Pretty Awesome Upload

by Cristina November 10, 2011
written by Cristina

And yet I didn’t get anything today. I was tempted by the Dusty Rose Yoga Cozy Pullover but I talked myself out of it. I just imagined it getting fuzzy and pilled like some of my other lulu knits and decided that $128 was a bit much. My Mudra Wrap still looks quite sharp and like new but my Chai Time Pullover is in a very sad state despite babying. I may end up getting this at a future date but right now I shall pass.

What did you guys order today? Did checkout go smoothly with the new website?

Yoga Cozy Pullover

See, in this picture it looks quite delicate and sheer compared to the Chai Time Pullover which probably means wearing something underneath.

I’ve been waiting and waiting for Savasana Socks to come out this fall. I got some last year when they were $28 but I waited a long time before biting the bullet at the $28 price tag and when I finally got them I was in love. At $48 for basically the same sock I just cannot justify it. That kind of price increase is a bit ridiculous in such a short period of time.

Savasana Socks

Gratitude Wrap
This got restocked today in Black Swan which is really nice for those of you that missed out when they were first uploaded. I hope you had success today in ordering the one you wanted.

Off The Mat Jacket
This jacket has been a hot topic this week. You either love it or hate it or love it and hate the price tag. It’s quite an awesome jacket and I love it…but not sure it’s $178 awesome -maybe $148 since the fleece isn’t the same as a Patagonia/North Face/Columbia jackets. It’ll get a lot of use from me though so I will come to terms with the price.

Run For It Pullover

I am sadly not getting this pullover despite really loving it. It’s so beautiful but it’s quit warm for the temperatures here and when I run I like to stay slightly cool and not warm or hot the entire run. Last year I’d gotten the Alpine Pullover but later returned it for the same reason.

I love that they added this video feature! It’s an awesome 360* view of the fit of the jacket and highlights all the features. I hope they do this with a lot of products from now on.

The dance capsule, making women everywhere relive the prima ballerina dream.  Last winter I took my eldest daughter to the Nutcracker and she loved it so I see ballet in my very near future.

Run Your Heart Out Pullover

I initially poo-pooed this pullover due to the busyness but it looks cute on this educator.

Upload Thursday Eve Refresher; Rehearsal Dance Capsule, Off The Mat Jacket, Gratitude Wrap, Run For It Pullover and Run Turn Around Items

by Cristina November 10, 2011
written by Cristina

Well this was a pretty massive product drop week. Tons of dance inspired items, Gratitude Wrap, Off The Mat Jacket, Pullovers and lots of pants and a few tanks. I got the Off The Mat jacket earlier this week and that was pretty budget busting so I wont be getting the Gratitude Wrap, Run For It Pullover and Run Turnaround LS’s that I would have otherwise purchased. It’s the only way I can justify making one purchase that is steeply priced is if the residual effect is my spending less this month than I would have otherwise. Unless of course there is a new Cabin Long Sleeve. After seeing this afternoons website picture of the Persian Purple Ombre Striped Scuba I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a version of this print in the Cabin LS, just like the Black/Ghost Ombre Cabin. I am in serious love with this Cabin and want another one or few in the same print/different colors. Considering I’ve worn this shirt 4 days out of the last 7 I think it would be a good idea to get some more colors. I’d also like to get some Savasana socks which I saw in my stores product alert for this week, although as of this morning they didn’t have it out yet. bummmmer! I’ll probably hold off on getting those until next month though because I seem to remember last years version didn’t sell out super quickly.

Another interesting thing about tomorrows upload is that the website got totally redesigned overnight. It’s completely different now, if you haven’t had a chance to check in yet, and even has a new wish list function which I’m totally stoked about. I hope the wish list function allows you to wait for pop backs of items that have sold out which you were holding in your wish list, just like the Anthropologie website has. I’m not sure that the wish list will work for sending to family member for gift ideas since inventory sells out so quickly. I never ask for Lulu for Christmas because it would just be too frustrating for the gifter to have to hunt down sold out items for me. It’ll be interesting to see how check out goes tomorrow with the new website but I will only get a chance to test it out if there are new Cabins uploaded.

What are you guys getting in tomorrows upload? Anyone ordering the Off The Mat Jacket? If you were hoping to get the Black Swan Gratitude Wrap I think some stores got restocked this week so there is a chance they will be uploaded tomorrow as well.

New! Run Your Heart Out Pullover

by Cristina November 10, 2011
written by Cristina

The new Run: Your Heart Out Pullover made as the same Rulu as the Run Around LS’s, Pique/mini check. Priced at $108.

Bib, ruffles, contrasted circle mesh all over and up on the shoulders, a striped two tone pattern…yikes. This is pretty busy.

Some More Off The Mat Photos

Sorry for inundating those of you not at all interested in the Off The Mat Jacket but there are a lot of you interested in this funny little pricey jacket and waiting for it to get uploaded tomorrow but still unsure if its a love it or hate it item. It’s helpful to see all of these different angled shots of the jacket since it’s got a more complicated construction and a pretty conspicuous profile. I’ll be stopping in at my store (again!) today before school since they are getting product drops all week and I’m hoping to see those Savasana Socks to check on the price so look forward to more none OTM Jacket posts.

Pictures of the Latest (Allegro Hand Warmers, Neck Warmer and Leg Warmers)

by Cristina November 8, 2011
written by Cristina

I caught a glimpse of this new Allegro line, Allegro Hand Warmers, Neck Warmers and Leg Warmers as I was leaving the store today and they were just starting to unpack them. I got to check out the leg warmers which are a very soft and thin cashmere bamboo blend and priced at around $58. The hand warmers are very cute but not very practical for outdoor weather. They also had a new Sigg Tea Cozy mug in two colors and I really liked them but would probably only think about getting one in a great color…except that I’m pretty married to my Vessel Double walled glass tea steeper so even in a great color I should pass.

A new cashmere knit sweater at Ms. S’s store today, priced at $98

The Off The Mat Jacket. My store had 4 of these left today. I think they got a small shipment of them since the price point is quite high. I tried mine on again today over a Cabin LS and the fit is really comfortable still so I’ll be keeping mine. I’ve decided that the only ok way of wearing this jacket left unzipped is if you button a few of the neck snaps to keep the asymetrical panels from flapping about. According to the GEC the fleece is the exact same fleece used in the Don’t Hurry Be Happy Pullover and the price increase is due to the extra design features that went into it. I sort of wish Lulu would give more fabric details with the fleece like some of the other high end fleece retailers do. Like, I want to know if the fleece has ‘lofted hollow core fibres’ to provide extra warmth, and I want to know if it’s a Polartec fleece they are using which is the highest quality fleece that Patagonia and The North Face both use or if they are using something different but of equal quality. At this price point, it’s an investment piece for it’s functionality and not just for it’s design features. None the less, it’s a gorgeous jacket and I can see myself wearing it a lot on dry days as an easy comfortable overlayer. Probably wont layer nicely under a shell jacket with this neckline but it will probably take me right to spring.

 Run: For It Pullover

Saw this in store today and it’s super pretty. I really wanted to try on the Currant one which felt really soft but it was busy in store and I didn’t want to take up a fitting room. The tech fleece is thinner than my spirit pullover and slightly stretchier because of it. Also, there are ribbed side panels which will also provide stretch. I loved my Spirit Pullover but my main reason for parting ways with it besides it being too warm for running in Vancouver winters was that the tech fleece had very little stretch to it and was slightly restrictive. This one is going to be much more movement friendly for sure!

Run: Turn Around Short Sleeve and Long Sleeves

These are so pretty, I just know I’m going to regret passing on them.

Heathered Black Swan Cool Racerback Tank.

I really wanted this one but in person it just looks too close to grey. I would have loved a solid Black Swan.

More Off The Mat Pictures

I’m really loving this jacket. Haven’t taken the tags off yet thanks to the sticker shock but it’s pretty nice. There are actually 3 kinds of fleece on this jacket. The outer fleece which is like the Don’t Hurry Be Happy Pullover, an inner silken fleece which is a high pile, and the sherpa fleece at the collar.
