Shannon Wilson and Chip Wilson will be launching a new Technical Cashmere Brand called Kit and Ace. Sign up here for updates on the brand which will launch in Fall 2014. Shannon Wilson is one of the original head designers of Lululemon and is married to Chip Wilson, the founder. I’m very excited about this brand as I love natural fabrics and especially wool/cashmere blends. I strictly wear wool socks for my technical running/crossfit socks and am intrigued by a cashmere that I can work out in. This is meant to be a high end luxury brand so I am also curious about the pricing and how it compares to Icebreaker which I really like, but it doesn’t have the feminine designer quality that Lululemon has.

We’re all busy and we all want clothing that works. We all like nice things – especially quality things that function. So we make clothing that does what we like. We design from an understanding that the world is moving fast and that our lives are trying to keep up. Kit and Ace is about time, value, and integrity. We have big plans for the future.
I tried on the Refresher Racer Dress today and it’s really nice and if you have the right body type for it I think its a great buy. My fit issues with it is the typical for a pear shape and sheath shaped dresses – fits well up top and then slightly clingy around the hips causing it to ride up or stretch over the hips. If it was slightly more A-line towards the bottom hem I would have snatched it up because I really love the length. I definitely needed to wear spanx under this to make it less lumpy but other than that, and the fact that its not a great shape for my body type it was really elegant and nice (for a athletic wear dress).
My find for the day was the Post Power Crops on markdown for $64. It seems like most stores have these on markdown so if you are interested definitely check your store out, I saw them at both Coquitlam and Metrotown in all colors and sizes. I tried these on when they first came out and really liked them with the exception of the excess material in the lower abdomen area so I decided to leave them behind in hopes that they would eventually be marked down. These are my TTS size 10 and fit really comfortably. If you fold the waist over (which is luxtreme and high) you minimize the tummy pouch look. Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of them with the waist folded over so you definitely see the excess material in this picture. I love that you can fold the hems, or cinch them or wear them longer. They will probably fade pretty bad as Tencil does, but for the markdown price I can live with it fading to grey eventually.

I stopped in at my store today because a reader let me know they had new product in. It turns out they had the Bruised Berry 105F Singlet in which I did not expect for this week. It is so much prettier in person than it is photographing. I’ve been wearing my 105Fs and my Coastal Tanks a lot to crossfit and casually lately so this was something I definitely needed to pick up. My store also had in Pretty Palm Wunder Under Pants, and Palm Play Wunder Under Crops and the new Refresher Racer Dress. Robson St. got Shine High Times Crops and Palm Play All Day Asana Tote which the other local stores did not get.

Its more of a soft Heathered Bruised Berry in person and leans much closer to purple than it does when it is fully saturated.
