhelming. It’s a shame though because Alberta Lake is really lovely in this knit and it was very soft.

I know the sleeves were a bit big for you lulumum on the alberta lake sweater but I think it looked better on you than most of the pictures I have seen of it so far!!
