Not a huge upload today considering the amount of items we’ve seen in the product drops and product alert emails this week but I think the web traffic would be less today anyways because of the US Thanksgiving so a smaller upload makes sense. I’m really wanting the Purples Ombre Stripe Cabin Tee LS but I’ve decided to check my store for it in hopes of instant gratification, and perhaps they also have the Pink Ombre Stripe that they listed. Lately my online orders have taken longer to get to me so if I know my store is getting that item it’s just easier to go there. The Currant CRB tank has been on just about everybody’s wish list and since the Solid Tango Red CRB only made it to select stores back in May I know a lot of you had this one ‘angeled’ to you in fear of the same. The color is really gorgeous in person and a true cherry red. I hadn’t even had it on my radar but once I tried it on I couldn’t pass it up. The Elevation Space Dye Scoop Neck Tank is also so gorgeous in person and I wish there was a CRB in that print as well but Scoop Necks just aren’t for me so I will admire it on others.

.. but only after Lululemon went there first. I’ve been holding back on posting this after attention was drawn to it on the Lululemon Facebook Page (apparently this product shot is politically sensitive..but if you ask me I think some peoples imaginations are getting the best of them). *Awkward Pause*…anyways. It seems lululemon is currently hiring for a male (and female) fit models.
Seriously Lulu, forget that unsavory John Galt crap for ad campaigns and stick to this stuff. This has me actually laughing out loud (and then emailing the link to all the male members of my family suggesting they apply as fit models, athletes they are not).
The last few weeks of product drops have been absolutely insane not only in new items coming out but items in multiple color options, I can see why there are extra product drops throughout the week and possibly an extra upload day on Tuesdays (not verified yet). Is it just me or does this year seem to have more options for everything? 4-5 trench style jackets? Last year we only had two trench style jackets. I’m so surprised that this week and last week we have seen sparkle scubas, regular scubas, printed scubas and special edition scubas. In fact, in the last month and a bit we’ve now seen 3 similarly pink scubas and one pink cuddle up coming. Heathered Rose Petal Scuba and Dusty Rose (or was that Paris Pink?) are nearly identical save for the logo and heathering. Last year we had just the Post Run Pullover for a fleece option and this year we’ve had 3 fleece pullover/jackets. I’m not complaining at so much selection, I think it’s great except my wallet and budget thinks it’s totally awful and have made me veto things that I would have loved to have. I think Lulu is really getting it right this year as far as styles, color palettes and selection (too bad about e-commerce issues and some customer service policies that could use some attention). I might even say that these Fall/Winter items are hitting the same note that Lulu had back in 2009 (year of the fuzzy fleece, spirit pullover, cuddle ups and gratitude wrap) which may be why sales have slowed down on the resale groups (lots of people have mentioned poorer sales). I’m having a hard time keeping on budget right now, I know I really want the Cabin LS’s that are coming out this week and I have room for that but I’m liking the Paris Pink Hustle Jacket and the Paris Pink Cuddle Up and I’m sadly having to pass on them along with many other items because they are all coming out at once. Hopefully so much selection means great markdowns later on. Probably not as soon as Cyber Monday for these items but maybe for Boxing Day which is frighteningly just around the corner.
Tomorrow I’m hoping to pick up the Ombre Striped Cabin Tee Long Sleeve that just came in on a product alert email but I’m also hoping for strength in resisting all the other items I’m pining over but just can’t justify. What are you guys hoping to see in tomorrows upload? Are you keeping to a budget or are you spending way over budget thanks to all of the selection this year?

I am all over this one and have been stocking my store since Monday ever since the Scuba’s came out in this print. Seriously, I’ve been wearing my Black Ombre Stripe one constantly and I’m in desperate need to ad to the rotation.

Speed shorts are usually priced at $54 but I’ve read that this version with the extra reflectivity is more expensive.
This article on CBC.ca mentions Lululemon as one of the Canadian retailers participating in Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Lululemon also hinted on their facebook page that a little birdie told them that we should be on the lookout online for markdowns on Monday. Will you be on the lookout for deals on the website or will you be heading out to the stores on Friday to see if there are markdown racks? I’m thinking of checking out my local store on Friday just to see what they have marked down but I’m also wondering if they will take advantage of the foot traffic and release some new items as well (probably some new items from Upload Thursday). Things on my radar for markdown are any of the jackets. If the Apres Piste gets significantly marked down I may consider it although I did end up buying a much cheaper down jacket a few weeks ago over at Land’s End which I’m quite happy with. $79 with free shipping was much more reasonable for a short winter than a $300 jacket. I’d also consider getting Groove Crops which I’ve been meaning to get but I can probably make due without them.
This picture highlights the reflectivity of each of the jackets. The white/glacier print one in the middle is $10 more expensive than the others ($148/$158) and I had initially thought it was because the pattern on the white jacket was fully reflective but it appears that it’s just the zipper at the front and at the collar that is reflective and there are no reflective lines like on the Paris Pink and Black
