As I wrote earlier this evening, there are some corporate changes over at Lululemon HQ. Chip Wilson is stepping down as chairman, and Laurent Potdevin is taking Christine Day’s position as the new CEO. Here is is official introduction.
Welcome Laurent Potdevin!
Upload at 9:48pm PST tonight. A few things I’m interested in but nothing ‘must have’. I’m curious about the Bust A Move Jacket mostly because I really regret not getting the Urbanite Blazer out a few months ago and this looks similar. The back isn’t very appealing though and I’m not sure what the fabric is. I’m also super interested in the parallel stripe Runday Crop but I’m going to wait and see. Maybe I’d rather have the parallel striped Wunder Under Crops.
This interests me but I need to see it in person to see how fragile the knit is.
Chip Wilson Leaving Lululemon, as New CEO To Replace Christine Day Named
Chip Wilson is stepping down as chairman of Lululemon Athletica Inc., a decision made about a month after he touched off a controversy by suggesting that women’s body shapes were to blame for the chain’s problems with its black pants.
At the same time, Lululemon is naming Laurent Potdevin (from Toms Shoes most recently, Louis Vuitton, and Burton Snowboards), a veteran executive of the global fashion and snowboarding world, as chief executive officer. He will replace Christine Day, who unexpectedly announced in June that she would leave when a replacement was found.
